  • wow never stick your blade in the dirt man

  • @n2488 just mud really it was that wet,,so no real damage..but I hear what you say,,,

  • Good stuff thanks for the share:)

  • Cool video, friend. Good skills with only one arm - I couldn´t do this with my left arm. I´m impressed!

    Greetings,

    Chris

  • Tough Mo'fo !

  • i agree with everyone else...great job. hell of a fight you got in you...

  • @SpartanJohns Thanks for your comment...It might be a bit of Celt in me..I like a good challenge...

  • Big commitment, well done. It looked very damp there and doing a one armed shelter of that size to get out of the elements is a great challenge. Thanks for taking this one on.

  • @Ghostkamo thanks Kamo..I really do value 5-6 hrs sleep..what if a shelter took 1/2hr to make but leaked? What kind of misery/negative mind set could come out of that?So with a sterling effort ,a half decent shelter in 2-3 hrs could get you through to an hour before sun up instead of four hours before the dawn..I think it's time well spent to get through a mentally taxing winters night..

  • great stuff! yeah, minus an arm adds tremendous difficulty to everyday tasks. I can appreciate you not waiting for a sunny cheery day to do this.

  • @usframe I know...the amount of debris shelters I see made on a glorious Autumn morning with shin deep beech leaf litter and fallen trees all around is amazing..that's why I do like the Dual Survival guys who used platforms in a swamp,a vine hammock in a rain forest or simply bunked under a bush..each was the easiest/most appropriate at the time..in this area,as damp as it was, this was my solution..

    thanks for your comment bro..

  • not only did you deliver, you made it fun to watch. great!

  • @q1qeu thanks for your comment..I do attempt to bring my sense of humour in and make it all more enjoyable..regards ..Scott

  • hey,,i was going to say something really bad but,,,could you not give that dirthtbikerman some coco or anything to keep in camp!!! maybee you should have roasted that tellie for him!!! ...lol just kidding around,;) cheers.

  • @angrybuck1 I know ..it was a noisy b%£"%&* wasn't it? ..he seemed to start when the camera turned on..a bit annoying but other than a Muzzy broad point through his leg what can you do?ha ha ha !

  • good stuff and good test:) cheers...thanks for the ride.

  • @angrybuck1 thanks for your comment..I do try to bring a slightly over the top feel to my vid..more fun for everyone..and it should have a more memorable effect..

    cheers

  • Great challenge it must have been extremely difficult but you did great.

  • @EDINBURGSTAR Thanks Joe..it was so wet,,but never give up..keep trying eh?

    have a great week!

  • Great, from Cliff Richard to realize how good it is to have 2 arms, ...very bad conditions, but very good shelter. Good work. Have a good time Sepp PS: African proverb, practice with the left hand, as long as you still have the right hand...

  • @Waldhandwerk Danke Sepp..I always try to achieve something a little bit bigger or more involved..but that's me, from my load out to my knives..more HumVee than Fiat 500 ! ha ha!

    cheers

    Scott

  • ... this looks really difficult. Good job nevertheless!

    Tim

  • @steintanz Thanks Tim..I do think an important part of this shelter was addressing the sodden floor by building a raised platform. a lot more work,,but without it it wouldn't be responsible of me posting a vid that some newbie might replicate and then have a miserable night in caked in mud..so hopefully this will show that a shelter built with wisdom and a planning can protect from the elements enough for a few hours sleep..and then the next day, improve your situation with a clear mind.
