Leonard Maltin, in his capsule review of the film in various editions of "TV Movies", was the one who declared, "Watch this film and you'll know why [David] Janssen became a fugitive!". This was produced while David was under contract to Allied Artists, and producer/director Albert Zugsmith wanted to create a "family" film. Depending on who you talk to, this was either THE worst "family movie" ever made {"The 50 Worst Films of All Time"}....or one of the best.

The critics were unkind about the film, which means the general public loved it. The child was not untalented. He was very young. One of the sweetest movies I ever watched. Whenever critics say it's an awful movie, you can bet it's a winner.
I've never seen the movie or heard the movie recording of the song. The single version which was also on a Columbia Record Club premium (given members at Christmas) is much different. Much more pop sounding. Does anyone have that?

I have not heard this song since 1973, when WPIX in NYC showed this movie on a Sunday afternoon.
I don't think that the film has been shown on tv since.

I just recalled I had an audio cassette containing this song but it was children version and more upbeat.
