  • that rake is sooo cool. its really interesting that you can make your own hay for winter.. iv been thinking about when i get cows, and how i don't want to buy hay from somebody else, now i can make it by myself. im guessing that this is one of the many lost arts in america?

  • Ah... We often wondered watching your families videos last year, if you'd thought of using a scythe ? Nice to see you enjoying the tool and being in the meadows :)

Raking and drying gets better the cleaner you cut the grass, i.e if there are no straggly un cut grass to get caught in the rake. Also you could throw that tarp over you shoulder like the old timers. I saw a video of an old lady carrying a masive pile of hay like this. This is also the way I put all most of the hay into our lofts.

  • the truly time honored craft hope your animals enjoy :0)

  • This brings back memories. We use to have to do this 2 or 3 times a year in an eleven acre field to put up hay for the cows. A person learns really quickly just how many animals their back can put through the winter. LOL Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.
