hey!!!u're great...hey plz give me some tips to master photoshop the tools and techniques,..i m totally stuck with this!i m finding problem..when working on the same..and plz tell me which all things to be concentrated most..
@amassasa Lol yeah. Well the main focus of this video was to show how to render the female form, not so much on armor design. Plus the sad fact of the matter is that if you are going to be a concept artist, you are going to have to paint female warriors in bikinis, it is just a part of the industry. Maybe I'll make a new one with a heavily armored female.
@RoscoeVision I created a keyboard shortcut for that, which is command f, for ctrl f for PCs. You can also just go to image - rotate canvas - flip canvas horizontal
hi i wolud like to know what blending mode do you use when adding color especialy wne adding color to skin...im currently coloring a character with pale skin but i cant seem to translate it when i overlay color
@nicotikibird It really depends on the situation and I don't just stick to one blending mode. I use several different blending modes and paint opaquely, so adding color isn't achieved by a single layer. I tend to use overlay and soft light the most. Color and hard light are also good modes to use.
@daarken Dude daarken when are you gonna bless us with another video? loved your interview with Dave on Crimson Daggers. I understand you maybe busy and snuff!
@Tea42formenyou Thanks! I should have my next one finished in July. I am out of the state until June 18th and then I am moving across the country at the beginning of July, so I probably won't have time to work on it until middle to late July.
def a day one buy from me! i just simply love the way you go through the process and i can with cirtanty feel a major improvement by observing a pro working on a painting!
@tom3167 Yeah, I actually talked about this in another comment below. If it is too much of a problem on the full version I will have to try and find a way to fix it, but that will mean an increase in background noise.
Thanks Daarken, I really appreciate that you're offering both free tutorials and also affordable 'real-time' tutorials. You're definitely a valued attribute to the art community. :)
I noticed something though, you use a round brush that was set at first to be less opaque than a default round brush instead of using a round brush that was already opaque and changing the opacity to a lower opacity. Is there a reason for this?
@olivepalm9 Thanks! I am not sure what you mean. The round brush I always use is set to 100% opacity with the opacity jitter set to pen pressure. So if it looks like it is less opaque that is because I am pressing very lightly, not because I changed the opacity by hand.
I think might need to check your volume levels, my youtube volume is to the max and my speakers are way up as well and I still have hard time hearing you.
@xonkonog Yes, unfortunately there is a trade-off with volume levels. I do not own professional recording equipment, so in order to reduce background noise as much as possible I had to mess around with the settings. I spent many days testing different mics, recording in different rooms, and using several different recording programs and editing the settings to find the best solution. Using headphones to listen to the videos helps a lot.
Thank you! The Liquify thing was especially interesting to see - I never knew that existed!
My main problem is probably getting started. I often have ideas in my head, or want to draw/paint something, but when I try to get something on paper/screen I just throw out everything I try after half a minute or so. I probably should just continue and something will come out of it, but then I have also heard a lot about not continuing with stupid ideas when you know theyre stupid.
dude what's shortcut for flip?

set the layer to overlay before i started the drawing or after i finished the black and white drawing?

should i set the layer to overlay before i start drawing or only after i finished the black and white painting?
hydragosh 8 months ago
@hydragosh After you finish the black and white drawing. The color goes on the overlay layer.
daarken 8 months ago
for the color do you set your brush to overlay and then paint over it?
Quinton101 1 year ago
@Quinton101 Nope, I usually set the layer to overlay, color, or hard light. The actual brush is just a normal brush.

what pen setting do you use for your brushes?
Heartless6262626 2 years ago
@Heartless6262626 Most of the time I just use a round brush with hardness set to 100% and opacity jitter set to pen pressure.
daarken 1 year ago
i try that but i cant seem to get the same effect you get.
