  • I am in so much pain, because I lost mine on monday, I found her in My and she fall from a tree and had a bad broken back, she was suffering, so the vet put her to sleep, and i am like you missing her so much

  • Just wondering, How do they sleep at nigh, or where do they sleep.

  • Animals come into our lives for a reason and it is such a privilege and honour to share their lives, love and joy they bring.

  • Pritty Animals I might say <3

  • I use to have a pet squirrel, I named him crash, cause my dad worked for a tree company, and one day he cut a tree down and Crash came crashing down in the tree. This was like in third grade when i got him, I took him in and nursed him back to health with oatmeal water and goat milk. Sadly he just passed away last month :'( god i miss him so much :'(

  • Do you have pictures of your squirrel habitat. I'm taking care of an unreleasable squirrel and yours looks well made

  • cute ! my squirrel he was six years old

  • I have 3 squirrels named Big Momma and Hairy and Whatchamacallit. We can pet Big Momma. We use too have 4 squirrels but Foxy (# 4) got lost and we are worried about him.

  • I have 2 squirrels. They live outside in the wild but come to my house everyday and let me hold them and they come inside the house and know tricks.

  • That's so cool cause the wild ones are unaproachable.

  • Where do you get a pet squirrel??? Please tell me please!!!!

  • @animalvidsforyou - Whirligig fell to the ground from his nest in a backyard tree. We fed and nurtured him and then decided to keep him as a pet. He is very much in tune with all the goings on around the house and loves attention. I do not know how you would acquire a pet squirrel otherwise. It is not legal in all states to have a pet squirrel, so check your states wildlife codes. You might also consider checking out the website - thesquirrelboarddotcom. Good Luck!

  • @mmmatthewww ooh so sweet it looks like a miniature cat really!

  • @animalvidsforyou feed them and theyll wanna nest in youre garden, i had a juvenile sleeping in my home cause i fed him everyday, he preferred to sleep in my home than sleeping with his family!

  • sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute

  • Too cute - bless you for giving him a loving environment!

  • @mrkibblecat no? You can like find them in the park but wild squirrel are kinda aggresive

  • do you need a license to have a pet squirrel?

  • People say its illegal to capture. And not to kill them. I think it's illegal to kill them.

  • So cute!!! I want a squirrel so badly!

  • He is adorable!

  • It's a criminal offense to release grey squirrels captured or found, back into the wild here..one of our cruel laws means they have to be killed or kept in captivity. I think its wonderful you rescued him and gave him a home..he is obviously domesticated now and safe to handle...be careful tho kids and dont try and handle or capture wild squirrels..they dont make good pets at all.

  • Amazing video! I love grey squirrels and usually adopt a wild one every year that visits to feed on my balcony... i never try to touch or handle wild ones though (very dangerous) this one in the video is obviously hand reared and tame.. their claws are ridiculously sharp and teeth are lethal.

  • So cuuuuute!!!!!!!

  • awweee <3 Cute ^_^

  • @008devlin

lol I know! I'm sorry. You didn't hurt me at all. I'm not that fragile. I was just thinking about other comments I've read where the focus is always on the female and the main subject, like animals, mainly, are ignored. I've just always noticed that some men do that. It's hard on the internet, too, because you read a comment in the wrong tone, but got what you meant.

  • @008devlin

I'm a female. Sorry if I confused what you said. Most men always have that on their minds to where they can't even pay attention to the main focus of the video, which was the squirrel, so I got a little bothered. Just a mistake.

  • @008devlin

No, the squirrel. Perverts on every You tube video. It's scary.

  • Oh my goodness, what a little sweetheart!! ♥♥♥♥ Little angel.

  • what type of squirrel is this

  • he realy hates that bunny :3

  • omg hes adorable!

  • Cute!!!!!!!

  • someone lubbsssss his stuffed toy :) <3

  • Fun pets. Sharp teeth and claws. My pet squirrel Nutella is very playful and sociable. Don't mess with her nuts though.

  • @Nutellasquirrel - you are so right on all accounts!

  • @Nutellasquirrel they get angry then? :)

  • Is that a baby squirrel or an adult because I researched some and the site said adult squirrels may become feisty when they grow up because they want to be released into the world to live their natural life as intended, but I would like to acquire a squirrel.

  • He is so gorgeous!

  • some advice to people that find wild animals if they aren't native to the state you live in DONT take them to a rescue shelter they by law put them to sleep

  • snuggle!

  • I want a squirrel as a pet, too.

But then again, I also want a falcon or an eagle as a pet...hmpf. :\

  • any advice i found a baby squirrel on the sidwalk he keep on going into the road and was abaded by his mom so now i have him he hasent opeaned his eyes yet but i am bodle feeding him atm when should i stope and what should i feed him?

  • @Kole208 - Good for you for rescuing the baby squirrel. You may want to consider finding a squirrel rescue center or wildlife rehab in your area. These folks are uniquely qualified and knowledgeable about feeding and habitat. If you really want to raise your rescued squirrel yourself, and that is fine too if you are dedicated, you should check out the website - thesquirrelboard (dot com) - you will find everything you need to know about caring for your squirrel there. Hope that helps good luck!

  • Do You let her out when You go to walk or something like that or is he just a pet for AT HOME?

  • GREAT enclosure. i think im gonna build one of those.

  • I want a squirrel now... D:

  • Vomit inducing cuteness.

  • My pet squirrel we had for 6 years. Till my ex got custody of it cause she told the judge she paid for the cage. I loved him, He was fun and got real Fat. He loved those bags of mixed shelled nuts you buy at Christmas time.

  • I heard the nails on a squirrel are razor sharp. Is there any truth to this ? I want one

  • do you have blueprints maybe? lol

  • Hi I just, had a friend drop a baby squirrel on me I was wondering where you got your cage from is it just bird or a Hand made.

  • He's so cute and he has a wonderful home :)

  • I like ur enclosure

  • i want one :(

  • thats cute

  • That squirrel is so precious! I wanna cuddle him :- } I love the pen you have for him--it looks like loads of fun for him!

  • i have a pet squirrel and i put the vids up on youtube. how do u get so many views??

  • wow amazing. You really have it trained well. My girlfriend just found a baby squirrel that fell out a tree and she's raising it also. doing good so far.

  • He is precious. Perhaps most squirrels would not do so well in human captivity, but he looks happy and healthy. On elucky little guy!

  • that really cute

  • Very CUTE!

  • Cute!

  • This is the most awesome squirrel vid on YT. I have seen many. The closest I have come to one of these adorable animals was at the university where they would take food from anyone's hand kind enough to offer it. This little guy LOVES you. lol.

  • You are so lucky!

  • I think that it the good idea to keep the squirrel as a pet. They usually do not survive because thay are domesticated and tame. And they woiuld miss youif you let him go. I saw a squirrel who was released and he was not happy, if he could cry ne would. i cryed when I saw that. I do not know why somw people do ot see it. May it is not true for every squirrel, but for some-is true.

  • are you listening to brad paisley?

  • @CANNIBALEX - yes, that is Brad Paisley coming through the TV airwaves, that was set to CMT, and he just happened to be on when this was being filmed. However, we are big Brad Paisley fans.

  • Do they ever try to run away? please reply

  • @sammyisaweiner - Whenever Whirligig gets out of his cage, he always finds his way back home. His cage is his world and his secure place and where he seems very content to be. Once when he was less than a year old we had him out in the back yard, when he jumped onto an large Oak Tree and ran all the way to the top of the tree. At that moment we felt that very likely Whirligig would seize this opportunity of new found freedom, but he ran back down the tree and jumped back into our arms.

  • He looks just like mine... and he seems to like head scratches as much as she does.

Can I ask where you got that "hutch", of sorts? I've been trying to find or build something like it.

  • @RyderJ716 ~ We built the cage that Whirligig lives in. The internal dimensions are 6' tall by 3' square. We made the door big enough so that we could easily put in new tree limbs which we replenish on a regular basis. The cage stands 8' overall. The entire construction is common 2x4" lumber available at any Home Depot or Lowes, or your favorite lumber yard. Thanks for your interest!

  • @mmmatthewww ~ I love the cage you have for him as well!! I''m going to try to build one like that for my little guy but I have one question for you. How do you have the bottom of the cage set up so that you can clean it? Is there a piece that slides out so you can clean it and change urine soaked bedding? Im kinda stumped as to what I sould do for that and any advice would be much appreciated. Mine is a ground squirrel and needs something besides wire for the bottom of his cage.

  • @mmmatthewww ~ I love the cage you have for him as well and am trying to build one like it for my little guy. I have a ground squirrel though and need avice on how you built the bottom of your cage. Does it pull out so you can clean it? I need one that has a solid bottom. I'm not sure what I should do and any help you could offer would be great!

  • i am wanting to adopt a pet squirrel. do you have any advice? also i have been doing research but every site i get on tells me to feed the squirrel something completely different.. a few have even contradicted what the others said, could you tell me what you feed yours? thanks

  • @geterdone994 ~ The Squirrel Board sells a complete nutritional bar for squirrels that contains every vitamin and mineral necessary for the health of a squirrel. They also have the recipe on their site so that you can make them yourself. Our squirrel is very healthy and has a beautiful coat of fur, and he has existed on a daily diet of an avocado slice, sunflower seeds, roasted-unsalted peanuts, dried corn, and basically any raw vegetable. We also include anything indigenous to our area. Thanks!

  • Can I have ur pet squirrel

  • Awwww

  • That's cute, but I think it's cruel to just keep one. They need to interact with their own species. I imagine that's why he is so drawn to the stuffed animal. He wants to interact with another squirrel. Plus that might be a great enclosure for pet rats or other small animals, but not for a squirrel. It's way too small unless you let him out to roam daily.

  • @MadonnaAgain ~ We appreciate your sentiments, and certainly, nothing can replace a natural life in a natural environment. We were not looking to add a 'pet' squirrel to lives, but he literally dropped into it when he fell out of his nest and was rescued from the clutches of our cat. We rehabbed him over time, and considered taking him to a release program , but decided to keep him as a pet instead. He does get to roam daily and seems very happy. Thanks for your concern!

  • @mmmatthewww hi i was wandering if you could send make a quick video on that cage i want to build 1 similar to that 1 :) please and thank you

  • Squirrels are awesome. I have one too named Dr. Death Defying. She's really friendly but we had to let her go :/ She still stays close to our house and let's us pet her and stuff though, so it's really awesome :)

  • Aww that's awesome, I have a squrriel too. Her names Dr. Death Defying. She was dying outside, fell out of the nest or something and my dog found her and brought her in. But then we nursed her back to health and let her free. She still lives close to home and is very soical and friendly with us, it's really cool. Squrriels are epic.

  • @raj4493 You did the right thing. I've been feeding two neighborhood litters since the beginning of last year's harsh winter. Some didn't make it, due to all kinds of reasons. But a couple of them are now fully grown. Throughout the cold, snowy months, I put nuts outside the dry door & by my windows. On window screens, they're just a few inches from my face. Beautiful little creatures. But they are meant to be wild & free, not captive for our own enjoyment. Watching them from afar is enough.

  • i want oneeeeee, they r soo koool

  • I just found out that my country is the only (?) country that doesn't allow squirrels as pets....

  • I too have a pet squirrel ,, well 2 actually they are such wonderful pets ! I am also a member of the squirrel board !! Thanks for sharing !

  • @sherbear59 WHERE can i buy pet squriels without rabies

  • @sherbear59 Im not being mean or anything, but when i read that you are a member of a "squirrel board" I LOLed haha!!

  • I want a pet Squirrel, how do I obtain one and where are instructions and properly raising one?!

  • Can you little box train squirrels?

  • I really want a pet squirrel.

  • He is quite the hopper! Cute lil bugger

  • Wow, how cute

both the squirrel and the girl =P

  • I remember nursing this squirrel back to health when I was a kid <3 it was fun and cute and we released it sadly...nature took its course and my cat got to it -.-; But I wonder what itd be like to have one as a pet..seems fun :3

  • When I watched this my dog went nuts when he heard that stuffed animal saying like "iii"

  • 1:52 squirrel just chillin'

  • can u potty train it?

  • i just seeded this video exactly 29 times this day

  • we fed our baby squirrel using a plastic eye dropper with puppy formula. TheSquirrelBoard (a dot com website) is a great site with everything you need to know about raising and caring for squirrels. Good Luck!

  • I found one today it looks about 4-5 weeks old it has one eye open. But I'm not sure what to feed it. can you tell me what I should get it? Thank you! P.S I named it Alvin lol

  • that is so cute

  • well i like your video.Look my chanel at VALJEVACJ. You will lovet. But she is missing.Just one day play outside and never back. How much you know about squirrel.Did she go and back.Almost on year she is missng.I found her baby on street. And she was in my house for 6 month. After i release out but she still coming in my house all time. And just missing.Did you know cat like kill swuirrel.

  • omg i want one now.

  • Ohh My gosh that freaking adorable! I had a pet squirrel once and it was a very fun time.

  • Do you have any fear that he will run away?

  • if that squirrel and the stuffed rabbit make out they would make a squabbit

  • I wish I had one they're awesome pets.

  • i wish i found a squirrel lol

  • Great job. keep it up.

  • great video and great cage

thank you for share this with us

I myself feed some wild squirrels arround my house

they come and eat from my hand (they even enter my house) however they will never ever allow me to to touch them as you did

at the minimum fast movement of my hand or feet they become alert

    I am jealous of you

at first I was only giving nuts to them but now I give them many other food as potato, carrot, apple etc

  • Can they be trained in anyway? Like potty trained, or to behave, and do tricks? I wouldn't be surprised if they're one of the smartest animals.

  • @legoman844 ~ yes, our Squirrel is very social 99.5% of the time. He makes it very obvious when he is agitated and does not want to be bothered, and conversely, it is also very obvious when he is receptive to socializing. Overall, Whirligig is a very happy and fun-loving squirrel. Thanks for your question and I hope that answers it.

  • @mmmatthewww Are squirrels good inhome pets? i have 2 cats and just want something to really put my time in and create a friend(my cats are very independent) but anyways, ive been looking at animals like this for some time now such as lynx's and other bigger cats and i ran across a squirrel video and was wondering if a squirrel would be a fun and caring pet. please let me know, thank you

  • For anyone who loves squirrels as much we my husband and I do, I've started painting squirrel paintings - in the style of Pop Surrealism. Thanks for this video, our squirrels are smart, but I didn't know about having them as pets!

  • aw, what a sweet baby. looks like you have a happy squirrel. ^^

  • I lov that you seem to know that enrichment is key to keeping a wild animal as a friend. I use the term friend simply because I dont' think its possible to turn a wild animal into a pet, but he obviously loves you, and you've done a wonderful job keeping him happy. You are very lucky to have such a wonderful pet. I just hope that people know that you shouldn't keep squirrels as pets...I'd hate to see a rise in the market for squirrels and money greedy monsters stealing babies from their nests.

  • No wonder the squirrel is so enthusiastic about that game. Did you see who he gets to play catch with?

  • ummm now i need to quit squirrel hunting.

  • Comment removed

  • I came to watch the squirrel but something else stole my attention! ;)

  • @lmos26 Within a few seconds?

  • Comment removed

  • @lmos26 Me also !!

  • @SchwabenpowerV8 total milf :)

  • instead of volley ball it is volley squirrel I like your vid

  • where can i find baby squirls? dont they live in trees and hibernate in thw winter i might steal one from its hibernating mother

  • is it legal by taking found squirrel to be as a pet??? not to buy from pet shop?

  • If squirrels decided to become carnivorous predators one day - the rest of the species on this planet would be in sooo much trouble =P they are so fast!

  • i heard they only like a few select people. is that true cuz i get lots of squirrels around where i am but i haven't seen young ones yet

  • great song playing in the background.

  • I like the squirrel and the set up you got for him. Really neat. :)

  • i would love a house full of pet squirrels

  • lol, he's like, "GIMME DAT PLUSHIE!!!"

  • How old is he in this vid? My girl is about 3mo and def doesn't hold still to snuggle! LoL Nice cage, too, and kudos to you for taking those nails on bear skin!!!!!

  • You did well to save him!! very good!!!

  • That is the cutest damned squirrel ... I want a pet squirrel now !!!!

p.s. the girl in this video is SooOOooO SeXy :)

  • Mmm, looks like she's smuggling some acorns under her top... I want em!

  • i have a squirrel that fell out of a tree too. when they get older do the males bite?

  • @HALE2daKINGbaby I dont think they will if you train them right :)

  • i just found a squirrel, im guessing about 4 weeks old...what do i feed her?.. i was told baby's formula for babies allergic to cows milk..but ive been told now to get a certain brand of puppy replacermilk..that i wont be able to obtain until later today..what did you feed yours and what do you suggest?

  • @xbrerocksx - We highly recommend that you check out the dot com site of - the squirrel board. (thesquirrelboard) dot com. You will find all the information you could ever want on proper squirrel care and nutrition. We personally used powered puppy formula for our squirrel, which we mixed in warm water and fed using a plastic eye dropper. We fed every three to four hours. Let us know if we can offer any more advice. Good Luck!

  • ive found that the best thing to feed them is Fox Valley Squirrel Formula.....you can order it online

  • Whatz the diffrence between buying a squirrel from a pet shop or finding in Nature ?

  • i Have a question when did you found your squirrel and do you think should i go buy from a pet shop or try to find one in nature ?

  • @energymert - Our squirrel, Whirligig, fell out of his family nest and we found him on the ground as a tiny baby. We think finding a squirrel this way may help in the bonding process as you are involved in their lives at such an early stage. We are essentially the only parents he knows. We don't know much about pet shop squirrels, but it may be prudent to see if they seem happy and receptive to human contact before taking one home from the shop. Hope this information helps. Good Luck! Go4it.

  • you have a smoking body

  • @ty1977 ...Whiligig thanks you very much for the compliment! He does get the finest nutritious and healthy food, including raw nuts of various types and fresh Haas Avocado slices everyday. He also gets Slash Pine cones which he devours with gusto. Squirrels absolutely love Slash Pine cones. He also gets plenty of daily exercise both inside and outside of his cage. We think it is a combination of all those factors that has contributed to Whiligig's smoking body as you point out. Thanks again!

  • @mmmatthewww Haha thats awesome. hes pretty cool, thanks

  • @mmmatthewww

i think he met YOU have a smoking body

  • @white12rhino ~ ~ Noooooooooooooo ~ he was clearly talking about Whiligig's shapely & toned figure. An erudite and worldly gentleman knows a fine looking Squirrel when he sees one. You see.....to the untrained eye, all Squirrels look the same, ...oh, but to the cultivated eye, some Squirrels have that certain "je ne sais quoi"

  • the cage was so nice!!, youve got everything there!!!... and especialy on how the cage was designed verticaly that actualy mimics a tree

  • I just found a baby squirrel today in the bush.

    I love her.

    She is amazing.

Will get her a nice cage tomorrow but i love her running around.

    My dog also adore her.

  • I used to have a pet squirrel with my ex girlfriend. Until we broke up and she got into drugs with her new dealer boyfriend. Then the squirrel died, possibly from drugs her new boyfriend gave the squirrel.

  • @straightcleaner

    whaaaaat thaaaaaa faaaaaak?!

  • lol he is sooo cute! awesome video :)

  • si adorable!!

  • Oh my goodness, he's so adorable.

  • aww :) now i want a squirrel and ill name it sandy :) cute

  • How did you win your squirrel's friendship and how long did it take ? because I have a new 7-months red squirrel but he seems to be lazy and he doesn't like me at all ? he doesn't even eat while i'm watching him... I'll be greatful if you helped me to make a good friend with my squirrel... :(

  • @ds409 - I'm not sure what age your squirrel was when you found him, but ours was just a tiny baby. We hand fed our squirrel in the beginning and this was probably some crucialearly bonding. We also have daily physical contact with 'Whirligig' to maintain that sense of bonding. It is also important that your Squirrel is happy. A large cage with natural elements such as tree limbs & plenty of things to play with are important for your squirrel's mental well-being. Hope this helps, good luck!

  • @mmmatthewww , Well thanks for help,, but I don't know how can I make Sanjoub happy, his cage is big enough and it has some tree limbs inside and I have gave him many toys to play, but he is always sad or scared. Also he doesn't eat too much and rarely drinks water. I got him a week ago from a pet shop and they told me that he is healthy and doesn't have any disease. sorry for bothering you, but do you have any recommendations for my squirrel Sanjoub ?

  • Your pet is so cute, I like squirrels very much and I have got one few days ago,, but he does not play with me at all, and if I tried to hold him, he runs very fast to the corners of my room... how can I become a friend with my squirrel?

  • U shouldve got a squeky dog tiy ffor him to get his tevenge to all dogs and cats of the world! Hahahaha! Lol!

  • I think I'm in love <3 <3

  • how do u get em trained/

  • @reeceblitz6 - It really isn't that difficult to train a Squirrel. What is probably the most important is to hold and play with the Squirrel everyday to establish a good relationship. Once he started jumping from the cage to the toy, we continued with that exercise on a regular basis to establish a routine. It is so intriguing to see a wild rodent respond to being held and comforted and obviously enjoying the affection and bonding. Squirrels are the 7th smartest animal on the planet!

  • That is so cute.My Mom and her brother had a pet squirrel as a child. They named it Buddy.Buddy died coz they were playing chase with it and her brother accidently stepped on it.They never got over it.
