the best of the best of a few of the greatest songs of true country music ,when there was such a thing called country music! his haunting voice at the end of the song so beautiful , so full of emotion truely burns jims voice into our hearts and minds ,something very few can do, 164will you have outdone yourself on the redo of the song and i thankyou with all my heart as i know you have a great love for jim as i ! people today dont know what they missed! you keep jim alive and i thank you
@1973c0g Thank you for your very kind comment. Doing a video for a Jim Reeves song is, for me a way of showing my admiration for such an incredible singer who's career was cut so tragically short.
My Granddaughter showed me this Site. I just can't get enough of it. Use to iron and watch movies now I love to iron and listen and watch the trailers as well.
I just went and listened to Elvis"s version. It's difficult for me to tell which is the best. Jim has such a wonderful voice..He sang all of his songs very well..He is one of my top country singers or all time.So both versions are good. Elvis and Jim were both top singers in my book.
@Gryphex AMEN! I have been posting this and posting this. I just don't get how this modern stuff can even be considered "ART" or the people singing it "ARTISTS."
@sunnyskies365 Oh, bless you. There are talented people out there today, but it takes careful searching with a finely toothed comb. Back in the days of Jim Reeves and some of the other musical geniuses of his time, it seemed like talent, TRUE talent, was so much more prevalent. So many people rely on technology now to make themselves sound good. No hate on Owl City, though. I think there's a difference between fixing your voice with computers and using technology as a tool to create the sound.
I'm about 50-50 on Jim's "Originals vs. Overdubs", but this one I definitely like the overdub better. Another JR song where I like the overdub better is "Am I That Easy To Forget", also "Blue Side Of Lonesome" (although they cut out an entire verse on the overdub from the original).
Wow - what a song. This is one I am hearing for the first time and it's now a favorite for me, too. Jim sounds wonderful as always. This is so romantic and just perfect to waltz to. Jim's smooth voice is unforgettable and every song he sings is a winner. Thank you for posting. - Paula
@mypoetforever Oh me too! Especially of late I can't get enough of it! I am now buying vinyl of his and I just play him over and over again. He is like a classic car that just gains value by the minute!

i believe the original version was on the "a touch of velvet" lp - this IS a great overdub - far superior to the original arrangement!
