@MCR1235 ARE YOU SO OLD? :D IF YOUR G,M LIVED IN 1790'S HI HI... JUST JOKING. UNDERSTAND YOU FEEL CONNECTED TO THE MOVIE. I WOULD BE IF MY G,M APPEARED THERE TOO
Robespierre and his jerkus friends suck for subjecting a kid to the kind of torture that they did, even if his parents were ineffective leaders. I mean, they call that catechism? (Not that I'm a Catholic, but still, they were actually crazy enough to change an entire religious system just because they were some cowards who initially wanted to lead France themselves and still be "middle-class?") What kind of stuff is that?!
The man who plays Robespierre is perfect. Especially when he is at the Temple prison and examining the Prince ... when he talks about the defiance in his royal eyes, his own eyes open wider for one split second ... he gives me the creeps
Ooh man...he looks so pissed at 6:34. Can't say that I blame him though. Poor man =( So madly in love, and so heartbroken at the same time. What a terrible role he plays =( But Anthony Andrews plays it brilliantly.
I am so obsessed with The Scarlet Pimpernel. (hence, my username). I was wondering if anyone has any clue where I could purchase a ring like the one Anthony wore in this movie. I've spent hours searching but I can't find it. :( it would mean a lot to me if anyone had any clue where I could find it. Thanks! :)
@subtlefighter It gets worse according to history because the real son of Louis XVI died in that rathole prison from the worse type of abuse by the revolution.
6:34 The music with the coldness of his expression and the sadness of hers, such great acting! Thanks again for posting
