  • Do you think if they went back to this style, people would stop watching?

  • Gilberto Roman never got any love, did he?

  • It's hard to go from one of the best gimmicks in wrestling history to one of the worst, but Graham did it.

  • Everyone keep in mind that steroids in the 80's were still elgal, you could go to your local pharmacy or walgreens and pick up some winstrol V and Dinabol for fifty bucks.

  • How I miss these days. I love the smoky, small crowd enviornment. Today's shows have nothing on this classics.

  • @stevedrums these were the cocaine, booze whore, cigarettes decade of wrestling. We were al crazy back then.

  • ...and my name is Joooooooooooe McHugh!

  • I love that intro to Championship Wrestling. Wrestling was still good in those days!

  • I don't care what anyone says- back in 82 I was in 8th grade and Billy Graham scared the hell out of me

  • Is that Billy Graham...I thought it was Iran Sheik!!

  • Superstar was a cocaine addict at this point. He's said in several interviews this was one of the darkest periods in his life.

  • @lakebay972 Fore sure he destroyed his body, same with Hogan

  • TonY Rico is hot !

  • Why did they ditch his gimmick? Hulkamania hadn't started at this point in the WWF.

  • @markallenkellner They ditched his gimmick when he signed with Jim Crockett Promotions not long after this match.

  • This reminds me of when Chris Masters came back, following the Wellness Policy, looking like Charlie Haas on smack. But Graham looks taller here for losing some width. The pants and tiny opponent help too.

Also, State Athletic Commissions aren't worthy of acknowledgement, but good to see the timekeeper get the credit he deserves. Was an admirable job, once.

  • Joe McHugh was OVER, brutha!

  • Longest intro ever.

  • @AlexDCl That's because they still promoted it and presented it as if it were a real sport, the way they do with boxing and MMA (which obviously are real). Sometimes, I wish they'd add a little more of that into today's product. Maybe not going as far as announcing the state's athletic commissioner, but just little things like the number of falls, time limits, and such.
