@AweSomo84 Yes I do. He is happy, healthy, a troublemaker, & smart! Sadly his horrific injuries from that fall has left him with a blind eye and a crooked beak (can't eat on his own) but that doesn't stop him from enjoying his birdie life. His disabilities doesn't hold him down & I love him for that. He is so strong! I will post a recent vid of him soon! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing this. I need help! I found a baby mynah slightly older than this one on your vid. It has opened eyes but still has some soft feathers and a very short tail. I found it in the market. Someone placed it in a box and left it there on the table and then left! Must have hoped someone else would keep it, obviously I did. But it refuse to eat, I tried to drop a tiny amount of water on the beak, has difficulty swallowing, not opening its mouth to feed and very quiet. Help me!
@SuperModerngranny Thank you for having a big heart & taking in a fragile baby bird. First thing you need to do is KEEP HIM WARM. I bought a heating pad (without the automatic switch off) & placed it on one side of that shallow bucket I had in vid. You must keep it on 24/7 until all feathers grow. If he gets too hot he'll move to the other side. DO NOT ever feed baby birds water, That can aspirate him and do not give him bread (no nutritional value). Instead feed him canned dog food (low iron).
@SuperModerngranny Depending on his age, he probably in your case may need to be fed 2-3x a day. Do not force feed him but you can encourage him to eat by using my chopstick method and tapping his beak from the side to open mouth. Make sure he swallows each bite fully before you give me another bite. My bird also likes papaya, mango, and apples. That was a treat for him. 30% of his diet consist of fruits. Feel free to message me or write on here for further assistance. Good Luck!!!
@peypeyneekin I fed him my dog's food (low iron).Since my dog eats dry food I soaked it in hot water, drained excess water when it softened, mashed it up, & cooled it down (using my freezer). I would stick my finger in the food to make sure it's not too hot and then fed it to him. He loved it. That was temporary until I got the baby bird formula for wild birds. Time to time though I still give him my dog's food and he still loves it. Mynahs need to be on low iron diet. Lots of iron can kill them.
you still have the bird ? :).
