i was born in 1986 so never really watched him but hes still my favorite along with Patrick Roy , smoking cigarettes between periods and burning the league winning stanley cups for my city , they dont make them like this anymore =D
He was my idol for so many years when i was a kid. I remember 2 years ago seeing him in person at his restaurant in Berthierville...I was just looking at him right there a few feet from me......The legend was right in front of me. Thanks Guy for all the memories...and the Stanley Cups too!
The man knew how to put the biscuit in the basket. Many of his goals were scored when he shot the puck about 6 inches over the ice and just inside the post. I idolized him during my teenage years. Absolutely amazing talent; what a sniper...and a great passer too. He was the best player in the NHL from 1975 to 1979.
Guy Lafleur was awesome and one of my favourite ice hockey players back in the 1970's with the Montreal Canadians long before Gretzky showed up on the scene. Guy Lafleur and Rocket Richard were ice hockey legends for me and both played for the Montreal Canadians.
I was at the comeback game im 1988 when he was with newyork. I have never heard such a roar when a player from the visiting team scores. What a night. What a player. GUY! GUY!
Freakin' awesome video!!! The first-ever hockey game I watched as a kid had Montreal playing and I was just in awe of this guy wearing #10 that skated circles around everyone else and had his hair flow straight backwards. It made enough of an impression on me that I decided I wanted to learn how to play hockey!
Even though I only caught the tail end of his Habs career (and his 3 when he came out of retirement), he'll always be my favorite player.
i always watched him play when i was in cnd in the 70.s and 80.s im in italy now hes still my favorite.i still play in pro team age 37,my jersey? n.10
shawn... its swede! nice video. Guy Lafleur is definatly one of the best players of all time... but still not as good as Mario Lemieux. im just joking they were both good in their own way. good vid. 5\5
Thanks for posting this, not enough Guy Lafleur on Youtube, he was, and will always be by favorite, I have hours of footage on VHS, and I will start uploading soon, so Guy Lafleur gets his just do on youtube!

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing Lafleur scoring a goal. Except maybe seeing Lafleur scoring a goal on the Bruins.

I have only this to say about Guy "The Flower" Lafleur:
5 Stanley Cups (1973-1979)
6-straight 50-goal seasons (1975-1980)
6-straight 100pt seasons (1975-1980)
3 straight NHL Scoring Titles (1976-1978)
2 NHL MVPs (1977-1978)
560 Goals, 1300 NHL points (1972-1991)
Yep, I think I've said enough.
