  • dayumn thats awesome

  • @BlackMusicGenre, I agree and its good point. The Blues FORM was created by african americans. Im not to learned on this, but it sprung from slavery and being oppressed in America. Its definitely American music, but it was given to us by African Americans.

  • he makes that guitar sing yaaaaaaaaaa

  • They have a sound so powerful they could turn goat piss into gasoline.

  • I really think every bad off note every crappy tone he plays he earned

  • The dogs bollocks , great sounds from two tallented guitarists .

  • buddy guy gives me goosebumps when he wails

  • Those two are just so damn cool. Period...

  • Yeahh...thanks to the old and new blues talents, it will last forever. Jonny Lang is a rare example of young awesome blues musicians. His feeling and soul is all about blues. - from Brazil

  • This is brilliant and its awesome to see young people bringing the blues back to life... i would really recommend that everyone who enjoys this listen to Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam - He's a local lad from the isle of man (where i live) and he's so damn amazing

  • Is Buddy Guy GOD? Or is GOD Buddy Guy? Let's not forget, Hendrix copied Buddy not Buddy Hendrix.

  • @productorricardo Yeah dude im hearin yah on that one. It pisses me off when people say that Hendrix had no one to be influenced by and made up everything on his own and then say Stevie Ray Vaughan was just a copy cat.

  • Buddy has always been the King of the Blues for me.....:)

  • @kragker im going to say SRV but Buddy Guy is a blues god as well

  • I'm diggin Buddy's pants.

  • lawd, dem boys be playin good n hard.....luv da blues!!!!!! they sure can make a guitar talk.

  • lawd, dem boys be playin good n hard.....luv da blues!!!!!!

  • He has the blues cause his mom got him famous :P just makin fun :P

  • I never met anyone without the blues

  • The Blues comes from God....

  • He's from Mpls. Not Fargo.

    Grew up in Minnetonka.

  • He's from Mpls. Not Fargo.

  • He's from Mpls. Not Fargo.

  • Look at jonny with his bare feet!!I betcha he didn't walk around barefoot back in North Dakota in december!!

  • one of the best blues singer, johnny's talent preceds him

  • I heard that Johnny got his love for the blues from Stevie Ray-correct me if I'm wrong....either way, whomever, that young boy can rock.To do what he did at 17 y.o. is mind-blowing!

  • show em buddy

  • Looks like Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

  • not Lang

  • Fucking J. Lang's insane!! Kudos to him (the Prodigy), at such a young age, to give it up to the Legend that is B. Guy!! Must have been un-fucking-real to have been there to witness it live!!! Thanks fo thu post!!! Band's insane, toooooo!!!

  • it is ironic that buddy guy plays blues and yet seems to be the most joyful person you could ever meet. transcendence??? i guess.

  • take a good look. that's kenny wayne shepherd, not johnny lang

  • Buddy you are great!

  • cool! this is about the same time i saw Buddy, first and last concert at the Sacramento Sheraton hotel ballroom, I say first and last because it was soooo loud, people complained for a dozen floors up. it was on bottom floor, about 1500 peeps. management said no more concerts ha. my ears rang for hours after.

  • ken and i where here f0r this. love the blues

  • I've watching Bonanza for weeks a friend reminded me of Johny Lang, Now this is how to make guitars sing Buddy Guy, Johny and the boys I tip my hat, Awesome... xoxo ;}

  • Good Blue's & Good Time's 5 *

  • I'm from seattle and you're damn right I got the blues

  • That's tight

  • Sweet. They play nice together. Nice to see the young players return to the roots of what made the 60s & 70s so great, musically speaking.

  • this is SO GOOD!!!

  • Check out Susan Tedeschi's version of this song with Derek Trucks band backing her up. I think its at the most recent crossroads concert. Its pretty amazing.

That being said Buddy is the man and so is Jonny.

  • those pants are the shit and did you see that strap he's using its all sparkly.

  • Does it really matter what he's wearing or what his guitar strap looks like...hell he could be naked with his guitar in his lap, for God's sake!! Go back to watchin' American idol

  • you must be stupid, here I'll help you those pants ARE THE SHIT!

  • Im a fan of Buddy Guy now.

  • Good show

  • excellent....*****

  • Loves it!! :)

  • April 16th, Edmonton!!!!

  • I got Buddy Guy w/ Jonny Lang tickets for Christmas. Going to be SICK!

  • @gordo2k6 is it in winnipeg?

  • no, edmonton

  • @gordo2k6 You Are so Lucky I'd KILL for those tickets!!!!!

p.s. where do you live? Just kidding lol!

  • lets hope jonny lang carries on this true blues sound that all of the great blues guitar players have taught him HES THE NEXT GENERATION he ha s to continue this legandary sound or it will DYE kepp playing the blues baby

  • @loveybells77 He's been doing more gospel lately actually

  • Davy Knowles, John Mayer, Johnny Lang...I think it will survive.

  • People say that SRV had such a unique style, BUT all of these great blues artists sound so unique. I hear them and know who they are by the way they play. VERY cool stuff

  • Jonny Lang, good looking, famous, must have sex with every girl he want and still plays with Buddy Guy. He wants more from life? He must be one of the happiest guys in the world!

  • He is happily married

  • You know him personally?

He even seems to be a guy and quiet and responsible!

  • huh?! actually we have mutual friends, if you must know. but what did that have to do with anything?

  • No I do not know!

I am Brazilian, I live in Brasilia capital of Brazil!

It's all about! The relationship of a marriage is something that can only be understood by those who participate in it!

  • Strange reply.

  • lang abn absolutely beginner there.

  • wow buddy guy is a cut above them all love his smile when he plays theres something very special going down there

  • beutiful

  • very nice:::::

  • Eric Clapton learned from Buddy Guy and Muddy Waters---have y'all seen any of them?? <3

  • thats what you get learning from muddy jonny is now learning from buddy :)

  • WISH I WAS THERE

  • Comment removed

  • Your so much of a idiot it must really hurt being you..

  • Buddy guy has sweet hair.

  • sweat hair

  • It don't matter where you come from or what color you are, blues is from the soul, not from the fingers or the guitar or the amp. If you got it, you can play it. If you don't got it, you can't play it.

  • @GymFloozie Well said. You're exactly right.

  • @GymFloozie Damn right son, Hendrix played a piece of shit right handed gutiar and he was LEFT handed. Same story with Ray Vaughn, both different color. That proves all your points, doesn't matter; where, what color, or defiantly the guitar and amp.

  • @GymFloozie And this boy has got it!

  • @GymFloozie Anybody can play blues , but lets not treat it like it fail out the sky . Respect the originators and the pain and struggle that created this music . I would never discredit another culture and say it doesn't matter . We're all different and we have different customs we share with our people and others . At the end of the day lets remember and respect the folks that made this music possible in the first place so that all can admire and enjoy .

  • @GymFloozie YOU either have it or you don't my friend and BG &JL well, they've got it. They're so funky blues baby ...........you ca smell em' !!!!!!

  • It is very disrespectful to say something like that about a legend , buddy guy rocks and his voice is BLUES BLUES BLUES

  • you're a complete utter fucking moron. buddy buy is one of the greatest blues singers and blues guitarists of all time. go listen to buddy guy when he was young and you will see how wrong you are.

  • skill has nothing to do with if its perfect or not. he sings with more soul than like anyone ever. therefore he is king.

  • Not that things work out this way, but imagine what you could learn from sitting down and having buddy guy teach you blues for hours each day for months on end...

  • Johnny's living proof that the blues aren't confined to the South or even Chicago. He grew up in chilly Fargo, ND. It's also home to Shannon Kurfman. Who says you can't get the blues from up north?

  • @tdfd023 yea look at john mayer and his fairfield CT self.

  • @tdfd023

LOL, And he`s also living proof that Buddy just spanked his ass ! hahaha

  • @FIRECRACKER392 haha, that is nothing to be ashamed of;after all Buddy Guy spanks almost any ones ass with his guitar.

  • @tdfd023 Shoot, Fargo is FREEZIN cold! I'd be livin the blues if I had to have a warmer to even start my car! Brrrr!

  • @tdfd023 blues in kentucky too hahaha

  • @tdfd023 joe bonamassas from the north as well

  • @tdfd023 couldnt agree more,, check out a young english fella by the name of Oli Brown,, 21 yrs old & playin the blues like SRV, Buddy, or any seasoned old blues man you could mention.. Keepin the blues alive for another generation of young people & keepin it topped up for oldies like me..

  • @tdfd023

If sitting it the freezing cold for the better part of every year doesn't give you the right to sing the blues, what does?

  • buddy guys playing just makes my whole body smile hes so slick and such a great bluesman! and not o mention Jonny hes also one hell of a bluesman! Thanks for this 1 ! :)

  • jonny was just 15 when he recorded his first album

  • Awsome in the extreme. So cool.

  • and johnny was just 16!

  • I love early Jonny. His later stuff? Not so much.

  • yeah andrew9395 you're a douche. lol

  • I can't get past his age. WOW!

  • saw buddy on saturday night what a performer

  • these were jonny langs prime years

  • Greatest of all time.

  • Fantastic.

  • Love this Buddy Guy!! :)

  • Ok, Buud guy messy, here's something you need to consider, LIFE IS MESSY! And the Blues is about life and your life expereinces, which feed your playing. Playing great technical blues is fine, but it comes across to me as blues that is played by the head, not the heart, which is why i, and others are ambivalent about mayer, not cause he is a bad player, but he plays from the head. Lay off Buddy, he plays with passion and intensity, and that in mu opinon is how the blues should be played.

  • I hear what your sayin bout John Mayer. I think he's getting to the point where he plays with his heart though. You gotta remember he did those two pop albums to establish a fan base before he went to the blues. He's almost there

  • Maybe, I hope so, because he is sort of setting the standard now as he is arguably the best known current blues player, and i would ahte for blues to turn into a techically pefect, but emotionless style.

  • Exactly. Have you heard Jimi Hendrix's blues album? Messy, but almost perfect blues. You can't complain about something that pure.

  • agree 100%, luike I said in an earlier comment, blues is l;ike life, messy, full of emtion, some mistakes, and lots of passion and emotions, some sadnes, some anger, some greif, some happiness, the blues encompasses all of life's spectrum of expereinces, which is why een though it is not technically hard or correct, when done well by the greats like Buddy Guy, Albert king etc, it channels passion and soul, thats what blues is about, to me anyway. Peace.

  • @bnapoleonc123 You said it right!

  • Man - Buddy's on fire!!

  • i'm not shure, but i think Buddy is a little bit ''too happy''

  • Moaning?LOL

    Buddy Guy is the man!

  • true statement

  • At 3:53 what I saw was him playing a bad lick there. He went to slide into that higher octave & missed the fret. Done that on stage many times,we all do. Fingers to the mouth is just a way of saying he was 'blowing off that BAD lick' All these guys are true Pros...

  • I saw this exact same thing in Portland on the 7th

  • 3:53 guy buddy splits his finger on the string, yells ow and goes to put his finger in his mouth. but without missing a beat decides to continue playing.

none is the wiser..... except me.

  • Your clearly wrong as the yell was his signature blues grunt triggered by a bad note due to the dryness of fretboard. Licking his finger was simply a quick lubricated for sliding his notes.

  • Just saw buddy and jonny and kenny wayne shepperd last night on the experience hendrix tour it was fucking awesome!!!

  • I saw Buddy guy in Manchester a few weeks ago his tone was oustanding had goose pimples all the way through. This is the man Clapton says was a MAIN INFLUENCE.

  • Buddy Guy is a Absolute Legend.

  • has jonny been on the cover of rolling stones, cause if he hasnt, someone fucked up.

  • the blues is about playing how you feel. not playing perfect. the blues and perfection have nothing to do with each other.

  • Define, "Messy." The blues is suppose to sound like that; it's not about technical prowess, it's about pouring your soul into what you're playing. Messing up occasionally only helps convey the emotions you're feeling to your audiance, not hinder it.

  • I like Buddy's pants. This was a sick show 2 btw

  • amazing player he really is.

  • messy?...what do you think the blues is???....messy ,puleeeeze

  • Buddy's been doing it for a long long time.Appreciate any chance you have to see him, there are too many greats whose time is over..............

  • Combining 2 of my favorite artists (both of whom were at Ottawa Bluesfest 2007). Thanks.

  • man I wish I was there!

  • I am a huge Buddy Guy fan and this is good stuff. he can get as messy as he wants. When your a legend you can do that

  • Buddy is messy because he's your pal.

  • Buddy Guy is a legend.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Stick to John Mayer for now...

(This is an awesome clip...wish Jonny would cross the pond...actually, last time I saw Buddy he opened with this one)...

  • john mayer is a great blues player

    quit hating

  • In order to appreciate Buddy, you really have to be in the audience. It's a completely different experience.

  • I thought that was great-wish i was there! see how young they are!!!!

  • Yeah! Thank you oh thank you! Great footage
