I like the E8 myself but haven't been able to find any at the LHS. Closest I could find was an E7. As for the E6 I'm not too crazy about the long nose on it but I'm not going to say no to a free one.
I've never had any quality problems with any of my E6's. These two newest ones I got were gutted by someone else and made into dummies. I re-motored one with pieces of one that I had dropped.
