I hate this ride. It's the result of trying to put a big and powerful roller coaster in a very tight and small space. The result of that is going to be alot of sharp turns, always resulting in snapping necks and twisting heads. I love the park, but I wish their main coaster was better. Give it more room.

@ThatLPerGuy I hated this ride too. It was way too jerky, in my opinion, that I thought my head was gonna slam into the girl next to me or into the bar. I thought it was a very unsafe ride, and I walked off of it pissed off...usually people walk off of a ride happy and smiling.

I've been on different coasters in the past, and I'm pretty sure they are NOT supposed to be that jerky...lol. And the ironic thing is that when I first saw it, I thought "Oh, this is one of those "easy" coasters that even kids can get on." I had no idea how ridiculously jerky that thing was.

Overall this is good for a small coaster. It doesn't have the traditional "big first drop" like most coasters have, but also different in that most coasters slow down as they get to the end, this one speeds up. Also in the middle of the ride (0:35) there is an almost vertical drop into an upright loop (no it doesn't go upside down). You feel like you are going to flip right out of your seat. Then near the end is a helix in which you are practically on your side VERY close to the ground 0:55

Just to add, at the end of the video when the car pulls into the brake run you can see how twisted the layout is and how heavily banked the track is. For a small coaster it DOES pack a punch.

adventureland is a fake park, its nothing compared to a REAL park like six flags great adventure, if you want some real rides go there.

No it's not a fake park. It is a nice FAMILY park and there is something in the park for everyone. Granted the park is small and there isn't a hypercoaster to be seen, but it has it's good points too. Food is good, lines are short and that is something I can't say for Great Adventure. You spend most of your day on lines there. What does it cost to get into GA now $40? Adventureland is $24. Also this park was featured in 3 movies and 2 music videos. Can't say that for GA.

@jukingeo I totally agree with you. You can't compare GA and adventure land. That's like a honda civic compared to a Ferrari or Formula 1 car. This is a small family park. Although I loveboth parks, it's nice knowing that on any day i can jump in my car and in 10minutes I can be going on rides instead of a 2hr drive and wait on 45min lines.

@flightdave82 Yeah, it is a great little park for quick thrills. I used to live within walking distance of the park at one time. And I walked there as my 'exercise' plan and rewarded myself with a ride on this coaster. Have you noticed that they did make the park more open by 'shortening' the queues? They were rarely anyway when I worked at the park in '87. Really only this coaster and the haunted house had long lines. Other rides were mostly a 'walk on'. One of the charms of this park.

Ok, off the top of my head, the park appears in Sweet Liberty with Michael Caine, it also appears in Music & Lyrics with Drew Barrymore. Obviously the park was the basis behind the story of the movie "Adventureland" (yet they filmed that movie in Pittsburgh's Kennywood Park). The park was in two music videos, but only one I remember which is Chaka Khan's "Love of A Lifetime". They filmed this video the year I worked at the park.

Yes but on Long Island thats all you get except for fishing and apple orchards. The beaches on long island arn't that good unless you live in the rich parts. I cant wait to get of the island for good because there is nothing to do except when it's summer. And all of those summer time activitys are boring too. For god sake move if you can. @zerogcoaster Actually I always thought it would be a good idea if they bought the property next to the park (where Home Depot and Ace used to be). That property tends to flood and is the kiss of death for any business there. But if Adventureland bought the property and built a nice LARGE wooden coaster there, that would be cherry on the cake for the park. The part that floods could be made into a nice lake area. But alas, the park doesn't want to expand. Land IS expensive too.
