  • She looks and sounds wonderful although I so find it odd nowadays to see a locomotive without a driver...

  • @DebenValleyLightRail - Wow Zach - this was a long time ago - that high pitched Chuffer didn't make it into production. Even the driver refused to drive it!

    Cheers

  • @Summerlandsteam Oh so it was a long time ago, its only just appeared to me on my youtube subscriptions panel how strange...

  • Hey, I have watches a few of your videos and I have seen that there is a regulator to start and stop but, how do you stop an engine without being seen or is there a trigger system remote control?

  • Hi - the videos of the Roundhouse Fowler, Argyll, Dakota and the more recent videos of L&B and Katie are all radio control. Where the locos in the other films appear to stop and then start it is because they build up steam pressure and re-start themselves - usually on a slight gradient.

  • Excuse my ignorace, but what's a Chuffer?

  • Hi - the Summerlands Chuffer is a development of the chuff pipe used to generate a chuffing sound from the exhaust steam of small steam locomotives. If you check out my Summerlandsteam channel, you will hear better examples.

  • Thanks , I'll try the other videos

  • Chris , a very nice video . Your conversion of the Edrig is superb . A really great little engine.

  • Thanks Charles - "Bert" had not been steamed for quite a while - but I think he's my favourite again ;-)

  • Thanks Jamie - and one day you will have that railway!!

Re your great film of steam at the Bath & West show - yes I must have seen you at 8min 40sec! Ladybird looked even better on Sat after the lads had given her the paraffin/oil polish.

    Cheers

  • Hi again Chris, sorry about the late reply, youtube did not send me an e-mail saying you had replied.

I'm sure you saw me, and the engines at the ESR could do with a bit of spit and polish as it were, don't have the volunteers to get them realy clean them in the mornings, mind you, might be the fact we don't have any paraffin!!!! :)

  • Great video Chris, I want a garden railway!

    Can't have one though! :)

Going back to the B&W, you must have seen me filming Ladybird on that long straight, you looked right at me! :)
