Final Fantasy XII boss 3 (Judge Ghis)

Okay, so i just got my ass whooped by Judge Ghis... I have a saved game where im at the Lhsus Mines and im about to do that Notoriety thing... I went back into the mines and i plan on killing everything over and over and over and saving and blah blah blah... Can ANYONE tell me what i should get and equipped before going and trying this boss battle again?? What spells.. where to get those spells, equipment and all that.. Not trying to be nag but i am NOT quiting this game because of this boss.

@CrimsonTrickmaster it's probably because you have it configured to active. Go to the menu while playing and the last option well be config and change battle menu to wait. I hope this helps

I am failing at this. My party is Fran level 10, Ashe level 11, Penelo level 11. Penelo and Ashe know one quickening each. (Hence why i have an all girl party, its not my usual party.) I know all level 1 white and black magic, and up to level 2 green magic. I have no previous save to go back to because last time i did it first time round with no difficulty, and got cocky. I cant remember how i did it though. Any advice?

u have to go back to the lushu mines and train.may be a long time,but better than failing.

Are you sure there are no other tactics handy cause i really despise this game because it's the only one i can never complete, and starting again will just make me go off the game entirely.

hmm...i get where your going.tell me one thing though.how many lp do your charecthers have,cause 1 quickening will deal a fair amount to him.i suggetst you put that on then when you equip ethers on you to do it again.try to equip to as many charecters as possible...also,defeat the swordsman first,and you should be just fine...also,try to have one tank,one healer,and one damege.follow all this and you just might do it (btw,ashe would be the best healer,considering she has the most mp)

Ash and Penelo both have quickenings, however none of my other characters have enough lp to get a quickening (i think it was rushing this to get past raithwalls tomb which is why its all gone tits up) I'll try the things you suggested. Thanks muchly :)

np and keep in mind that you dont have to compleatly kill him.ohh and i forgot 1 thing:make sure your backup people use magic! and have baltheir man the guns.dont believ that his weapon is only 6 attack power,i dont get it either.hes just really slow.

It's cause guns ignore armour, if their attack power was as high as other weapons he would be taking down ghis in a few shots. And i will.

Go lvl up a bit first, pick up shell. He was still hard but that's cause my chars were lvls 11-12

you are going to use your guts on this then. i have another tactic that may work. use dark on the guys that appear behind the party. kill them first then go all out on the judge.....

okie doke, ill try! you kno, running through the soilders on my way there is a pain in the ass, so i dont fight them just run through em, then i do healing and riviving at the door where ghis is.

and oh yeah ..... also try this since you cannot go back to the area before go train with a save point untill you level up but dont use items

using dark on the swordsmen is very recommended you can also slow and blind ghis so he becomes MUCH easier, so just dark the 3 swordsmen straight away then have your party kill them while your blinding and slowing him then nail him

I beat him with Vaan level 13 (using a pole), Balthier level 12 and Fran level 12. He was a chalenge but between Balthier using cure over and over, and using dark to get rid of imperials, the only thing that really hurt was aero.

opposite of the save block is a small store where you can stock up on potions and stuff.

I'm currently level 25 only with Vaan and havn't entered Giza Plains yet lol...If you chain Dustia by 1-shotting him with Pheonix Downs you can level up heaps easily, plus earn a hefty amount of gil ^^

the easiest way is two have a least 2 or more people to do a quickening and do inferno or anything higher so u dont need to train to fight him but yes its like a cheap shot at him but you'll beat him in one hit

first off all that is sick that you have all that by that time. I barely have any money or anything so I can't buy all those spells and such. This guy is way to hard for me. I am like 4 levels below the min. level for him though.

i nearly died with ashe only left with 80hp i i took out my strongest weapon from vaan and equip it to her and she did a 190 which killed him phew

A really easy way to win this fight is to spam a 20-chain of quickenings on him. It will kill him in 1 hit.

It isn't essential, but it is quite useful. I suggest getting at least all the Lv.1 quickenings for your active party. An Inferno concurrence (land 3 Lv.1 quickenings) might not kill Ghis, but will certainly kill the minions. This makes the fight WAY easier.

get a mage that knows dark and warmage (i use ashe) and nuke the shit out of them all (preferably while their focused on a tank) and I use the enforced character class challenge from gamefaqs, and I dont use quickenings and its usually pretty easy between lvls 10-13

if you are stuck on this basterd of a boss i got ideas check them out ok 1. if you saved in the no.1 brig or w/e then stock up on items and stuff and then go out and fight the guards for exp to level up dont use one item not one!! you casn use them at the boss fight and after you level up once or so run back to save point and heal up and save and do it again good hunting fellas

the easiest thing to do is if u got a reflectaga mote from one of the chests in this god damn ship then use it on ureself and use dark on ureself attacks three times instead of 1 from 1 person so cast it with ashe on herself with reflect on and its like the whole party casting it on him but from just ashe clever hehe

Great vid, I think I'm gonna use this method =) my chars are around lvl 17, though Fran is lvl 18 (cause geez, she's just like Yuna, no matter how high her level, she still has lower HP than all the others) But I think I'll lvl them up maybe a lvl or two more before going to the Leviathan. Christ, this battle was a pain in the ass.. I'm so lucky to have done it at level 10, especially first time. I usually speed through the games, in another video someone's like level 10 at Firemane :S

Take down his minions first, so the end of the battle is alot more relaxing. If you leave his minions, they just keep hitting you, and it's just constant healing all through the battle whilst not trying to die yourself.

This boss is easily taken down by quickenings...the lvl barely matters if you have at least one quickening for each character. Without the quickenings i'd just set up the gambits the same way janlukky did:)
