  • @lovablereborns nope

  • memory card fail.

  • my fucking phone wont work >: [

i put in a sim card, wut fucking settings do i put?

i spent 300$+ on this fucking thing and i fucking PRAY it works V_V

  • wow i thought this phone was fake XD

  • can you go on blackberry messenger ?

  • @kingvankapoe no shit dumbass

  • Note:anyone that buys this phone will have problems(maybe) for example if you put the password wrong to many times it will wipe itself so get the blackberry curve that's red and has camera

  • @tainofigueroa all blackberries will wipe itself if u enter the wrong password dumbass

  • blackberry 8830 or 9700 ?

    1] I love texting

    2] NEEDS WI-FI!!!

3] Phone quality should be good

4] Camera -3 MP or higher with video if possible-

5] thing/ sleek and nice form factor

  • @CandianSuplex blackberry 9700 way better and its newer i wanted a blackberry 8830 my self but couldnt get one cause of having to pay for the required data plan every month so i got the blackberry 8830

  • @CandianSuplex okay DEFINATELY the 9700 as its like the best phone ever and this one has no camera and is very old

  • "It's a little difficult to slide in there."

    THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID LOLOLOL

    YA MOUTH BREATHER.

  • this is not the 8830 this is the 8820

  • no camera?

  • do you have to have a sim card to buy a 8830 like say i bought one from ebay?

  • blackberry 8830 or blackberry curve 8330 ?

  • get a curve its way better

  • Can i use this phone with Metro Pcs? Because i just brought one and i want to know. Also can i use the internet and everything else just like in Sprint? Thanks , i hate how it does not have a camera though!! :(

  • does this mean that we could get a verizon 8830 and put a uk sim card in and the sim card would work

  • i want one

  • dont get it , TAKE MY ADIVCE

  • The Blackberry 8830 is awesome. I've been using it for like 2 weeks now and I can't put it down. I love playing games on it.

  • does it have bb chat thing

  • Mhm and there's a bunch of other chat apps and other apps in general that work out really well on this blackberry. The only downside I've had so far is that there's only s much space with the phone itself and you'll need a sim card for extra memory if you're a big downloading person. But there's enough space to begin with. I just kinda spam the hell outta my blackberry lol

  • @MillionDolllarMike you mean BBM, and it depends on which service you're using. which is kinda stupid if u ask me it defeats the purpose of getting a blackberry lol

  • that charging port. there is no issue's my blackberry charges fine

  • Don't by this phone. The charging port is bogus. Go to google type "blackberry 8830 port" you'll find plenty of people having issues with the charging port.

  • Your right i had to change mine 3 times so instead of getting a 4th one i just upgraded

  • the only thing that concerns me is the screen. it looks small compared to the blackberry curve. should i get that insted?

  • the screens are basically the same size, the curve's main difference from the 8830 is that it has a camera, and it is smaller.. they both work very well tho

  • You should get the world edition definitely. It's newer and it's shiny compared to the dull looking curve.

  • does this phone come with a sim card from alltel?....if so could you potential take the sim card out of the bb and put it in another GSM unlocked phone?

  • will this phone work in belarus

  • I love the way the back of this phone looks.

  • i just got one of these and cant get the back plate off...how do u do it?

  • 8830 is not gsm in us because gsm in eu is a different frequency.

  • Shit, now I really want one of these!

  • Why? It's OLD. Get the Bold or the Storm!

  • It don't even have a camera

  • man, it is always exciting unboxing a new cell phone.I never get sick of that feeling.

  • yr a nerd

  • fuck you,lame ass nigga

  • Don't use racial slurs. It makes you look as ignorant as wrichboy.

  • no, GSM 900/1800 is not in the US, so its not going to work at all.

  • because alltel has it locked to only use alltel sim cards..... but im sure you can get that unlock..

  • whats the different between the 8800 8820 and 8830?

which is better for a 14 year old.haaaa.

    reply please.

  • Umm different features for each.

For a 14 year old, like me. Get the pearl or the curve. I perfer my curve ;]. The 88XX series is more buinessy

  • and it dosent have a camera...

at least i dont think it does.

  • how much does these usually run? cause Im just getting into smartphones.

  • whats a rogers car lmao

  • a rogers sim card

  • its cool when they give u a case with your phone

  • Lol imagine if you got that for your birthday and you were so excited you accidently thrw it onto the concrete

  • whats the diff between 8820 and 8830? Nice review btw

  • the difference between the 8820 and 8830 is radio technology. the 8820 works on the GSM such as ATT (cingular) or T-Mobile. and the 8830 is a CDMA technology so like Sprint, Verizon, Alltel. Now if it is a XX30 means CDMA and XX10 or XX20 or XX00 means GSM.

  • I just bought mine for $101 on ebay, should be here in a couple days, I can't wait!!

  • hey i feel really stupid for asking this but does the qwerty keyboard light up? like anything? haha. send me a message yeah? thanks

  • hey i feel really stupid for asking this but does the qwerty keyboard light up? like anything? haha. send me a message yeah? thanks

  • dang just wait for the 8330 curve

  • Still want one, camera or not.

  • that phone would be really cool if they put a

2 mp camera... I'm sure everybody will be satisfied... :)

  • The 8820 does wifi. Its basically the same phone. The 8820 is not free though. This one, the 8830, you can get for free from sprint with the rebates.

Why they made this phone without wifi amazes me. I can understand not having the camera as this phone was intended for business. I can live without the camera, but no wifi, thats tuff.

  • PERFECT PHONE except no camera

  • are the keys a good size for texting? im very.. very sad theres no camera.. thats about one of the dumbest things to leave a phone without! perfect size screen but.. no camera; so are the keys big enough?

  • yeah i think its easier to text on it than some of the phones ive had before.

  • how much is this fone without the corporate discount?

  • Why? Why? Why no camera?!!!! That would be an excellent addition.

  • The only thing that kept me from getting that phone is the fact that it doesn't have a camera. So I got the pearl.

  • Well the BlackBerry will be tied down to Alltel no matter what, so you can't use the sim card in the states due to it is a CDMA Device first then GSM, which means when you were in Canada it will not work due to the BlackBerry IMEI must me active with Rogers for this to work, it would be worth to buy a ATT BlackBerry because of the GSM

  • y dont u guys do more alltel fones ??????????

  • ugh no camera.

oh and whats the difference between this and the 8800.

  • im gettin this phone howlong does the battery last

  • is it wifi cap.?

  • a camera would really help the phone..

  • If this guy knew anything about Blackberries he would know that the GSM frequencies for this Blackberry (900/1800) are for use overseas and not here in the states. He pops in a Canadian SIM card and wants it to work in Florida. If you are going to review something it would be helpful to do some research on the device and at least act like you know what you are talking about.

  • It didnt work when it made it up to Canada either...

  • Of course it didn't. If you read my post you would see that this Blackberry runs on 900/1800 frequencies which are nowhere to be found in Canada or North America for that matter.

  • yup xchpstang is right. phone only works across the pond. US doesn't use 900/1800 bands of GSM.

  • true the reason they did this was because they didn't want the customers to have the option to go to a different carrier anywhere in north America which is really stupid I think. as you said the choose 900 and 1800 so it would work overseas. blackberry wouldn't have any problem putting all frequencies in there its just sad how these A-hole companies try to control everything
