One of our rat recently had her first (and only) batch of babies, she only had four with one being a stillborn and another dying a few hours later. The two babies left are huge for their age, I've never seen pinkies as big as them. They just turned a week old and take up half my hand. I've also found that giving nursing rats special vitamins in their water helps the babies grow much bigger as well.

It depends on the parents, if they came from a large stock breed, how many siblings they had (in many cases the smaller the litter the bigger the baby), their gender, and if they are properly fed/housed during their major growth periods.

Some rats are just different. For example, my ratty is all pretty and has a skinny head with cute little ears, but some rats have big fat heads and wide bodies O_O

Thanks! This is something I did a while ago for a video production course, I don't think I'll do any more, though. The tag at the end was actually the easy part -- I took a short video clip of my rat, took a still somewhere in the middle, applied posterize, then used Final Cut to fadein/fadeout, change the size, and add the titles.

I guess in retrospect, it sounds complicated, but if you know Final Cut and Photoshop, it's easy :)
