  • I was just casually listening to this while doing other things and forgot that I wasn't listening to Nirvana..... and I'm a big Nirvana fan so I'm not easily fooled!

  • paying homage to someone they obviously loved is fine. this is fine. pop wankers jumping on the bandwagon tho is not fine. a shovel in the face of pop....."as beautiful as a rock in a cops face."

  • his voice was certainly not tailored for this...

  • What was this recorded on, a mobile phone that someone had secreted deep inside their anus? I have no problem at all with Nirvana covers, I just wish I could hear it.

  • @shitlerize because they cant just go to a recording studio and record it without getting permission

  • Jesus Christ this band covered every fucking nirvana song

  • Rest Well Man, we'll see you soon!!!!!!!!

  • I love Weezer and I think it is a pretty good cover but in my opinion OTEP did an amazing fucking job at covering this song!!!

  • We recently covered "On A Plain" in honor of the 20th anniversary of Nevermind. Have a listen and let us know what you think (it's titled "Chariots On A Plain Of Fire"). If you like, check out our other songs and videos. Thanks!

    -Oddments

  • anybody who doesnt like weezer (old weezer at least) and nirvana should just kill themselves! weezer has never been the same since their first 2 albums though! the blue album and pinkerton are a million times better than all the albums after!

  • He says "I'm afraid" one to many times before he says "GHOST"! What a suckish cover! I'm not hating on this, just saying something they can improve on. The lead singer does not have Kurt's voice, but it is a tribute so I'll let it slide.

  • this rules!

  • This cover is pretty good...

  • singer did such a good job with this

  • Holy shit Weezer's drummer is good.

  • goat punishment?????? AWESOME!!!!!!

  • I saw fuel at a festival in mass back in 99 and they did a good cover of this song.

  • nirvana: uhhhh... She has a moist vagina I particularly enjoy the circumference I'll been sucking warts off her anus anilingus

weezer: They don't make stationery like this where I'm from - so fragile, so refined So I sniff and I lick your envelope and fall to little pieces every time I wonder what clothes you wear to school I wonder how you decorate your room I wonder how you touch yourself and curse myself for being across the sea

    weezer win

  • @KRS1LEGEND they can't beat nirvana ever love weezer but how about you compare a better song like idk maybe milk it, swap meet or mexican seafood

  • @KRS1LEGEND lol why compare the 2 bands by using one of if not the rarest song by one of them, and a farely well known song by the other?

  • feeder's cover is better...

  • the first hipster was the singer of wezzer

  • @futamare actually hipster is a term from the 1940's. it was used in reference to teenage white kids who wanted to be "cool" and listen to jazz music.

  • @crackersjenkins what you say is irrelevant, you understood what I said no?

  • @futamare obviously i did, but what you are saying is incorrect so i thought i would inform you.

  • I still think Local H does the best cover of this song.

  • nirvana fanboys = the grunt of society

  • @KRS1LEGEND fuck you.

  • @grungegopher Thanks for uploading this, Nirvana and Weezer fucking rock!

  • to all the people who are raging that nirvana covers suck: chill... Nirvana are a hard as fuck band to cover. Seriously. I've tried many times. And it's not that the people in question are bad musicians. They're just hard as shit to immitate without sounding a cunt. Nirvana ftw.

  • @MrDeaders actually they're simple ass songs.

  • @iag127 to play, yes, but to cover, not really.

  • @iag127 They're usually hella easy to play, except for Kurt's improvised, out-of-key solos. Also, Kurt's voice is almost impossible to cover, it's that unique.

  • @iag127 i was gona reply and school you but like three people already did so it's reyt.

  • @MrDeaders i'm with you men if you wanna cover nirvana you need kurt if you want to sound good but hey this sounds pretty find xD

  • @MrDeaders covering another band's music isn't about making a flawless imitation, it's what happens when a musician thinks 'this song would sound brilliant if we applied my band's style to it' .. compare jimi hendrix's and the red hot chili peppers's versions of fire, or led zeppelin's and tool's versions of no quarter .. .. weezer are an okay band, but they don't have a distinct enough sound to make a cover of a song by a band like nirvana not sound like a cheap charicature of that band

  • lol at people assuming working with someone 'mainstream' = selling out. gg

  • great cover! =w=

  • for people who hate this cover, weezer doesnt care, doesnt care, doesnt care, and im sure Grohl, Cobain and novoselic doesnt mind doesnt mind doesnt mind.

  • SO NIRVANA IS AWESOME. AND WEEZER IS AWESOME. AND SO ARE GOATS.

  • @AvengedK0rn7Fold you forgot about another thing thats awesome... STICKERS!! you can put them virtually anywhere

  • How come every time a band covers Nirvana they automatically suck???? What is wrong with you people.

  • @exovoxrock

Well, in this case, there's no fucking rhythm to it. At all. He's fucking it in the ass. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate weezer or anything, this is just a terrible cover.

  • theres always something off when these fools try to play nirvana songs. R.I.P. KURDT KOBANE.

  • If Kurt was still alive, he would have shot himself after hearing this.

  • @mrtheroosterdude Actually I think Kurt would have been pleased to hear a great band like Weezer honoring his work by performing it live.

  • @mrtheroosterdude

Pfft, Weezer may suck these days,

But in the 90s they blew away Nirvana.

  • @mrtheroosterdude - Kurt didn't shoot himself. If you actually understood what his lyrics meant you would understand that he was against the British family and the criminal wealthy corporate scum Rockefeller. He tried to expose them and was popped off just like the rest of them. There is nothing wrong with this cover...it sounds great. Do you happen to play an instruments, sing or would you ever get on stage and cover Nirvana? Well I have and I have respect for Kurt and his music.

  • wow, they sounded great!

If "Goat Punishment" ever came this way, I'd pay money to see them!

    yeah Weezer's ok too ;)

  • dude where is that pounding drum roll at the beggining of the song that Dave grohl does??? Weezer sucks!!!

  • weezer you fail

  • I believe it was Abraham Lincoln who said, "weezer fuckin' rules, now free the damn slaves."

  • @TheBobbyalone Are you sure it wasn't like jebus or someone like that?

  • @WHYSOCEREAL22 ehhh maybe you're right, I was never really that good in math class.

  • @TheBobbyalone ME EITHER!!!!

  • @TheBobbyalone Rofl is this a quote from something or did you just make it up?? XD

  • @KoetheandKatie Made it up. ;D

  • @TheBobbyalone...............oh yeah! and send them back to Africa!!!!! For the love of God SEND THEM BACK

  • @TheBobbyalone and before that I'm almost sure he said "I have15 venereal diseases and Glenn Quagmire is a damn good pilot." .....or was that Hugh Hefner?

  • @TheBobbyalone WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN?>>>>> check yourself

  • @TheBobbyalone “The problem with quotes on the Internet is that you never can know if they are genuine." - Abraham Lincoln ;) lollollol

  • weezer's been all downhill since Pinkerton.......and it's not just me but a load of other longtime fans who feel their musical stylings have lost their magic.A lot of bands are trying for the whole progressive n revolutionizing movement but the fact is no band should lose what makes them special and making choices to collaborate with zero talent overrated hip-hop 'stars' just shows they just do the records to sell singles and just market themselves as corporate zombies

  • @warmaker911 Or not. Cuomo is a genuine fan of hip-hop, Lil' Wayne etc. It was done because he wanted to, not in the interest of selling records.

And sorry, but if Cobain hadn't shot himself in the face he'd probably have started to suck long ago just like you claim Rivers has. I love Nirvana to death, but it's true.

  • i miss the old weezer

  • Dave's drums was much better

  • dear jesus. the otep cover is shit. and this is quite lovely. <3

  • If any bands have a right to cover nirvana it would be weezer or the foo fighters or the pixies.

    Fuck Seether.

  • i hate covers but weezer ROCKS!!!

  • Let performers be performers... expression is what it is

  • The original is better without a doubt, but if i went to a gig and weezer played their version i would definatley be rocking out!

  • good ole weezer. gotta love them for given it a go.

  • Ugh... they butchered it.

  • great tribute to nirvana .

  • Weezer used to be my fav group....they sold out....(new fav Manchester Orchestra) blue album was great, i personally love the Pinkerton Album...Weezer really disappointed me though the past couple yrs

  • Even though Weezer is a completely different style of music I'm sure they'd feel honored to be compared to Nirvana.

  • FAIL

  • Where can i get the music file?!?

  • Probably b/c Nirvana songs are easy and fun to play, and people like them. Why over think it?

  • Cool band name.

  • this one o my favoritest nirvana songs :D

  • so funny that people still hold on to the Blue album or Pinkerton as some sort of mold that shoud never be broken...Weezer is and always will be progressive, that is why they are still realitive in 2010, still making hits and why all their stuff is timeless!!!

Get over it!!! " I can't stop partying " is frickin genius!!!

  • @socalnsx no its not

  • This pretty much sucks

  • its alright.

  • this is a pretty good cover, i will still always prefer the orignal but at least rivers cuomo has good taste in music

  • this is just my opinion but weezer shouldnt do any of nirvana's cover cuz they're too different from each other.

  • maybe that's the reason of the covers?, actually they have to be the same shit?

  • @noisesionoise

if you're a weezer fan, you might find ALL of their songs/covers good but i'm a complete nirvana freak so i simply loved this song cuz KURT was the singer

like i said before 'this is my opinion' so i dont really care if you disagree or not

  • I'm not a weezer fan, I dont like weezer, I'm a nirvana freak as you!, but some people hate this cover, I think is well

  • yeah i do.

  • i lvoe nirvana, weezer and this song ^_^

  • If you read Pitchfork, you are a fucking idiot. That is all.

  • Stop bitching little bitches!

  • like weezer's version of sliver but I think they should stay away from Nirvana's grungy stuff

  • Goat Punishment...now i will be scouring the internet for that bootleg XD Not a bad cover at all.

  • great cover!

  • y'know if the singer got with dave and krist they could do a tribute concert

  • @omgitzruffles totally goodidea

  • nah dude it just wouldnt be the same kurt cobain basically was nirvana. if they did it without him it would suck.

  • That comment is so messed up....Nirvana was all three of the members Kurt was the guitarist and vocalist, the rest of the band was just as responsibe

  • Kurt wrote most of their songs by himself, was the frontman and voice of Nirvana. Nirvana had 5 drummers before Grohl. Dave's had his own band for over a decade and has lapsed into an embarrassing Bon Jovi/Goo Goo Dolls rip off. So how is that comment messed up?

  • @grungegopher foo fighters hade made one or two good album and i would be mad at that comment if i didn't hear the lastest album dave pissed out right before them crooked vultures. But one things for sure hes a way better colaborator than going it alone.

  • @Fallinldols He definately didn't piss it out if echoes, silence, patience + grace came out a solid 2 years before tcv

  • @TheToastBrothers that was a great album but im talking about the shit he came out with right before tcv like "wheels". i think hes trying to signify that he is leaving foo fighters or something with radio hits like these.

  • @grungegopher lol, no? 2 drummers

  • @grungegopher mate ur still living in 1993, music has evolved and changed since then. Dave's done well with the foos and with TCV, he'd be long forgotten if he'd only be remembered for his nirvana shit. dave is probably the best drummer going around also, dont forget that his drum rolls on teen spirit are half the reason the song is so fucking good

  • @grungegopher bon jovi/goo goo dolls rip off? you must be deaf. foo fighters are outstanding in its own right, even though it may not be as iconic as nirvana. kurt would agree that nirvana is the three of them. he himself would hate the idea of being the 'voice' of nirvana probably and krist and dave's contributions are equally important in making the music as brilliant and iconic as they were. don't kid yourself.

  • @grungegopher He was in scream before Nirvana picked him up. I only know some of the drummers, which include Clover, and Channing.

  • @grungegopher Foo Fighters, a Bon Jovi rip-off. Good joke. Seriously, is being retarded your career or are you just gifted?

  • that's so wrong..kurt cobain was just a half of nirvana, the other half is krist novoselic..the other members join the band after the two of them..

  • no I actually disagree because kurt made Nirvana complete.

  • actually I think i read some where that they though about it. lol

  • How bout a whole new band? Weezer's songs have been shit letely

  • You heard that song with Lil Wayne? Fucking horrible..

  • Yeah, Weezer really sold out big time when they collaborated with that talentless piece of shit.

  • @grungegopher They sold out a long time ago, I prefer to think that the blue album is their only good one.

  • @jimmybrite They've always admitted to being careerists, but they seemed to have a little integrity before collaborating with Lil Wayne. Part of the reason that stands out so much as a sell-out moment to me is because they just did "Pork & Beans" a song about not selling to current trends, and not having Timbaland produce their record on their last album. So it seemed like they just caved to their record label's demands.

  • @grungegopher Or, they wanted to try something new. Just like they always do with all of their albums. Stop acting like you know what goes through Weezer's mind, because you don't. Nobody but them do.

  • @LightsCameraMeghan But I can't relate to anyone who would *want* to work with a non-talented piece of garbage like Lil Wayne. So if they wanted to work with him, they simply suck now and have sold their souls to the record label.

  • Comment removed

  • @grungegopher they already did way back

  • @grungegopher now that they've gone indy do you have hopes for them ?

  • @grungegopher I understand and respect what you're saying, and there was a time when I would have unquestionably agreed with you. But I have become a lot more open-minded with respect to my own musical biases, and now I feel strongly that telling an artist they can't work with ANYONE because it creates the appearance of "selling out," even if it's something they genuinely want to do as an artist, is just as bad as what we typically blame on "the label." They're on an independent label now anyway

  • @grungegopher Im glad they have their own Label now and wont do stuff like that now. Raditude was a big let down but the new album sounds pretty good to me.

  • @birdy4 They aren't on their own label, they're on Epitaph, the biggest indie/punk label.

  • @jdawg1692 Did i say own? sorry i know they're with the label made by the guy out of Bad Religion (i think) i was ment to say Indie Label

  • @grungegopher

to be fair to weezer they just left geffen records anf are on a different label so i think they hav'nt really sold out but that lil wayne song made part of me die

  • @grungegopher it's hard to admit but you're right.. they play coldplay's viva la vida in their latest album...

  • @grungegopher Listen if your looking for what would be a good new album, try Kanye West's newest album.Hell, even Pitchfork gave it a 10.10 rating, and they never do that! So,whatcha waiting 'fer go ahead and give it a listen!

  • @grungegopher o. Too bad it was Rivers' himself who wanted Lil' Wayne on the song, thus how have they "sold their souls to the record label"? I'm not into Lil' Wayne just as much as you are, but it's possible to appreciate Nirvana, Lil' Wayne, the Beach Boys, etc. all at the same time without being a "sell out" or stupid. I'd ask you to try to open your mind a bit, but with the name like "grunge gopher" I can tell it's already lost fight.

Regardless, this was done 11 years prior.

  • @grungegopher They're on an independent label now. Not sure how you can sell your soul to an indie label.

Also, Weezer can do whatever the fuck they want. They've earned the right.

  • @grungegopher Have you ever listened to a song by Lil' Wayne? No? Good thing you're the one to judge his quality then.

  • @LeutennantDan Yes, I've known about Wayne since like 1998 because I live near the area he started out. His "music" is horrible.

  • @grungegopher Well, then the stuff he does is just not your thing. You just shouldn't ultimately judge music or insult it because you don't like it. In the end you might just don't see the value other people find in it. Thanks for uploading and sorry if my other comment was a bit harsh.

  • @grungegopher he was actually just going to do the rap with anyone who he could get in the studio with that day.

  • @grungegopher Maybe they just give less of a shit than you? That's what has always made Weezer so fucking awesome to me. If they want to do something, they do it. Heard Pork & Beans? Learn them lessons, boi.

  • @grungegopher They wanted to try somthing new, I can't blame them for that. Lil Wayne's probably the only person to agree to help make such a shitty song.

  • @grungegopher Have you seen their music video for the State Farm commercial?

  • @grungegopher well the lead singer has always lived vicariously through kurt cobain. Only a shadow.. everyone is only a god dam shadow to his music. I just cant help but notice that nobody in their internal mind think they amount to what he did. Not travis barker, not lil wayne.. nobody. U can tell by the way they cover their songs, memorize everyone of his lyrics and sit at home away from everyone saying "fuck!, of all fucking chords how did he make that melody"

  • @grungegopher how much lil wayne have you honestly listened to? you understand that you can't make such a blanket judgement of someone like that. i'm sure he has at least one song you would like. also, he is quite talented for a rapper.

  • @dharpify1 he's not even that talented, just popular. If you listen to his lyrics they're really not good mostly just a bunch of random words that rhyme.

  • @mikec81 well thats just objectively false. his words definitely have meaning. even if you don't like it or if you don't know what it means to him that doesn't make it meaningless

  • @dharpify1 Wayne raps bragging about his money and greed, and objectifies women. And he glamorizes a thuggish lifestyle. That's why I have no use for him.

  • @grungegopher well it's like..what's the point of being a thug if you got money...the thing that made rap of any value in the first place was that it was honest talk from people who didn't have it too easy, and you know, somethin beyond materialistic superficial bullshit. Now these guys are trying to tell you that they are so rich and pimpin', yet they still gotta commit crime? it's fake and tacky and sounds like shit.

  • @jimmybrite They had more good albums than The Blue Album. Altho that is their best Pinkerton was also a masterpiece. I started to loose em abit after The Red Album i only liked Pork and Beans of that album and the latest one i will not buy.

  • @jimmybrite Pinkerton was awesome in it's own way. I'd hardly call it a sell-out album.

  • @jimmybrite Jimmybrite, it's ridiculous to think that Blue is the only album they didn't sell out on. Pinkerton is a sell out? Are you kidding me? if anything, they sold out some on blue with the buddy holly video. You are a fucking idiot .

  • @jimmybrite Pinkerton? Songs From the Black Hole? Green? Maladroit? Make Believe would've been great without Beverly Hills and We are All on Drugs. Raditude would've been great if I Don't Want to Let You Go and Can't Stop Partying were in its Alone form and if the album hadn't been so popish. The Green Album has some real highlights after the popular singles (which are still good) from the album such as Simple Pages, Smile, Crab, and O Girlfriend. Weezer has other good post Pinkerton songs.

  • @jimmybrite ummmm Pinkerton

  • Solid cover!

  • the voice may be different but it's still a damn good cover!!

  • Wow they did a good job on this cover. Awesome stuff and well done, and I'm glad to see this cover being done by the great band nirvana. Good stuff hope to see more. - Jaymes

  • i love weezer, i hate raditude

  • Agreed.

  • How can you hate Weezer?

  • Because of everything after their first album.

  • @kermitneville, So you didn't like Pinkerton?

  • @pepperoni1983

lolz.... you could say they at least have range, eh?

  • weezer cover nirvana! woow!

  • SICK MAN!!!

  • Im a huuuge nirvana fan... and i have to say weezer do really amazing nirvana covers unlike most bands

  • Do you have more songs from this concert? please post em if you have em

  • sounds like kurt a little

  • my second favorite band doing a cover of my favorite band

    what could be more awesome?

  • oh man same for me but there both equally number one for me. both these bands got me through fucking high school without having a mental break down.

  • Lol dude it's exactly the same for me!

  • whos ur first?

  • @g33kling3r I was just about to comment that before i read the comments!!! XD NICE!

  • @g33kling3r your favorite band doing a cover of your second favorite band...

  • awesome!!! both wicked bands

  • its hilarious that Weezer use to play shows with the name goat punishment and do nothing but nirvana covers. Cobain would have loved it.

  • @ilopol really? love this shit? i havent heard worse since justin bieber was born
