@hbert06 It's the milk jug canopy. At the time of the video there was only the 500-sized Protos. So I panted it to look like that. The mini-protos is very new but it too has a similar canopy. But to answer your question no it's not the actual mini-protos canopy.
I also want to buy a HK-450 from Hobbycity but i'm confused because they have several HK-450 such as the TT pro, GT pro belt-drive, GT full Alloy etc...
If you know the difference between these helis please help me pick one!
1st time.. most thrilling thing you'll do with the heli. THen it gets easier and easier. Kind of the intro to 3D for helis. Practice on a sim first. It's not that hard.
I'm just new to helis. Got phoenix sim to practice with my dx6i transmitter for a few weeks first. Well, I might try to hover the hk450 in the backyard here and there.
Cool vid, I can see myself LOVING this hobby :) Something my 5 month old daughter can watch/join me as she can't really jump on my motorbike (legally, it's age 8 or 9 over here in Oz b4 they can be a pillion I think)
@waz675 my daughter at the start was 'cool' but then she got really bored of it. My baby son.. well I have high hopes. He loves to grab the sim controller. Can't fly worth a spit but he'll get there. I crashed maybe 15 of the first 20 flights. Keep at it.
It's the stock milk carton canopy. I sanded with very fine sandpaper, washed with dawn to get rid of any oils, then used blue masking tape and painted it similar to the protos canopy. Rattle cans - black and red. Now I think about it, I should have done orange on top or something for visibility.
I have never owned a trex but I know people who have owned both and they say you can't really tell. Depending on setup, the hk may even be better. HOWEVER, the better deal these days is an EXI450 from xheli. metal and you can get full cf frames and metal bits for a great price.
Ok, thanks. I`ve had a Flasher 450 SE V2, and now I have a T-Rex 450 Sport. The T-rex flies much more better, is more stable and the quality is much better. The Flasher was a piece of crap-
Ah well compared to the sport, the flasher prob flies a lot like the trex v2. depending on electornics of course. The sport has the newer v3 head, no? I'm hoping to have a Pro for the spring.
this was a while ago.. can't remember what all it had, but not stock. stock frame. mg-14 servos. g401b gyro (futaba clone), turnigy 2836-3700 motor, @ the time a 30A esc (now have a 40a). CopterX head/tail.
