  • Where can I get information on how to build this?

  • THIS IS....THE FUTURE!

  • HE'S FROM FUTURE!!

  • Looking forward to this technology...

ONE DAY I will Be able to play FPS Game in LIVE ACTION

  • If this project sees fruition, it will bring about a HUGE paradigm shift...

  • one steve jobs is dead but another is born..... Pranav Mistry!!!

  • he is genius

  • This man is clearly from the future.

  • Genius! But I think this is just a part of the puzzle. The real invention would be when Biology is integrated with this. Maybe far into the future but I hope that someday I can get a chip inside my head that reads my gestures and then transmits the images directly to the brain (instead of a projector).

  • The real SuperStar of India!

  • This man is fucking amazing, got here from 9gag :)

  • mother of god:/

  • People Dont blame Indians..because they try to Ma ke the WOrld smart..Unlike the other guys who always sit at home and dislike the video...II am sure he is a Ricist Pakistani...

  • This guy is a freakin genius.

  • things we need asap. 1) interactive porn 2) smellovision

  • @danglingdouchebag hehehe! sounds gr8! smellovision would be nice if that comes without any chemicals.

  • this is fantastic. if this was to be introduced into businesses this would improve the productivity as people would be able to work on the move instead of having to sit down at a desk and computer. although this creation is great it may not catch on as with the clumsy equipment that is required but may yet be later re-designed

  • ABSOLUTELY GREAT!

  • FOR the people DISliking this video

do you think of yourself to be son of godamn EINSTEIN, EDISON or NEWTON.......

  • the so called magic is technology....

  • Why if this video was made in 2009 am I just hearing about it???

  • @The3nlightened0ne you didn´t notice the sarcasm? Such a shame...

  • Minority Report comes to real life.

  • biggest invention of the decade which bridges the gap between physical and digital world...really awesome

  • Woooowwww . . . .. Wot A GeNiUzZzZz . . . .

  • There´s hope for mankind

  • @ofurpesi lmfao, what a cliche. Got anything original to say?

  • i hate how some people's first ideas is; how can this be used for evil? that is an ignorant thought. the world is changing people, get with the program.

  • I wanted (and am) studying Computer Science my whole life so i could some day be involved in projects like this!

  • Why did I see some white woman taking credit for this some presentations ago?

  • the software has been released at last yesterday !!!! get it now

    code.google.com/p/sixthsense

  • Pranav Mistry is the real genius who comes in line with Dennis Ritchie,James Gosling and a few others.Nowadays businessman are also being added to this list. The great Mr.Jobs was an excellent business and a Technocrat. But when it comes to genuine technical skills all "I" stuffs are not really that excellent.Dennis Ritchie invented C!! Pranav Mistry has invented Sixth Sense.James Gosling came up with Java!!! I believe there's no need to compare these excellent geniuses with anybody else

  • Comment removed

  • WOW this is the greatest invention

  • wow........!!!!!!!

i can't see it evr in my lyf

  • WOW!

    That's so exciting.

  • Absolute boss.

  • Woooow...

  • Wouldn't you need to be in (relatively) dark places all te time in order to see all of that properly? If so, half the world is going to turn into vampires :P Oh light, ur such a party pooper!

But wth I'm starting with saving money for this right now! :D

  • woow

  • sorry but, wtf! this is awsome !

  • PRANAV ... WE HOPE MORE FROM U. PLEASE DON'T KEEP US IN THE DARK!!

  • THE BRAND NEW TECHNOLOGICAL BOOM IN INDIA FOR THE NEAREST FEATURE!! I AM TOTALLY GETTING SURPRISED ABOUT THIS VIDEO. I CAN'T GET A WORD FOR EXPRESSING MY FEELING. SO GRATE. TAKE IT UP. IT IS A REAL INSPIRATION FOR EACH AND EVERY PROFESSIONALS IN THE STREAM ESPECIALLY FROM INDIA!

  • Why would we need to digitalize the whole freaking world? because WE CAN? i think this is brilliant, but i dont think technology alone can change the world.

  • @moderjoker Yes, because we can. This is the foundation of human experimentation and innovation. The computers we're typing this on wouldn't exist if multiple people didn't try things out simply because they had the means and ability to do so.

  • @nedocromil still we humans are manipulative, violent and tribal. Big deal

  • @moderjoker True, technology won't miraculously wipe away those traits. But staying in the dark (technologically) isn't the answer either. People have been bad since primitive times, so staying primitive won't weed out bad people.

  • this may be the only thing that can save newspapers

  • this is so sexy

  • This is crazy! Amazing!

  • Fuck you patents

    LET US BUY IT.

  • aww man. he aint just a genius, he is well a nobel person too. i mean. he is not just selling his research to some big company rather he is bringing it to masses. and that also without putting any financial barriers.

  • ARI from heavy rain :D

  • Guys it was 2 years ago , i still don't know how to get this technology . Did they drop out the project ? Is that project not open source anymore ? (-_-) !!!!!

  • this technology is amazing! it makes a change to what we normaly do and use :)

  • no way! this is amazing, i think that this will be amazing if we all have this technology. i also love how it is soooo mobile! it is so advanced that you can use that technology on any thing like paper! PDD's affect our organisations as we are sat infront of moniters or we are heads down on our PDD's this will mean that we can look at anything and then have a look at anything! this is the most amazing, life changing thing ever!!!!! love it wish i could have one!!!

  • Its amazing how how people can think of such simple things and create new technology (pdds)and how clever and interesting the rollers in the mouse got.

The impact with organisations work and PDDs as the divice my not work without PDDs,you could always have your PDDs on you it shows how the futre will develop and the fact it was invented before 2009 shows these ideas have been extened. (it homework)

  • imagine a robot with sixth sense technology and siri integrated into it...SKYNET! :P

  • organisations work and are impacted by PDDs as they might not be able to fuction without them an some of them work together to create new PDDS (personnel digital devises) this video hows us how interesting it can be an how clever it can get.

although with out digital devises the wouldn't be a digital divide (ICT homework )

  • what os is he running

  • @Darrylk22 Windows 8

  • im inspired wit his thinking. its just the technology dat we all look for den object.

n if his technology comes into common hands den im sure no one will waste more money for technology.

  • Steve Jobs would have made it better anyway :D

  • @MrSmithDynamite No disrespect to late Mr. Jobs, but truth is, he did not. And I am glad he didn't. None of Apple product is open-source . Pranav Mistry made a potential million dollar invention open-source. He is a genius in the truest sense, a contributor in its truest sense, a visionary. Steve Jobs, although a legend, was also a businessman. He couldn't done donated such a technology like Pranav Mistry did.

  • @MrCouscousable why do you have to tear someone down to build someone up

  • technology mei dam hai

  • @hsfbunny wow...so brilliant u r...why dint YOU go to the MIT and make something like this?

  • @RyanPridgeon and its SO SIMPLE to do it isnt it? urs is the most pseudo intellectual comment one can think of!

  • @MOROKOU actually ur dad used a FAKE CONDOM and u popped up on this planet!

  • @randomite88 ur comment is the MOST RANDOMITE ATTENTION SEEKING SEQUENCE OF WORDS i have seen of late!

  • @Xzibillionaire the biggest thing is to write the CODES for it my friend.

  • @VI0LET101 CONGRATULATE? we must THANK him for the generosity and congratulate ourselves to have got the opportunity to get hold of the software for this game changing technology for FREE!

  • @spazdor wtever that meant...but if was just an ATTENTION GRABBING attempt...congrats...you have had ur few seconds of fame...or INFAMY! you thought the MIT people are MORONS to invest millions in such projects?

  • @2hellwdignorance

you know what's an ATTENTION GRABBING attempt? posting a dozen replies in a row on one video.

No they're not morons, they just know a funding grant opportunity when they see one. But sorry, this just ISN'T the future of mobile computing. People don't want to wear projectors on their chests.

  • @spazdor of course the sizes of projectors are coming down too. there are even MOBILE phones with projectors..miniature technology you see!

  • @handsomeJajo oh yeah...to speak OXFORD LEVEL ENGLISH is the most important thing for a researcher to do! who gives a fuck to the CONTENT of what he wants to convey anyways! but sadly...it is INNOVATORS that grab all the awards and prizes...and not essentially people with great english language skills!

  • @sathalye oh yeah...to speak OXFORD LEVEL ENGLISH is the most important thing for a researcher to do! who gives a fuck to the CONTENT of what he wants to convey anyways!

  • Hi people are you looking properly? This was almost two years ago! What happened? What happened to the car that would work with water as the fuel?

Will the people who control the World allow ordinary people to gain such a huge amount of life control? Thank you

  • @ClubAngloTalking

    "What happened?"

cost. the camera/projector assembly costs 350$. and then you need a computing device on top of it.

the iphone is therefore cheaper, fills the same function, takes up less space, and is a lot less finicky.

maybe its not as futuristic as using your empty hand, but tracking technology like that is always finicky.

  • @pyr666 by making it open source, he did not mean everyone should make their own devices. now that the world is aware of his invention, any of the manufacturers can use the technology and come up with products. if he sold his ideas to one particular company, they would've owned that idea and kept it a secret. that way, they can price those devices at any amount they prefer. nobody will be able to compete with them because it would be illegal to use the technology that was sold to one company.

  • @ClubAngloTalking

its much the same for the car. but it also has the issue of infrastructure. if you're thinking of the same vid i am, he mentioned the alaska pipeline. the part he didnt mention is how much money its construction GAINED since then.

and cost is only part of the problem. there has to be motivation. TAPS was privately built in the 70s (well after oil was a huge industry) in response to oil shortages making the expenditure profitable.

  • awesome !!!

  • (More than a) Genius.

  • Genius.

  • the audience claps a the stupidest times

  • Awesome... Dis is just the beginning...:) future will be much more advanced....:D

  • I can see my best buddy Carloz Doing this!!! x-D

  • That is very cool tech

and he is a noble man for opening it to the public

  • well loads of hollywood movies relate to it...go go hollywood...matrix,tron,avatar,minority report to name a few

  • @ponnu1984 Ya but didnt he say it will be open source and will be in public with in next month......the video was shot in 2009........

  • @monkeymmr ya...u can ask him directly... hes in facebook and his website link is also given...

  • fantastic, but that was almost 2 years ago ! what happened ?

  • This is a game changer.

  • its amazin never miss from this type of unbelievable fact....

  • This technology is Amazing. Thank you for making it open source. Salutes to you sir.

  • Awesome....Proud to be an Indian :)

  • nice speech!

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • AMAZING!

  • maybe he was inspired by blues clues when blue & steve go into some book or something LOL

  • Bravoo..Thats we called An Invention..do not need devices..go green.. :)

  • this is the example of brilliance as well as billions

  • reminds me of minority report

  • @rousipoosi yaa....avatar in the long run xd

  • Some people are making too much money on soccer moms buying iPads for their brats to break

  • He is too nice. In the reality, the reason why we don't have these yet, somebody is buying up and restricting patents. Just like early engine designs. Electric car motors are nearly 150 years old.

  • @NickThomas1983 if you think of what's going on with the phones, and ipads/pad, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, etc technologies they all have some of the applications embedded into them from the presentation. The device he is using is more powerful to the devices.

  • Reminds me of J.A.R.V.I.S. from Stark Industries.

  • Say goodbye to retainable information and nondigital memories

  • I think this might be a fraud, he said over a year and a half agobthat he would release the source and instructions, but the link still says coming soon, google searches seem to turn up nothing. I want to build one NOW!

  • For Goodness sake go to MAC so we don't have to have viruses !

  • @2MyTubes Macs do in fact have viruses (An increasing number in the past decade), albeit a lot less than windows (although this is also due to the fact that most people use windows, so hackers tend to target windows instead).. If everyone went to MAC then hackers would spend more time creating viruses for MAC's..

  • I like the computers that use virtual tech into physical world not the other way around. like a hologram. I love the photo taker and email.

  • I like the computers that use virtual tech into physical world not the other way around. like a hologram.

  • best way to cheat in exams.

  • utopian and sensationalist but COOL!

  • Be careful. A intelligent robot would deceive humans

  • Good news people! This tech has promised to be built in the next year!

  • He is the real indian.

now the world will see that how much brain the indians have.

    awesome guy!

  • I WANT IT!!!!!

  • WHERE I GET ONE!

  • proud of u man!! great work,...useful t0 mankind dude...!!!

  • Btw who else thinks apple is just gonna take it and pretend they invented it?

  • To get this right : One man made the hardware, and the software for that thing. Plus he added somekind of a interface between online databases and the software.

    Thumbs up for genius :D

  • release date? lol

on pranav's website, a do-it-yourself for making this will be up soon

he says it costs about $350

  • Making this all a reality will require a lot of infrastructure to keep these ideas/solution running smoothly in a practical sense.

  • He is pure genius.

  • wait...what??

  • The real beauty is he made this amazing technology open source. Million Dollar worth technology, he gave it away to the future. The sticky note thing is already copied and implemented by a corporate company already, but they made it very expensive and it became a failure.

  • The real beauty is he made this amazing technology open source. Million Dollar worth technology, he gave it away to the future.

  • @krishnaallam Only to be patented by AT&T in 5 to 10 years when they find out about it.

  • @krishnaallam thats the freedom...that we humans should have..to innovate and share freely

  • this guy is good at making video and presentation. beside these, nothing else. His "sixthsense" has been talked about by him since 2009, but none of us has seen anything except vids made by him. Insteadly, a better thing was made, which may called portable hologram. Do you still believe this? Even if his "sixth somthing" is out, it will be pointless. Because all of these are just ideas. I can even think more...with my 8thsense, I can have time travel...

  • @classicleon He's supported by MIT. they aren't just "videos by him", they're demonstrations produced by MIT. They aren't just "ideas". They "were ideas" and he made them reality. obviously this is intricate and complicated. writing this type of software isn't as simple as just saying it. and now he has written most of it, now he has to perfect it and fix bugs before release. and if you're actually saying that this is "impractical" then you aren't seeing the possibilities...

  • @tansrn If you are so sure about " they're demonstrations produced by MIT", you must know him and you saw the real things. We'll see when the real thing is out, or we have chance to see them with our own eyes before someone else made the same thing. This is the reality. Well, let's wish you the good luck.

  • @classicleon

Oh noes, just ideas? Everything was just ideas. Not everything sprung up because it stepped out of a one bedroom apartment and wound up with MIT backing over night.

As far as practicality goes.. Up until the last decade, touch screens were considered impractical and clunky and would never make it to mainstream every day domestic life.

But you're right, for now, all we have here is a guy who is good at presentations. Even if he fails, surely some of his ideas are worth aping

  • @classicleon You're right. These are just concepts. But these idiots who are singing paeans to him don't realize that. It's like watching Star Wars movie and saying, "Wow, we can now make these spaceships and roam around the universe". Try to understand the difference between concept and reality. With videos you can demonstrate any concept, but making it reality is a whole different matter.

  • @mumbaikachokra You haven't got my points. A concept is actually the thing that is proved achievable in the future, and must come with a prototype that may not fully working but we should, at leaset, see the real demostration as he showed in his video.

Apparently he DID NOT bring his products to the stage at TED show; all we saw was just video he made.

  • @classicleon

Why would he lie about it?

so you say everything you see on youtube isnt true because it is just a video of something that works?

  • @8Desertfox8 wow wow wow, I didn't say that what he said was lie and I also didn't say vids on youtube are all lies. Instead, I gave the compliment to him about his video making skills. Please don't twist my comments.

  • TRON

  • you should put this into contact lenses which hold nano processors and nano LED's so it projects it into your vision and have some sort of connector to your brain that would wireless connect to it that maybe would go behind your ear like a bluetooth device

  • Where can I buy this?

  • It's good It's good but the real question is, Will It Blend?

  • Yeay, proud an indian guy thought of this not some white guy, no offence.

  • @SaberShiv whites created modern science. This is only an interesting, fun, but impractical trinket.

  • Enter the Matrix

  • holy crap this idea is awesome lol

  • For the mute, the camera could scan the user's sign language and play the audible words over a speaker for everyone to hear.

  • My God, this is amazing. What a wonderful feat this man has accomplished. This new technology has amazing potential! It is amazing to see what we have developed in such a short time.

  • he thought of all these things because he didn't want to work at his dad's 7/11..

  • @warbanter05 no stupid he's trying to make the world better. what your not doing by making ignorant racial remarks because of his ethnicity. Not all Indians work at 7-Eleven. Pick up a Bible and change your life clown. your not funny.

  • @h35t4r hilarious. a fucking catholic preaching about "racism"... why don';t you pick up your own shit you call the bible and learn for yourself who the fucking racist is

  • @warbanter05 WOW.. if you could be any more ignorant, you'd be dead. LOL (a) i'm not Catholic; you assumed which was ignorant (b) NO WHERE in Christianity, since your assuming because I said "Bible" I follow a monotheistic religion, does it document any thing acceptable about putting others down through abusive or aggressive behaviour towards members of another race, creed, culture, etc... if you knew anything about Catholicism, you'd know that the one of the 2 greatest commandments is LOVE

  • @h35t4r you really should read the bible before talking about it. it talks about love but it also talks about slavery, murder, rape, and much more things as being okay under certain circumstances that normal people would find horrible and detestable under ANY circumstances

  • @warbanter05 ...your neighbor as thy self and no part of your comment illustrated such type of love or the love of God. Just a stupid joke. Oh and cursing doesn't get your point across. I guess you were using it for emphasis #fail

  • This is probably going to run Apple off the market, or, iPaper and iWall, iHand. Just imagine buying a $500 piece of paper.

  • @ThatLegoBuilder Why buy "an ipaper" where normal paper would do just fine?

  • @shimweshi That's the point.

  • this shits awesome! think of all the possibilities! maybe they could use this for surgeries and shit.. im thinkin ahead haha

  • Holy fuck. An even more annoying new technology that further merges douchebags with the digital world AND still wastes paper.

I'm just going to build a fucking time machine and go BACKWARDS.

  • my mouth is still hanging open

  • great work! I wanna be the first one to get this when it comes out!

  • Imagine how big brother will be able to monitor everyone once we're all walking around with these things on.

  • btw. i like the newspaper thing. just like harry potter. ahahah!!

  • step towards a veryy hi-tech future. =)

    great job pranav!

  • We have to STOP hating those who are different from us. If we dont we will lose technology such as this!

  • Great! In the future, i can detect whether a girl has an STD or not by just looking at her!

  • @ImAllFact at the same time . even the gal would be using the same and would know how small and helpless ur dick is

  • @ImAllFact ...ya that would be fab...xd!

  • How does this help us be more in touch with the physical world ?

  • @RoryMacRury The idea is to keep u updated and aware of things going on in the real world easier than u do with ur computers and gadgets. You get to be the computer/gadgets. Its avant garde . lets jus see where it goes.

  • @RoryMacRury well, one fact that we dont have to sit our asses in a chair in front of a computer for hours. we wouldnt be confined in one place just to access our devices.
