thanks for commenting...i hope you get a chance to check out some of my other videos.....coz this is really not one of my best ones...but its the sentiment that counts.....
.....even tho its a little bit late......Happy New Year
Tasmania is not like the rest of Australia...a lot of people coming down to Tasmania from other Australian states...cant get over how green tassie is...whereas most of Australia would be brown and parched...tassie is nice and green even in summer....we do have droughts of course and water restricions at times...but nothing as bad as other parts of Australia....
we are a country of extreme weather conditions..on one end we can be getting floods in northern Queensland...... at the same time as we are getting drought conditions and bush fires elsewhere and if tassie cops a cold spell even in summer...... snow on Mt Wellington...but dont get me wrong it can get pretty hot in tassie too today was 36 degrees celsius and 2moro will be 31 degrees celsius....but theres not the same consistancy in tassies weather as in other parts of Australia
The bagpipes originated in Scotland and are probably more common in the UK than the USA but are also common in Australia due to the large migration of people from Scotland and the rest of the UK who brought their bagpipes with them and some of their traditions....thanks for your support and Happy New Year....
yeah i love that song too and its not that often you get someone playing it on bagpipes.....Happy New Year mate......if you check this vid out again i will have the words and the history to the song in the info section.....
but i did take this video on New Years Eve about midday and i especially requested the Bagpiper to play Aulde Lang Syne for me...i dont know what his name is...i forgot to ask......but the song has become associated with New Years Eve more than any other song......
I would like to be able to tell you that i went around on New Years Eve and took all these wonderful videos of Hobartians celebrating, watching Fireworks, seeing the New Year in and partying...but unfortunately i was working New Years Eve and into 2010 so i was unable to take any videos...
I hope those tourists gave you a tip for the photo shoot!!! I think the lady with the pink hat that tipped you must have been a Scot, she walked past a few days and I think she really liked it. It's nice when you make someone's day! Happy New Year! Blessings FLETCHER
yeah i reckon those tourists should have given me a tip for the photo shoot....but i certainly gave a tip to the bagpiper for playing Aulde Lang Syne for me....

It's interesting to see it sunny and green around New Years Eve. Where I live, it is winter during New Years Eve.

I forgot about that. Also, from what I have heard, an El nino can really dry out central Australia.
