at first it didn't seem like much. gavrilov does sound too heavy for a while,. however at 6:54 is when it really starts to shine and the brilliance shows. quality.
@japanesesweet I think you are right. Handel was known to be the greatest improvisator of his time. And he's compositions seems to be coloured by that. But that's the charm and the greatness of Händel's works. But, of cource, that's only my opinion.
Richter is a mature genius. Gavrilov is young and fiery, a genius, but not in Richters class.

Because the recording technique in the background is the same, they can be compared with each other. Very interesting and rare.

Great playing from both of them and the ideal acoustic for piano music.
Sometimes i prefer listening to these Suites than the Bach keyboard music- -GFH has a more open,improvisatory style.
