  • it looks like her head's too big for her body! she's adorable, my puppy does that aswell

  • sweet:)

  • Our Dalmation was definately a loveable dog... show her a bone and she loved it....give her a thick rope with a knot tied in the middle and throw it as far as you could.., she would chase it running 30 mph and fall head over heal trying to get that rope. She would chase her rope for many hours. When she turned 13-14 yrs, she was slowing down and age was taking over... She chased the rope 1 more time and that was it. At 15, she could no longer stand up or go to poddy so vet had to do it.

  • Lol, I read my email that the media is saying that Dalmatians are "crazy", what on earth for?

A bad dog or dalmatian, is typically from a bad owner (bad behaviour is not hereditary) it is taught - or a bad tempered Dalmatian may have agressive breeds that are not recommended as a family pets, mixed in with them.

Send the media my way - Millie will soon change their mind ;-)

  • @wikininja42

    agressive breeds? like what? :0

    un-tamed wolves? XD

  • Hey, I'm researching and thinking about getting a Dalmatian pup. How is your dog so far? I want opinions from actual Dal owners not the media.

    Thanks. :-)

  • No Problem. Millie has an excellent temperment. She will make a fantastic family dog because she is so plesant and welcomes everyone she meets.

Dalmatians are known for making good family pets around children because they are usually friendly. But it is always important to buy a new pup from about 8 weeks old, because this is the best age to start disiplining and training them with good behaviour. If their mother or father had / has a bad temperment, I recommend that you shouldn't buy one.

  • Most importantly if the mother has a bad temperment and has any bad habbits the puppies will learn it all from her, so it is usually good to purchase one from a valued breeder or from someone where you can actually see the puppies mother in person.

Millie has a quality pedigree and most websites will confirm what to look for if you are looking for a good Dalmatian. Black or Olive spotted Dalmatians are both good. The nose should be dark or black and the darker the eyes the better.

  • Blue eyes can signify blindness and Dalmatian puppies should always have their hearing checked by their local vet (because they can be born with poor or no hearing). However, a quality breeder should be trying to breed these fault out of their blood line, so it is quite safe to go to a proper breeder. Otherwise, have a vet check your puppy before purchasing.

Dalmatians do like attention and Millie loves to go for a walk each day, but even playing fetch in a decent back yard is sufficent.

  • If you ever consider buying two dogs, Dalmatians are fantastic in pairs because they love anyones company.

    Millie always loves getting cuddles.

Dalmatians are also known as "food" dogs, meaning they will do most things for food so they are quite easy to train.

I taught Millie to roll over at 12 weeks old.

  • Millie is also full of personality, there is never a dull moment unless she's sleeping, and even then she tries to run and back when she is dreaming which is really funny.

Dalmatians are known for their unique smile. Many who are strange to Dalmatians think that they look like they are snarling by showing all their front teeth. They do this by lifting their up their top lip usually when get are excited.

  • Oh, also this film clip looks interesting because I keep avoiding her very sharp puppy teeth. Until around 14 weeks old, Millie wanted to chew anything she could. This means lots of fun chew toys and chewy food is good for young Dalmatians. I was told some brilliant advice from our breeder that you should never set your puppy up to fail. So if they go to chew your door mat, give them their toy and take the mat away. This way they learn without feeling like a disappointment to you.

  • Dalmatians have a good memory and do not forget discipline. I found the best way to stop "bitting" is to yelp so loud that it scares them and this way, Millie got the hint. I would also send her out into her yard for some solitude sometimes - which she really did not like.

After awhile when she calmed down, I would always bring her back inside and give her lots of affection so she did not dwell on being disciplined for very long.

  • Hope this has helped you make a decision. All round, I think Millie is wonderful and I wouldn't trade her for anything! :-)

  • What's that tap sound at 0:05?

  • Millie reached up and tapped the camera with her paw. She liked to play on her back a lot, like a kitten.

  • Nice video, I will add this video on my youtube list "Best of Dalmatian dog" :D! Cute dalmatian, cute ....

  • Wow, she's gorgeous!

  • She looks a lot like our Dalmatian. Very cute!

  • IT WAS OK

  • It's funny that people on youtube think that videos are only about getting ratings. I put this video online to show people my wonderful puppy, not to get great ratings...

  • well im glad you did :)

    shes so adorable!
