  • looks like wing chun but very good still none the less....nice video

  • Maul will be teaching the scarf in New York City on the weekend of November 20-21, I would recommend all who are interested to come.

  • @dtraindoes And it was awesome. It is always an awesome time training with this rare master.

  • GRAND MASTER!!

  • 3:25-3:28... what just happened? how the hell did he do that??

  • this is a dance move...in my opinion this doesn't works in a combat situation, but only with a collaborative opponent!!!

  • @eskerikia trust me, i've seen my friends training bujinkan taijutsu and the rope (belt, scarf, tie, flexible whatever) techniques work if you are fast and know what you are doing. I've seen it work against completely resisting opponents.

  • @eskerikia a real combat situation your gonna most likely run into street fighters who will most likely try to box and use limited kicks...a pro boxer practices hours upon hours and learns how to fight really well.this type of fighting needs double or even triple the effort because there are so many other moves and most using 2,3 strikes at the same time. once you comprehend the movements though and practice it's like taking candy from a baby..really good stuff if you put in the work

  • really interesting..

  • Of Course This is Bruneian and Im a Bruneian too (Maybe some of you doesnt know what Brunei is, Brunei is a country, maybe boring but full of tresures) GO BRUNEI!!!!

  • i feel soo bad for the guy getin the sht beat outa him

  • Maul - This is amazing, never seen anything like this before

  • One question - are these uke falling on their own or is it complied?

I am only asking this because if they are this teacher is a master of leverage because it does not look like he is exerting any energy and they are falling down

  • Yes, He is also known as "Master of Puppets" by afew martial arts academies in Europe. He is an expert in controlling leverage and positioning with subtle momentum. Guru Maul is awesome to watch and amazing to feel.

  • @BroodCast

Hey man...I guess I will have to find out if he ever treks out to Canada...I learned silat before and the takedowns seem with ease...this dude is making it way easier than I did though...LOL

  • i love this guy the techniques are cool

  • Karnebali, guys like you crack me the phuck up. If you're so convinced it won't work, go to their dojo and pick a fight tough guy.

  • a scarf can not only keep you warm but it can also

put some hurt on the bad guys....

Does the 'm' in the background of the video stand for Maul? :-)

  • this is stupid, this will not work for real life

  • @karnebali are u learning any martial arts?

  • nun chaku like pose in the end is the best part of the viddeo

  • Wicked video. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Great skill, the best Silat.

    Carlo

  • very good....thank you

  • assalamua'laikum w.b.t. Guru Maul

Congrats...Without a doubt what you are showing is great..but i cant stop thinking about your style of silat. Is it purely bruneian art or a mixture of what you have learn previously? i really would like to know your who is your Guru and the "salasilah permainan" that you are showing...

    terima kasih and wassalamualaikum...

  • Guru Maul = Great :)

  • very interesting martial art very clever...

  • This guy is good! Lovely stuff! Pleasure to watch! foget the Nay Sayers! Just remove them!

    :)

  • History? Are you kidding? a one on one fight on the street? doing a choke or an armbar on the ground against a knife or any sharp weapons is NOT realistic. On the streets you dont get trophies. The referee wont stop a fight if you tap or you get stabbed.

  • UFC is sports with rules. This isnt. Grow up!

  • I wouldn't worry about it...The UFC would never work in the jungle.

UFC fighters hate bleeding to death.

  • @PendekarBobbe correct guru bobee, highkick like cocrop?...it wont work in the sandy/muddy/shallow water surface, thats why we dont have alot of high kick in silat. for anybody that think silat is not for real: we are not always fight in a hard, plain and clean surface like in the ring /arena. when we fight in jungle, where the surface is slippery high kick is a silly move. thats is one reason that U should stop to believe MMA fighter is the bad ass fighter of the world

  • The best video of Silat in surprising precision, never seen before, thanks to have posted you are legendary brother

  • Superb work again Maul!!

Great recent seminar also. Already looking forward to the session in June. Alun

  • lovely....nice and loose. Beautifully precise.

  • wow... ive never seen this style before... very impressive.. all the best in your martial arts journey.

  • Pak Maul here uses interesting variant of whip and kerambit technique with scarf.

It is an excellent technique with an improvised weapon.

I would like to see Pak Maul use some more modern weapons easily at hand- such as credit card (like arit technique) or perhaps car key.

I like the video where he use wallet to trap a knife.

It is very tricky- and good piece of showmanship.

  • very good moves you have.

    You are a real professional.

    good luck

  • hi i am from java indonesia i learn silat before and this guy (maui) has the best move.. good job.

  • Without doubt Maul is the best out there in my opinion.

  • Awesome stuff. I really love your approach to silat I would love to bring you in for a seminar.

  • thé best in my opinion..10 stars!!!
