I have the SR10e camera and I want to join multiple mts files into one only. Is there any program that does it automatically instead of rendering the video files with premiere, vegas,...?. I have tried Tsmuxer but there is always a sound delay. I have talked to other people with the same camera but in NTSC and they can join multiple files with tsmuxer with no delay in the sound.
oh god bro please help me out i can upload the videos but wen i want to burn it to dvd the quality messes up can you help me plleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez i would thankful to you. i dnt knw whr u live othrwise i would hv paid u lol
1080p uses more memory. the biggest diffrence, is that if the camera is shaking, you might get some ''weird'' pictures using intergalacing.
I have 4 cameras, and one of them, cannon xh-a1 is set to intergalacing instead of progressive. I just prefer it. but the hdr-sr12/11 cant use 1080p, its not saying that in the manual, the package, nor the camera itself ;)
I havent been using the hdr-sr12 very much, but I love it. But sony is comming up with the same camera with a new lens, perhaps you should wait and read some reviews about it? It is gonna have a faster focus than the hdr-sr12. the focus is not a big problem, not for me. but it can take up to 5 seconds for it to focus. but it also has a manual focus.
thx for the info. I probably mainly use it for trips/vacations, sports events just the general stuff. I do alot of bike track riding so might use it filming stuff like that also. But i might just look around and wait for the next sony one. I checked out the xh-a1 but that seems like its for serious type filming movie stuff.
the hdr-sr12 might be perfect for you:) I use it for the stuff you said but instead of bike track riding, I use it for paintball. but filming bike track riding, might be a problem because of the intergalace...
but I dont think it would be too much of a problem;)
i was contemplating buying this mostly positive comments i read about it til i read your comment here. So i might just still look around it seems like a great camcord. How much is the 12e do u know btw? thx
@elliotmotocross hi i have a handycam hdr sr11re i lost softwere cd of my handy cam pls can u help me if u have this cd make one copy for me i will b thanksfull to you without that cd i cant transefer my data in pc pls reply me
@jonyzasmine You dont need the cd to transfer your files to ur comp! You just cnnect the usb cable & choose usb computer connect from the camcorder menu!
I wish it had a lens hood & most importantly, a focus RING. It should also have more than just 16mbps on recording 1920x1080i. Can this camera record in 720p, or any sort of progressive mode?!
I believe the only real difference between the SR10 and SR11, apart from a few features, is the HD size. Quality remains the same across all three camcorders.
is there any different between the old SR5E and SR10? was thinking to buy the old version or the new one cause it look like no different with 40GB and cheaper price.
very good review and very interesting on the 3 sony camcorders from SR10/11/12 im thinking of wanting to buy the SR12 simly because bigger screen lcd and a massive 120GB in which i could able to record allways on high definition and allways plenty to kee on recording.
Its pricey tho. I dont no either smaller cameras are the trendy now or not. they do look abit like a toy. But yet not sure what i should do to buy. im yet thinking the SR12. what u think ? no tape no dvd. u can later conect tv.
thanks..ive desided what i want. im going for the pro JVC GZ-HD7 camcorder its a cheap pro camcorder cheaper then that sony and its media used for some.; but thanks for the tip otherwise :)
being a male with larger hands i found the sr10 sized camcorders too small and my hand would wrap around it and make it awkward to use the top mounted zoom.
the sr11 is bigger than the sr10 and the sr40-300 series, the best way too see it is go check it out in a store near you before you buy.
it's just the video, i have a sr11 and it is taller and wider than the sr10. the finish on the sr11 and sr12 is also much nicer than the sr10. unless you absolutely need the extra 60gb i would just buy a sr11.
blah blah blah, let's see the cameras break already!

Sony is super overpriced $1000+ for a family camcorder (120gb), what a rip off. You need at least a 120gb for a vacation trip.

Who ever said it was a "family camcorder".
This camera is great, and worth its price.

i = interlaced
p = progressive
progressive is really what you want. I would do a wikipedia on interlaced and progressive. youtube comments are limited.

I just bought the HDR-SR10 but have not taken it out the box.
I am considering returning it to get the HDR-SR11...
Would it be worth it???
Secondly, are there any good camcorders that record in 1080p rather than 1080i that are under $2000????
Thanks in advance!

kalaniman1 3 years ago
Bought it last month for oversea trip. The battery came with the cam only last for 90 minutes. so I've got a spare one that almost last 7 hours.
The quality of video recorded (1080i) wasn't that great compare to those broadcasts on HD TV.
The auto focus is often annoying. The still image quality (7MP)wasn't great either but I like the widescreen feature.
Thanks esamza and RagstoRich for your comments.

Yeah, it's a HDD difference. I think the 11E has 60GB & as you said the 12E has 120GB.

I have a few qestions to ask before making purchase this handycam.
1. what is the different between Sony HDR-SR12E and the HDR-SR12 without the "E"?
2. what file format does it record onto hard drive? AVI, MPEG..?
3. if battery is full, how many hours of usage untill battery run out?
thanks
westcam 3 years ago
hey, hope this helps:
there's no difference between the 'E' models and 'without E' models, E just means Europe.
Formats Supported : HD: MPEG4 AVC/H.264 SD: MPEG2.
sorry but not sure about battery life

i think it´s some strange format in this video. at 01:18 you can see that the display on the camcorder is almost a square, it should be widescreen.
