Beautiful song, and technically sound, but where is the emotion? This is incredibly moving text, and it sounds almost robotic here. I just sang this at my high school choir reunion concert (Colquitt County HS A Cappella Choir--80 years strong) and it brought many of us singing to tears along with our audience. These kids are good, no doubt, but try feeling some of what you're singing. Only then can you really connect with your audience.
@briarita I get what your saying but it's over a 1,000 member choir. It is near impossible to hear the emotion we had when we where singing. Yes I was in this choir. And it is a recording and nothing compared to actually being there, people in the audience DID in fact tear up.
I sang this song for the 2004 sd allstate chorus, same exact song...i love it but where is the veriety? i understand that it is a different conductor but i mean come on pick something else
@jstricks I was in that 2004 chorus too. This was my favorite song that year. I agree with you that there is little variety from year to year. I was in the SD All-State Choir from '02 - '05, and I've probably heard over half of the songs again since. Don't get me wrong, I love to hear new choirs sing them (especially because I remember most of the words and I can usually sing along), but there needs to be new music.
