That's what you end up with in this world as it is. Countless hours of work, lots of engineering and scientific ingenuity along with precious resources being wasted on building road vehicles that are capable of reaching ridiculous velocities allowed nowhere in the world and burning through 26 gallons of fuel in 12 minutes. Beautiful, one more giant leap for mankind.

Nothing normal about the car? It's using an internal combustion engine. A fancy pants ICE sure, but it's nothing a literal half BILLION other cars don't have too.

What a complete waste. Imagine if engineers like these actually used their time to do something useful, like improve the technology behind electric cars, instead of making man toys for the super-rich money grubbers.

Not to mention, an electric motor can do better than any fancy pants ICE.

@JulyForToday Dude, please shut up. if you sat behind the wheel of this phenomenal car, you'd have an orgasm BEFORE you even turned it on. This is human engineering at its best. Pushing the limits and going beyind the norm. THIS is speed engineering... Its meant to go faster than the human imagination can dream of. electric cars are nice and all, safe for the environment, but if I had to choose between a hybrid or a Bugatti, I'd choose the Bugatti in a heartbeat... and I'm sure you would too.

@agent866 they probably developed the idea, and then had to work on it for five years to make it practical, its a brand new engine, five years is pretty quick to design and engine that puts out 3000 horse power if u ask me

@funkmastertraf Pretty much all gas cars have a similar energy loss. 1/3 actual power use is pretty good. Some cars are as low as 20% actual energy use. The Bugatti has four turbos, so it is reclaiming a lot of heat energy and shoving it back into the engine by way of forced induction.

1. Ettore Bugatti was Italian, so is his company not Italian as well ?

2. Then again, he founded it in France, which is where the cars are built.

3. However, it is owned by VW, which is German.

What amazes me is by the time the Chiron didn't even move on it's own, Ferdinand Piech promised the press the "W16 quadturbo awd 400kph" car, and then the engineers had to figure out how they would actually do that... Most veyron haters never even look at that fact when saying it's engineering is "unimpressive" :(
