How do I attach the flowers to either the beanie or the cocoon? I have both of them made i just don't know how to put them together. PLEASE HELP !! :)
@135bzilly - I sew them on with the same matching yarn. Use a yarn / tapestry needle and attach from the inside of cocoon. Do the same for the matching beanie.
can you please add a link for a written pattern for this or put it in your comment area just a basic written pattern like how many rows of increases for average baby size and then how many regular rows and how long about it should be I know average baby is like 19-20 inches at birth but trying to deduct inches for average baby neck and head as you dont wont it to go over their head so I am guessing what 11 or 12 inches in length?
thank you so much..im now on row 13..still lookin a lil hatish...lol. hope mine looks at half as good as yours when i finish..i will also be following the hat video. pls continue to make more tutorials.
@tawnylibra - Please remember the 3 chains at the beginning counts as a DC. - go back and count your dc in each row. You have an extra dc somewhere along the way. You must be adding a dc into the last space, which is where you would already be slip stitching to go up to the next row. Eliminate that last dc.
so frustrated....this is day 3 and i just cant get past row 2..startin on row 3 i dont get it..after slip stiching for fow 3 did u double crochet 4 (incl chain) times and then increase. its very unclear. and shouldn't i be ending each row with an increase? pleaseee hellppp. i luv luv luv this cocoon. prettiest on on utube.
@tawnylibra - on row 3, after slip stitching you will crochet 3 chains, then 1dc into that same space, 1 dc in each of the next 2 chains, 2 dc in the next chain (this is your increase), then you repeat all the way around. Pattern = *2dc in next chain, 1 dc in each of the next 2 chains* repeat. Row 4: chain 3, 1 dc into that same space, 1 dc in each of the next 3 chains, 2 dc in next chain(this is your increase, Pattern = *2 dc in next chain, 1 dc in each of the next 3 chains*
@tawnylibra - Row 5 - chain 3, 1 dc in same stitch, then make 2 dc in each chain. An increase in each chain, total of 80 dc in this row. Row 6: chain to large hook size, chain 3, 1 dc in next stitch, 1 dc in each stitch around, for a total of 80. (No more increases) repeat row 6 until you reach your desired size. Remember, you just have to be sure you have the number of dc in each round that I indicate on the video instructions for that row. I hope this helps.
I have done 6 rows with no increasing, but it looks more like a big doily rather than a cocoon....did i do something wrong? or when does it begin to take the "cocoon" shape?
@bsorensen1000 - how many dc do you have in each round/row? There should be a total of 80 dc in each round with a size J hook. If you have less than this number something went wrong. (go back and review the video) If It is 80 dc in each round, keep going it will take shape, the beginning rows look like a doily, but it will change just be patient.
