I lived on Lawton Ave around 1981. Never realized how close PAP was until there was a newspaper article about the tenth anniversary of the Park's closing. The paper said the ferris wheel was where the Winston Towers are located.
My dad Dempsey Hovland and his partner Sal held their annual Miss American Teenager pageant finals for the nation crown at the park every year until it closed beginning in the 1960s I have some photos.
i used to work at the lemonade stand in 1965 or 66. the owners were pat and gary. the guy who shook the lemonade up front after we made the drinks had huge muscular arms and he,d shake 2 glasses at once. attracted a lot of people . what memories!
