Oh well I must be getting poorer and poorer, as I first bought a Marshall then peavey, and now a bugera 6260. But couldn't give a Fuck as I love the amp, also I still own the previous amps,
why arent you the spokes person for bugera instead of that douche they have who just shreds van halen for ten minutes on every video, cause i watched this video and went and ordered a bugera 6262 off amazon.
quick question man, on the footswitch there is no way of switching between clean and crunch correct ? btw, good playing and this amp is amazing. I don't understand why people hate this amp, the age of Brand names is over. most of these small discount companies are putting out amazing product nowadays that the average guy can afford.
I love the review, but after a couple of minutes I start laughing at the looped track sounding in the bagkground. Good job man, your are the man and the amp's a beast.
@store1992 from owning a 6260 i can safely say 6260... I may be wrong because I haven't tried one but i thought the 6262 was for more modern tones. I bought the 6260 with that in mind and haven't looked back
@Ammuree a lot of retailers are sold out as of now. I think the next batch of Bugeras are going to have the Infinium feature on them so just hold tight for a few more months. I'm on the same boat as you, can't wait.
Man 90 % of the time , i skip the "talking part of a review " .. but i listen to all you had to say and your awesome . im defenatly going for a bugera amp soon . :) im sure your not paid by bugera to say that. your review is really great . :)
im suscribing . for sure . im going bugera for my next purchase .
Peavey uses JJ preamp tubes which are TOTAL SHIT. The Chinese 12AX7's are actually quite nice these days and Eddie Van Halen himself replaced the stock JJ's in his 5150's with Chinese high-gain preamps because they SOUND so much better.
I'm interested in the 1990, but I'm finding many negative opinions about its reliability, what about the 6262? As you say it looks very durable and well made, is it worth to pay 100 bucks (more or less) more for it or I'd be okay with the 1990? I play rock, hard rock, metal, and I like cleans too.
@rsncaronte check the reviews at ultimate-guitar Maybe in 2 years Uli fixed the reliability issue for the 6262. I am not impressed with Bugera QC. Despite what they say on their website (BS), I don't think they test anything, the tubes or assembled Amps. I had a Sunday repair call from a new owner, straight out of the box the 1st time he fired up the amp he blew a fuse. Lucky the Output Transformer hadn't blown instead. Shorted Power tube. Tube's Getter had never been fired. Proves my point.
its funny how people respond when i say i have a bugera:P i recorded something in the studio, and i said i wanted to use my own amp. the producer asked what amp i had, i said bugera 6262, he was like, hmmm, ok, well, if thats what you want..... not too excited about it:P when i had my amp set up, and all mic'ed up, i plug it in, play it, and he was like, wow, that thing sounds good:O and then there walked in another guy, he was like, nice guitar tone, what amp is that:P all suprised t was bugera
@666guitarfrea, A Bugera 6262 should sound fine. The 6262 circuit is a 5150 II clone. What product sold under either the Bugera or the Behringer brand name isn't a rip-off copy? Why Uli Behringer isn't geting sued by Peavey is a wonder.
o.k guys i need some help... i play in a sorta metal core band and our tuning is drop a#.... im looking for a tone anything from like parkway drive to keith merrow. just a very high gain- tight distrotion- what you guys think? i am considering the bugeras as an option because i dont want to be spending to much money
i don't care about price or coat tails!!!! this amp and the 333xl is killer !!!! if god played an amp he would play bugera!!!! i own the 333xl (like it better) but all this line is kickass!!!!!
Hey, Im getting the 6262 combo, one question about the fx loop,im wanting to use the lead channel (distortion) built in and put an analog delay, mxr phase 90 and a flanger in the fx look and an eq and tuner in the front of the amp. I noticed the channel footswitch had a fx button...Does this have to be turned on for my effects to work through the loop? and still be playing through the lead channel?
Thanks alot, sorry for waffleing people :) but would be very grateful if someone replied to this.
@MochOfDoom You can put any tubes in it you want. If you want to put EL34's in it, you have to adjust the bias and hit the switch. Go to the bugera website and the directions are on it for doing it. It's not hard at all, just need a Digital Multi Meter with an RCA connection and you're good to go.
Maybe bugera has these metal vents, metal switches etc. but as for my music taste Bugera sounds ALOT worse than Peavey 6505+, moreover even 6505 sounds better as for me. Actually I'm searching for new amp. I played on shitload of amps and If you ask me Bugera certainly is cheap but I wouldn't invest my money into it. Why? 1. Because of the sound of Bugera(well...it's not my sound) 2. I have alot of friends with bugera's. All of them actually invested more cash into repairs than into amp itself.
Hey Matt! Have you seen the TRIREC that's coming out once they get the regulations BS taken care of? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... I want it. I have a 333XL and love it. Bought that used, but I'd pay full price for that thing..... IT LOOKS SO TASTY!
You get what you pay for indeed, the bugera line of high-gain heads do pretty good impressions of the classics they are made to replace, but it is customer service you will sacrifice. Their 150 watt plexi is 450 bucks new, and sounds like a plexi, BUT reliability is an issue, and the Bugera "warranty" says (paraphrased) "products are covered unless for some reason we decide that they are not". That said, it's still well worth it if you're capable of servicing your own amp, or know a good tech.
Great review dude, I wish people did more reviews like this instead of showing a 1 minute video of how stuff looks like and just say "this is AWESOME!"
Check out Avatar speakers dot com, they have great prices. They have one cab(modern series) that's a clone of a Orange cab. The guy in this video plays through an Avatar cab, too.
AB Custom Audio are also great. They sell their cabs speakerless but the 212's start at $115.
@GallowayJesse Thank you so much :). But the problem is that I live in Azores, on the middle of the fuckin ocean. I'll have to find way to buy those cabs. But thanks anyway :)
I know this review is for thew Bugera 6262, but what's your opinion on the Avatar cabs? I was planning on ordering one, but I wanted some input first.
(read below comment first) so i plugged it into my marshall mg100 2x12 combo and played it just through those speakers...which are shit. the 6262 doesn't sound like it does in your videos, the distortion is really fizzy and frankly doesn't sound that great. it has a date code of 0712, and i don't know if there is something wrong with it, or if it is just the speakers. any ideas, thanks. what speakers do you use?
hey mtuck so I have been obsessing over a 6262 for a while. I was walking to my local music store near campus to get some strings, and it just so happens there is a 6262 sitting on the ground with no price tag. i ask the guy if its sold, and he tells me its not, and its $450 bucks because they priced it before they raised the price to $500. thinking I was sent to that store at that time by the rock gods, i bought it. (continued)
you do the best reviews I have ever seen on the tube.
And believe me, I've seen a shitload of them. So thanx a bunch.. You will be saving me a shitload of hard-earned money too.
Finally an affordable product to rival the ridiculously over-priced stuff out there.
I've bought so much crap over the years having been promised the best, it's not even funny. Having seen your reviews ,I'm now sort of lost between the 1990 and the 6262. I use quite some pedals, so which one fits me?
What the main difference is between the 6262 and the 6260 because there are no comparisons between the two that I've found, and the Bugera video reviews of the two are almost completely identical....
If you did a video comparison of the two , that would be awesome, but a thorough answer will work too. Thanks, and I'm ready to buy one of them as soon as I find out the difference.
So, I got one more question and then I'll shut up. I was going to get this, but then I noticed that the 333 is the same price, and it has THREE channels, which is good for me because I can use two distortion channels, one for lead and one for rhythm.
My question is, what is the main difference between the 333 and the 333XL??
@fenderstrat81991 the 333xl has a noise gate and an XL switch button that acts as a bottom end boost on the crunch and lead channel. the 333xl also has a presence control. the 333 lacks those components but still sounds good. for the extra 50 bucks tho u might as well go with the 333xl or the 6262 since they have independent eqs and a ton of features
hi mate i liked ur little funny story do you reckon the bugera would be good for hardrock/metal such as high gain and overdrive or is it more suited to classic rock and blues cus mesas are to expensive and marshalls are to muddy for clean. do u think the bugera 6262 head and a marshall 4 by 12 cab would sound good because they both are an affordable half stack check my vids to see the sound im after. cheers m8
Hey man, I really want to buy this Head but I want to know where you found it for $550 dollars. The only site I can find that's selling it is Bugera's own website and its $800 dollars. Please help me out so I can get on to playing this thing!!!
That Marshall DSL 100 is built every bit as cheap as Bugera. Don't sound as good either. I just despise that name Bugera. Shoulda called it something else. That name alone repulsed me for a while but the tone won me over.
Hey there mtuck5150 ! Love this vid all the way from Germany !!!! Been looking for a new Amp ! Now i know the one !!!! I play in a Hard Rock band here in Germany called theCROP ... ya ever in town lets hook up !!! Hand held high -----Peace bro Tim
I've got the 212 combo and love it... I had to adjust my pups before I got what I was looking for (shitty old inf3&4) but its dialed in and sounds amazingly articulate and heavy.
Not sure why you would suggest vintages when you can get some veterans for half the price and essentially the same quality.
Can some one please help me im looking for a new amp and i cant decide on one a Blackstar Venue Series 40 or a Peavey 6505 112 or a Bugera 6262 combo. So if any one knows any thing about thees amps and could help me decide please comment me back.
I bought a Splawn Quickrod for $1850. I hated it . I sold it after 6 months of fighting with the damn thing. I used the cash to buy a Peavey JSX for about $900. Best decision ever. I even thought my old BUDGET amp (B-52 AT100) sounded better than the boutique Splawn. The lesson is simple. NEVER buy an amp without playing it first, with YOUR guitars. It is ABSOLUTELY possible to pay a ton of cash for an amp that doesn't sound good with YOUR gear.
Hey man, just added you as a friend and subscribed to your videos. I have made my decision to get the Bugera 6262 after seeing that its only 100 more dollars than the 1990 I was going to buy. I'm on a tight budget, so what would be the most ideal cabinet to get with this head?
I've really been looking at the B-52 LS 412 and the Bugera Cabinets, but I don't know what would be the best to get. You seem like you really know what your talking about, so what would you recommend besides a used cab?
anyone hear about the TRIREC from Bugera? basically a MESA/BOOGIE Triple Rectifier clone. its supposed to be launched in time for my b-day (end of may) cant wait! XD. the website has pics and info of it, check it out!
Good review, but seriously, that fucking drum beat in the background is pissing me off. Your voice is good to listen at, but that drum shit is just FAIL
I bought the amp and the head that came with it, but when I tried to play fast rhythms; the sound becomes distorted. The clean channel is sweet, but other than that; the amp and cab sucks.
I know the guys in From Tomorrow (look them up on myspace) use Bugera live and their bassist suggested to me into getting on. I got the 1990 and I'm very happy with it.
Great review man, i just got a Bugera 6262 2x12 combo. LOVE the amp so far. I'm thinking though i might wanna change the stock speakers. Sound kinda bland. You're the reason i got a Bugera. THANKS!
All depends on what cab you put it through - the speakers on the combo aren't very good so the head will sound much better with a nice cab! But if you end up putting the head through a crap cab then there won't be much difference between the head and combo.
Well it all depends what combo your talking about, Vox ac30 come with the option for Celestion alnico blue speakers, those things are $300 a pop, one of the most expensive speakers out there, But most metal amps, come with shit speakers in combos
I see you everywhere hating on bugera. If you have all these amps better than bugera why aren't you playing them or are you simply trying to justify an over priced purchase?
alrighty sir heres the question. i am very very very interested in the amp...but how does it do at lower volume level? i live with my parents and alot of times when i want too play i cant crank it super loud like we all want to.
more than words by extreme awesome song and playing and i need to ask you do you play that thing for gigs or do you play that in the house only and how does it sound at low volumes because i want moderately cheap all tube amp for house playing and occasional studio use
I know you're heavily in favor of the 6262. However, many reviews I've read comment on faulty soldering, electrical problems, and overall reliability/durability issues. This amp seems very versatile and I'm very interested, yet I'm concerned about what some people have said. Any comments? Also, do you have the Bugera 412H cab or something else? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Er, everything is different. I get yelling PS3s are soo much better then xboxs-they never break! I know a guy whos gone through 3 xboxs yes they do break but its luck of the draw. I've had my xbox for 3 years and it has never broke-I play intensly on it. Its the same with everything
i did tons of research on different amps and this the true "most bang for your buck" deal so im basically sold on this amp. i getting one in the end of January(can we say tax refund lol) so thanks mtuck cuz your review basically gave me that final push to make that initial decision to get my first half stack
I got a question. First off, great review on the 6262, you sold me on it. Second, I was also thinking of getting the 6262 212 amp, what are your thoughts on it?
it probably isnt much different tone-wise than the head, the only thing thatll be different between this guys tone and a new 6262-212's tone are the speakers, and you can always replace those later if u want but i dont think itll be necessary
ive got the combo of this and it sounds like fizzy shit compared to this guys. would new speakers and an EQ pedal in the loop would make a difference?
@CleverDjembe depending on what style of playing i think many musicians would choose the mesa and the peavey over the marshall when it comes to metal. it would just make sense, unless you are tone def and/or you are just wanting to buy the high dollar name instead of the most wanted sound. name me some good metal bands that use marshall over peavey.. im sure there arent too many. maybe testament
Especially if that mesa is a stiletto deuce 2 or a mesa electra dyne. Marshalls are kinda 'meh' with me..in this day and age, there are too many companies doing cooler shit than Marshall..Mesa's versatility, Bogner's tone, Bugera's economy etc.
Oh well I must be getting poorer and poorer, as I first bought a Marshall then peavey, and now a bugera 6260. But couldn't give a Fuck as I love the amp, also I still own the previous amps,

Dude,
you do the best reviews I have ever seen on the tube.
I use quite some pedals, so which one fits me?

man why the hell do you say that the logo is alloy metal? it's plastic dude.. don't throw your credibility down the drain.. quit the bull..
put some comments in the video correcting what's wrong.
anyway.. it's a nice amp and good job on your vid playing Panama ;)

The combo of this sounds terrible, there is no low end at all even with the bass at 10.
Brett21794 1 year ago
What the main difference is between the 6262 and the 6260 because there are no comparisons between the two that I've found, and the Bugera video reviews of the two are almost completely identical....
If you did a video comparison of the two , that would be awesome, but a thorough answer will work too. Thanks, and I'm ready to buy one of them as soon as I find out the difference.

So, I got one more question and then I'll shut up. I was going to get this, but then I noticed that the 333 is the same price, and it has THREE channels, which is good for me because I can use two distortion channels, one for lead and one for rhythm.
My question is, what is the main difference between the 333 and the 333XL??
fenderstrat81991 1 year ago

I've got the 212 combo and love it... I had to adjust my pups before I got what I was looking for (shitty old inf3&4) but its dialed in and sounds amazingly articulate and heavy.
Not sure why you would suggest vintages when you can get some veterans for half the price and essentially the same quality.

It is ABSOLUTELY possible to pay a ton of cash for an amp that doesn't sound good with YOUR gear.

you should try the Carvin V3 it has the cleans and also has the gain its great!
hiian123 1 year ago
Hey man, just added you as a friend and subscribed to your videos. I have made my decision to get the Bugera 6262 after seeing that its only 100 more dollars than the 1990 I was going to buy. I'm on a tight budget, so what would be the most ideal cabinet to get with this head?
I've really been looking at the B-52 LS 412 and the Bugera Cabinets, but I don't know what would be the best to get. You seem like you really know what your talking about, so what would you recommend besides a used cab?
fenderstrat81991 1 year ago
anyone hear about the TRIREC from Bugera? basically a MESA/BOOGIE Triple Rectifier clone. its supposed to be launched in time for my b-day (end of may) cant wait! XD. the website has pics and info of it, check it out!

THANKS!
ChottyT 2 years ago
hey dude do you know the advantage of buying the head separately over buying a combo? Is the tone effected
conorthealien 2 years ago
All depends on what cab you put it through - the speakers on the combo aren't very good so the head will sound much better with a nice cab! But if you end up putting the head through a crap cab then there won't be much difference between the head and combo.
RedRecover 2 years ago
what would be a nice cab and how much would I be looking to spend at least
cheers
conorthealien 2 years ago
Well it all depends what combo your talking about, Vox ac30 come with the option for Celestion alnico blue speakers, those things are $300 a pop, one of the most expensive speakers out there, But most metal amps, come with shit speakers in combos

kyleshut 2 years ago

MadSciontist28 2 years ago
its still working???
savierq 2 years ago
I got a question. First off, great review on the 6262, you sold me on it. Second, I was also thinking of getting the 6262 212 amp, what are your thoughts on it?
quantumshift5 2 years ago
it probably isnt much different tone-wise than the head, the only thing thatll be different between this guys tone and a new 6262-212's tone are the speakers, and you can always replace those later if u want but i dont think itll be necessary
wolfeman85 2 years ago
dont! dont get the combo!
its hopless, the speakers are bad.
get a decent 2 by 12 and the 6262 head.
not the combo.
my opinion
DannyVss 2 years ago
Good advice. I've tried any of their 212's but I did get a 412 and it was horrible (I'm assuming they're using the same speakers in both).
mtuck5150 2 years ago
ive got the combo of this and it sounds like fizzy shit compared to this guys. would new speakers and an EQ pedal in the loop would make a difference?

mtuck5150 2 years ago
@Pooxer Get it biased properly. I dont like the combos either.

i highly disagree with your comment that the peavey is the cheap mans mesa or marshall, that is bold.
MrYewtoobnoob 2 years ago 4
@MrYewtoobnoob
Probably 90% of guitarists would pick mesa/marshall over peavey if given one for free, so it's not bold, it's true.
CleverDjembe 2 years ago
@CleverDjembe depending on what style of playing i think many musicians would choose the mesa and the peavey over the marshall when it comes to metal. it would just make sense, unless you are tone def and/or you are just wanting to buy the high dollar name instead of the most wanted sound. name me some good metal bands that use marshall over peavey.. im sure there arent too many. maybe testament
MrYewtoobnoob 2 years ago
hate eternal, but i agree mesa and peavey are better for metal.
JonnyMcTyler 2 years ago
Especially if that mesa is a stiletto deuce 2 or a mesa electra dyne. Marshalls are kinda 'meh' with me..in this day and age, there are too many companies doing cooler shit than Marshall..Mesa's versatility, Bogner's tone, Bugera's economy etc.
