Michael Moore is a smart man, and many people don't like his point of view with different topics because they are lazy, and do not want to deal with change. When a person is taken out of their normal comfort zone with whatever it is they're used to doing, they become defensive and will try to oppose whatever it is that is being put into place or suggested, and will want to keep what it is that they're used to.

Don't you see the inherent contradiction? If getting his message out to as many people as possible is important then copyright, which protects the intellectual property of his message, is integral to the success of his message. So he should support the thing that protects his message.

Copyright protects his message. Capitalism is how he gets a return from his efforts. Not the same thing. Both stem from enclosure, but a poor person can copyright something and have his intellectual property be protected (which offers the opportunity to profit from his idea) whereas in capitalism the poor have little to no protection. My grandfather was beaten to death by corporate goons when he marched for unionization of his coal mine. The bought-off police never investigated. The union eventually got in after a lot of blood, and my dad's town went from being dirt-poor to almost liveable.
