The Air Force did not have the Coin Ceremony in 1977 when I went thru BMT. I am glad to see this honor is now placed on the finest military service that our country has.
Wow, so many things are different in less than 10 years. We were presented our coin at the end of the retired "Warrior Week," back when it was 6 (7) weeks. At least the coin looks the same! I wonder how BMT will change in another 10 years?
I'm really glad that the USAF BMT has a Coin Ceremony. We did not have that when I went though BMT. It was something that you got if you were assign to a squadron that issued them. Not every squadron had them in the 80s, only flight and special mission squadrons got coins and when you went to the Enlisted club you would know who had them and who didn't. From 86 to 06 I have collected a lot of coins, but I will never have a BMT Squadron 3704 Flight 150 coin.
This was almost 10 years ago for me... unreal how fast time goes. I'm also dubbed as the one airman who got away with tell his TI to watch his language and I'm not kidding... haha. Though to my credit, I didnt realize it was him as I was in the latrine in a stall and he was there late shaving at the sink. Though I feel bad for the other guy who he kicked the door in on...
@FamilyOfMan1975 It's the "Airman's Coin". You get it symbolize your transition from Trainee to Airman, sort of in the way Marines get their EGA when they graduate Boot.
I got out of MEPS a little over 3 weeks ago and am now waiting for my job/ship date. Not a day goes by that I don't sit and daydream about this day. Great video.
@norbyguy Please tell me how MEPS works and whatever? I need to know things about it and what to do for it so i can go there and see if they have a CCT job available.
thats not cool man.. the army didnt give me a coin after graduatin bct.. n ours was 10 weeks not 8.. so different but still cool..

31 days until I ship to bmt. Every morning after I do my exercises I recite the airman's creed in my head. I simply cannot wait.
