The sad part is that Atheists know more about the bible than the believers do. The number one thing that turned me into an atheist is we believe what we are taught and what we are taught is dependent upon where we are born. Its all where you are born. I'm not quite sure who told you that sin can enter into the presence of God. God in his very nature is perfect, and as such, sin cannot even go before him. To explain hell chronologically: God is perfect, God created man, man sinned and is doomed to share in Satan's punishment of eternal damnation, God sends His Son to die on our behalf and take the punishment for sin on his shoulders. If we as humans accept Christ into our lives and hearts, we are spared from hell. Hell isn't there for kicks.

I would have to hope that these are all yes answers, because I'd want to do all three! What is going on is how Satan clearly wants to show that God screwed up in creating humanity (I.E. showing that God is capable of screwing up and to that extent: not perfect) but God knew Job's heart and basically said "Here is a man that I know will not let me down and through all this I will show you that humanity was not a mistake". God didn't "punish" Job and through it all Job realized that.

As the book goes, Satan claimed that Job only blessed God because he was wealthy and to that extent was saying that Job's faith was a facade. To not only prove Satan wrong but also show Satan that there were faithful people in the world, he let Satan put Job through the hardships that he did. It was not a bet, God knew Job and his character and knew that Job was strong enough to handle the pain of it.

@djnatl nope, God didn't create us flawed. He gave us free will, as we have free will and choice to do what we want, we have the absolute ability to sin and turn against God. So no, God created man in His image (as in having free will and able to turn from God). After we sinned God sent His son to "compensate" as you say, and it is based on a book that is God-breathed (meaning that He knows His creation enough to be able to put the words of His book exactly where He wants them.)

God is the Creator of the universe and everything in it, God is not a philosophy or an ideal but a living breathing entity that (both literally and metaphorically) holds the universe in His hands. When I say that He is perfect I mean that He is without sin, that He cannot sin, and that He will one day destroy sin completely.

@chilimaan God also created us (and His angels) with free will to either follow Him or to turn from him (I.E. rebellion from Him is where sin comes from). When we turned from Him and sinned, God has to punish us as He is perfect and perfectly just (once again being without sin God must follow His own rules), however His Son Jesus took our sin and died for us, taking our punishment and leaving anyone who believes in their heart and accepts Christ into their lives free of God's punishment.

Basically, the reason Jesus had to die for our sins was so that we could be forgiven and go to be with the Lord. Jesus is God in flesh (John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9) and only God can satisfy the Law requirements of a perfect life and perfect sacrifice that cleanses us of our sins. All people have sinned against God. But, God is infinitely holy and righteous. He must punish the sinner, the Law breaker.
If He didn't, then His law is not law for there is no law that is a law without a punishment. The punishment for breaking the Law is death, separation from God. Therefore, we sinners need a way to escape the righteous judgment of God.

God is holy & darkness & sin cant exist in his presence, Gods light destroy anything that is evil. secondly hell is a place for the wicked. The sad part is that Atheists know more about the bible than the believers do. The number one thing that turned me into an atheist is we believe what we are taught and what we are taught is dependent upon where we are born. Its all where you are born. I'm not quite sure who told you that sin can enter into the presence of God. God in his very nature is perfect, and as such, sin cannot even go before him. To explain hell chronologically: God is perfect, God created man, man sinned and is doomed to share in Satan's punishment of eternal damnation, God sends His Son to die on our behalf and take the punishment for sin on his shoulders. If we as humans accept Christ into our lives and hearts, we are spared from hell. Hell isn't there for kicks.

sin is often viewed as an object, but in actuality is an action. Can you jump in the presence of God? Can you be happy? Can you drink a milkshake in the presence of God? I would have to hope that these are all yes answers, because I'd want to do all three! Where many would disagree here would be the definition of "presence of God" some taking it to mean a more physical presence, others in more of a nonphysical sense.

That's exactly it! God is perfect and for us to even look at God would result in death. It's simple, we had no hope in our sin. But God sent His son to pay the price for our sin. Taking our place under God's judgement, we now can accept Him into our hearts and be forgiven. Your right, no one can lead a perfect life, that's why Christ died for us. God didn't create humankind with sin. It was our sin that separated us from Him, and He redeemed us by the blood of Christ.

@jschools09 Read Job 1:6-12 i'm a christian and i think you're being mis informed about the bible, you'll find that satan could stand before God, even though satan is the father of sin, i hate going to church, and hearing people, bash humanity, saying that we are all evil, and can never stand before God, but here in Job you have satan's ass in Heaven enticing God to allow him to hurt Job for no damn reason, and God allows it

So God allowed Job to go through suffering, trials, sickness, loss of health and family, etc. Yet he never cursed God proving that he was a righteous man in an amoral time...you have read the story of Job right?

@jschools09 yes sadly i have read the book of Job, and it was terrible, in the end when he asked God why, God pretty much smack the crap outa him and said dont ask me nothing, but the thing that bothered me was, why is satan able to encite/ tempt God into punishing Job, why would God stoop to satans level, remember God said you have encited(tempt) me to do arm to Job for no reason, God had no reason to Hurt Job except to prove a point to satan, so it was a bet, and Job was caught in the middle.

What is going on is how Satan clearly wants to show that God screwed up in creating humanity (I.E. showing that God is capable of screwing up and to that extent: not perfect) but God knew Job's heart and basically said "Here is a man that I know will not let me down and through all this I will show you that humanity was not a mistake". God didn't "punish" Job and through it all Job realized that.

As the book goes, Satan claimed that Job only blessed God because he was wealthy and to that extent was saying that Job's faith was a facade. To not only prove Satan wrong but also show Satan that there were faithful people in the world, he let Satan put Job through the hardships that he did. It was not a bet, God knew Job and his character and knew that Job was strong enough to handle the pain of it.

Outside the obvious fact that God and Satan are in face-to-face communication on Job's case, you do know that it is 'an evil spirit from God' that torments King Saul and a lying spirit (part of God's heavenly ministers) that leads Israel's king to his death with God's blessing. @djnatl nope, God didn't create us flawed. He gave us free will, as we have free will and choice to do what we want, we have the absolute ability to sin and turn against God. So no, God created man in His image (as in having free will and able to turn from God). After we sinned God sent His son to "compensate" as you say, and it is based on a book that is God-breathed (meaning that He knows His creation enough to be able to put the words of His book exactly where He wants them.)

God is the Creator of the universe and everything in it, God is not a philosophy or an ideal but a living breathing entity that (both literally and metaphorically) holds the universe in His hands. When I say that He is perfect I mean that He is without sin, that He cannot sin, and that He will one day destroy sin completely.

He created this universe for His glory, His rules are written in the bible (I.E. Ten Commandments among other things). Since God is perfect and without sin, He can't break His own rules, and as sin is defined as rebellion against God then God must punish those who sin! You say it's circular reasoning but it's not, God IS the whole point.

@chilimaan God also created us (and His angels) with free will to either follow Him or to turn from him (I.E. rebellion from Him is where sin comes from). When we turned from Him and sinned, God has to punish us as He is perfect and perfectly just (once again being without sin God must follow His own rules), however His Son Jesus took our sin and died for us, taking our punishment and leaving anyone who believes in their heart and accepts Christ into their lives free of God's punishment.

Basically, the reason Jesus had to die for our sins was so that we could be forgiven and go to be with the Lord. Jesus is God in flesh (John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9) and only God can satisfy the Law requirements of a perfect life and perfect sacrifice that cleanses us of our sins. All people have sinned against God. But, God is infinitely holy and righteous. He must punish the sinner, the Law breaker.

God will not lower Himself by justifying sin. And I'm so very glad He won't. Sin has eternal consequences (like every action). Sin destroys the lives of everyone in it's wake. Rape, torture, murder, suffering, pain, misery. These deserve a punishment that fits the crime - an eternal one. If God lowered Himself and said "OK, you caused all this suffering on a daily basis. No big deal. Come on in!", then God would be unjust and pure evil.

you say it is set in stone....one of two destinations for ppl are Heaven or Hell but for you to stand here today and say that your destination is hell because God knows the future is stupid ....you and i have the choice to change that today.....to alter that outcome ..........the bible says you can know if ya saved........this means i altered my Hellish destination....not b/c i deserved anything overanybody else I just chose christ of a literal punishment of the lost

One thing I have found consistant with Fundies is that they will never debate or discuss honestly. No matter how much sense your point makes, no matter how right U R, they will never, but never, concede. Intellectual dishonesty!
I once raised the question to 3 Xians at 1 time. Why is it that god has never healed an amputee? (not my question, another thought of it 1st). Not 1 of the 3 would say, that's a good question. Or, I never thought of that. Not 1. Instead they made excuses.

Just put yourself in god's place. Don't U think U could come up with a better way to deal with treating your children than casting most of them into a furnace forever. It's ludicrous!

sin cannot enter into heaven, just the way of God....he gave his son to die for ppl to choose him as savior.....ppl are forgiven but they have the blood applied to their lives....God does not look past the blood on Judgement...they chose his son.....others suffer the consequences......in revelation Devil death and hell itself are all cast into the lake of fire along with every denier of christ....this is it ........God will not tolerate sin.....you reap what you sow

And U think all this makes sense? All this in one lifetime? According to scripture, man was made to fail, made imperfect. So you're saying if we don't make ourselves perfect in one short life time our loving god will start to torture us, for eternity, no less! Kind of a harsh punnishment for something he made us to do.
If all of what U say is true, then god himself is evil. Not only evil, but sadistic in that he would have us suffer such horror. That would be insane, That's your god!

Man was made perfect, but with a choice, By his choice we are failed............BTW we can't make ourselves perfect,,.....we need to be forgiven.....acknowledging Christ''s death and resurrection........to be forgiven is not gain a heaven and shun a hell......Man was made for God's glory to worship him by thier choice....sadly there are ppl who will not choose that road....but God is also unchangeing and he will not tolerate sin nor those who do not love him for eternity

dude quit cherry picken verses out of context...Isaiah is a pleading prayer of his ppl b/c they realized God let them have their way when they rebelled against him....then things got bad...../strong delusion is in context for anyone that denies God conciously and refuses to have anything to do with him.....unforgiveable sin.......these things are brought by ppls choice........you need to see that

why should i have to correct your 40 year mistake not my problem cause i know your wrong.....ppl go to church for 50 years thinking they were saved and one day they finally realize they werent and finally get saved so just b/c you taught a literal book doesn't mean jack about you understanding spiritually which you must.....you spread crap by picking solitude verse withouth the who chapters and obscene lack of understanding of the context of chapter facrtually pisses me off.

dude you need to read the verses more closely ..........bible talks about insects that walk on all fours............not just have four legs..........many insects have six legs and only walk on the shorter four and use the longer two for jumping........read on
