Of course there are folks who prefer the English version. However, when it comes to anime themes, especially those that are closely emulated with the dub release, the majority tend to prefer the original Japanese instead.

I'm curious: do the English version DVDs - assuming that's where this intro's from - ever get the second opening sequence that features Eclair's and Lumiere's second bodies? (It's only a guess, but that version should start between episodes 17-18)

yes they do and it was actually episode 21 when it started. its the same song just a whole brand new video and with using the girl's new bodies instead of their previous ones

Well, it's not entirely new. (I've already seen the Japanese version of the second intro) It does slip in some footage of the v2 bodies for the girls, but it's almost completely identical to this one...especially at the very beginning.

i know i was just basically saying it just uses the 2nd bodies of the original intro and just made a few tweaks into the original intro to make it look more for that part of the season 1

True. But I wonder why the intro clips would get switched up so late - if you include ep21, there were only FOUR episodes remaining! That makes even less sense considering that their second version bodies for the series were revealed in ep18...how odd.

Oh? Have you watched any of the episodes? It doesn't actually start to pick up until around episodes nine or ten - a LOT of folks have complained about that. In all honesty, the first few eps actually ARE boring, all they really do is introduce all the characters gradually - starting with the core group in the first ep (Eclair, Lumiere, Armblest, Eclipse, Mercredi) and resident psychos Alv and Diverger in the second...

OF course, the English dub version's clearly NOT by her. I wonder if Funimation managed to get Jennifer Stigile to sing this adaptation...it sounds an awful lot like her. (She sang the songs for the US versions of Magic Knight Rayearth on the Saturn, Lunar: Silver Star Story, and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue on the Playstation, all back in the heyday of Working Designs...and she wasn't very good there, either.)

It is her. Her name is Yuka, and she is a Japanese Jazz singer whom sings in fluent English also. She also sings the 2 opening and ending themes to the anime Desert Punk. And she sings both Japanese and English versions of both songs also. In fact, the 2 closing theme to Desert Punk "Shinkiron" (Mirage) is one of the best anime songs I've ever heard. Check it out, just go too Desert punk opening theme then find the 2 ending theme and enjoy.

It is?! That's wild, it doesn't even sound like her in the English version, it sounds like a completely different person! (Especially considering that the soprano and alto lines in the English version are even more inconsistent and swap around between the lead and backups even MORE than in the Japanese version.) Guess Yuka's got mad game like that. (For comparison, "Life is Like a Boat" by Rie Fu (Bleach end theme #1) sports English AND Japanese lyrics, and they all sound like the same person.)

It's not as bad as it seems. It's actually pretty impressive considering that Funimation took the time and effort to translate the lyrics so that the song would be nearly identical to the Japanese version - which to an extent, this one's saying the same things. Of course, the chick singing this version isn't too great, but that can be ignored somewhat...

donno why Funimation Channel and Colors TV have to shorten the openings for about 15 seconds. They only have "Every bodies keeping seecrets. I dont wanna go back. The deep voice was better for the opening. It wasn't suited for the ending, which needed a light voice, but the opening needed either a strong vocie, or a deep, husky voice. Not a abd effort, though, in this case, the Japanese is a bit better.
