Compared to the tank (which is very well done), the models of the soldiers look flat, sloppy and amaturistic. IMO he should have started with dark base colors and added several layers of highlighting afterwards, which gives a much smoother effect. The same goes for the face, the ink wash ruined it, he should have worked with several shades of skin color.
