  • 0:43 is pretty dang hilarious, but 2:00 is dangerous to watch due to the risk of laughter asphyxiation.

  • Shows sounds are better after all.

  • If Kermit didn't like what Simon was doing, he should've done it himself.

  • "And in the East, right here, it will be raining cats and dogs."

    "It'll be what?!!"

God, I'd forgotten all about this one. Funny, funny stuff.

  • Kermit is like, "What the hell is this guy doing?" Then I'll bet he wishes he had kept Simon.

  • Kermit is like, "What the hell is this guy doing?"

  • 152 to 3...that was a game...

  • Lol it's funny that they used toy cats and dogs, including a Snoopy doll and a blow-up tiger, at the end. :)

  • Did I hear Simon Soundman ask the frog if he was still going to pay him when the frog pushed him out of the studio?

  • Three left-handed Muppets! Wow!

  • @Smartboy8877

Most Muppets are left handed, since you generally use your dominant hand for the head.

  • @WeirdBeard42

Thank you very much for the information!

  • The Newsman from The Muppet Show could learn a lot from this piece--NEVER do weather reports or the real thing will happen in the newsroom. :D

  • Im surprised that they didn't use any puppet dogs and cats, just stuffed ones.

  • after 1971 kermit wore the gray hat so you can tell the time period this was made.

  • I love it when Kermit shows his "disgust" face!

  • @treadley I call it Kermit's annoyed look

  • @Shadowhawk28 yeah, that's a better way to describe it! :)

  • @treadley I make that face sometimes.

  • AT 2:05 he sounds JUST LIKE HOWARD DEAN!!

  • Would anyone think that the lavander muppet looks like a younger and thinner Jascha Lombardi?

  • Simon Soundman is always unfortunate enough to have Grover as his waiter in the other sketches.

  • nice I like the giant stuff snoopy that got thrown at the end.

  • I was hoping to see this on Youtube.

  • Performers in this sketch:

    Kermit the Frog: Jim Henson

    Simon Soundman: Jerry Nelson

Lavender Anything Muppet newsman: Richard Hunt

I can hear a little Frank Oz here, too from 01:17 to 01:18.

  • Snoopy makes a very breif cameo at 2:11

  • Being a cat lover, if I was in this situation, I'd pick up one of the cats and start pettin' it. Or have cat toys handy to keep the cats busy. lol

  • Well, Kermit did say he wanted a "real" weather forecast!

  • Jim Henson was a creative genius. Man Simon Soundman is abused and used.

  • Kermit does not appreciate creativity when reporting the weather. He'd rather have Ben Stein do it, I'll bet.

  • Simon you made the weather more interesting. If I had a news company you bet you would have a job with me!

  • What I want to know is why was Kermit wearing his coat and his hat when he was indoors?

  • LOL at Kermit's face at 0:58!

  • Yeah i was waiting for this one too!

  • I've been looking for this sketch for years! I remember only seeing it once in the reruns as a kid and have not been able to find it on YouTube. Thanks so much for posting it!

  • that was funny. at least it didn't snow in the studio or else poor Kermit (and the rest) would freeze to death.

speaking of snow, does anyone have the Guy Smiley "The Weather Show" bit? that one was the best.

  • that came waaaaaayyyyyyyy outta left field, lol

  • Yay! Sawing14s, you rock!

  • Anyone understand what Kermit said at 2:10?

  • i think he said "stop that"

  • You know what? I think you're right.

  • I agree... i think he said "stop that" (like the dog was biting him or something)

  • Yeah. That's what Kermit yelled when that dog was attacking Kermit and tried to make a run for it.

  • Haha, that's cute how they put in a Snoopy stuffed animal toy at the end.

Also, the weather in my area, the east cost, was pretty rainy, though thank god it's starting to clear up like a Summer should.

  • wow, wish the weather forecasts were really like that!

  • I'm guessing Richard Hunt did the cat meows and yowls when it started rainin' cats and dogs, right?

  • Richard Hunt is so silly! I love him, and I miss him!

  • Which is why I dedicate this sketch to him and Jim Henson. Just be grateful for YouTube to bring back our childhood.

  • Amen to that!

  • If it was me, I would've asked "Who invited this man into the newsroom?"

  • that second weatherman is the funniest looking puppet i've ever seen

  • I'm guessing they used dry ice to make the fog?

  • That's what I suspect they used.

  • What I want to know is how they made the rain. I know for movies they have a special machine to simulate rain, but using such a machine inside a small TV studio with all sorts of cables, wires and other electrical apparatus would be very dangerous.

  • The rain element is probably an overlay that they used - no rain on the actual set, but they faded in some video of rain - just enough for it to be transparent.

  • It looks like it; Disney used to do that all the time, overlay stock footage of rain onto the animation.

  • Where did all those weathers come from? Also, was that Richard Hunt as the 2nd weatherman?

  • I believe so.

  • Here in Creswell

    Very warm, but maybe

    Hot

  • SOMETIMES COLD

  • Happy 730th

  • I wonder what the other weatherman's name is. Maybe something like Vinnie Visualman.

  • Out of curiosity, why are your latest videos not searchable through "Sesame Street"?

  • Because it appears as though he never puts "Sesame Street" as any of the tags on the SS vids he uploads nowadays. Strange.

  • Was that a bob cat chasing Kermit at the end?

  • I think it was a dog in pursuit of Kermit. 'Cause he was growling and trying to bite Kermit's right arm.

  • It sounded more like a roar, and Kermit said something with the word "cat" before he started shouting for help.

  • Well, I looked carefully it was a dog attacking Kermit.

  • LOL, a certain beagle makes a cameo at 2:11!

And the weather today started sunny, but got rainy with a bit of thunder later this afternoon. It cleared up by now.

  • The weather in Glendale, AZ is hot and muggy.

  • Yeah, I suspected that was Snoopy @ 2:11 from those Peanuts comics and cartoons.

  • All right! I've been waiting for this one for two and a quarter years. Thanks a bunch.

Right now it's pretty gloomy in my neighborhood, but not rain yet.

  • Those two weather guys could give Sam Champion a run for his money. That's a pretty accurate forecast, lol. :D

  • Rain HAS been plentiful up here in the East Coast lately.

  • Wanna trade?

  • It's about time this clip is up here! Thank you, Guille!

  • And also, right now up here in California (which is in the West Coast), it is VERY hot.

  • How did they do the fog and rain?

  • The fog was probably made with a device called a fog machine. They're very common - you can buy them online or at any theatrical supplies store. We used one a lot when I was in high school for plays. Basically it's just a little box that you pour some kind of chemical liquid in, then push a button which converts it to a fog. As for the rain, I was wondering about that myself and I think the explanation given by martin2083 below is the most likely.

  • @redfox409 For the fog, I figure they could've used dry ice or a fog machine, but I don't know how they made the rain.

  • Yay! I've been looking for this one! Thanks so much!

  • Pretty funny!

  • @antsamthompson9 if it were me, I'd be wondering "WHo let this man in the newsroom?"

  • @muppetfan33 So would I.

  • He must be Sid Sight-Gag.

  • or he could be Sampson Sees-All.

  • Wow, they never did this on the Weather Channel. Neat video. :)

  • Yeah, the Weather Channel would never get away with it.

  • "That, friends, was a game!"

  • I never really understood what he meant by that.

  • We have the latest scores: 14-7, 26-22, and 155-3! That friends was a game! HAHAHA Classic Kermit the Frog Humor!!!

  • I half expected the "partial score" gag, myself made famous by George Carlin.

  • Was he talking about football or baseball? Anyone know?

  • I'm believe that he means football

  • @02Ctu2486 Well, it could be baseball, if it's my Tigers and the bullpen is doing their usual job.

  • Ironically enough, here in East Tennessee (which is very close to the East Coast) HAS been having a lot of... *rain and thunders sounds*

  • As a child, I didn't like to hear Kermit yelling for help like that. I used to imagine I was a security guard running to the rescue with a tranquiliser dart.

  • Didn't your mother ever teach you not to run around with tranqulizer darts? XP

  • Oh, you mean when one of the dogs was attacking Kermit?

  • Exactly. Like I said, I used to imagine I was a security guard at his news station running to the rescue with a tranquilizer dart gun yelling "Hang on, frog!"

  • @GroverKent Simon Soundman and that Lavender weatherman could do special effects for a play
