  • Just did it, had a friend with soldering experience and computer repair do it with me and it works great,

  • Were do i get the the new switches i took it apart but i dnt no how you got the new strum pieces were did they come from?

  • I need help!

my guitar controller for the WT happens to work with the receiver only when removing the neck of the guitar (which only leaves the guitar body workin), but right after I put the neck the red light just turns off and it stops working.

what can I do, please help if anybody knows how to fix it!

  • Is it possible to fix the strum problem on the les paul guitar?

  • when you take things apart, put parts in a box or something so you dont loose parts.

  • its a simple fix,i had 2 of those switches that had wheel on the end of the metal plate.i snipped those wheels off, unsoldered the 3 joints per switch, replaced in reverse order.works like a champ.takes time friends.

  • Where can I buy strum bar Springs for the Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar?

I lost the two springs for the guitar when i replaced a strummer switch.

  • A real guitar looks less complicated than this piece of plastic. Fucking 21th century))

  • Thanks, I opened my guitar with your video!

  • @coiotes NOTE: I changed SW1 and SW2 and the guitar work fine .... positive feedback to you !

  • METALLICA!!!

  • you can also do the cheat always slide then you dont have to strum

  • ok my guitar hero world tour guitar isn't broken but i was wondering if you can just make the strum bar silent?

  • where can u buy the replacement for wii

  • X-plorer is a best guitar in guitar hero

  • Dude, I get really pissed off and I threw my guitar on the floor. The strumming won't work. You think it's permenantly broke?

  • @MrKat22 And you say I'm bad. "I get really pissed off and I threw my guitar on the floor". One you idiot it should be got. Learn sentence structure before you start talking about grammar.

  • @MrKat22 open it up and take a look!

  • @wethepeople3 But how would I know if it's broke?

  • @MrKat22 its broken if its not working, the fun part is figuring out what to fix

  • @MrKat22 lol dude i had gh world tour and my strum broke too so i got pissed alot cause i didnt have screwdrivers that fit in it so i took a knife and trashed it !!! and then trowed it to the waste ! and after one month ... my ghwt cd got stolen !!!!

  • @drizzleDC Dude that really blows haha.

  • @MrKat22 I did the same thing with my wii remote. Shit happens.

  • i will get a new guitar . which is the best ???

  • @wassimagha I advice GH5 controller, i'm gonna buy it soon too.

  • what about for the les paul? My 360 les paul controller strums all weird. : /

  • I use this to hide my weed :)

  • dude all I have on my strum bar curicet thing is a copper peace that is toughing 2 solders :S I don't get it......

  • @snakev10v5 link me to a picture of it

  • Where can i get the switch for the GH5 controller?

  • very good job man..i ll try in my crapy guitar, thanks dude!

  • It worked perfectly, my guitar had this problem loooong time ago... i cant belive how easy it was to fix... by the way i had to buy torx "thingy" he, in order to pull out the screws but it was woth it the microswitch was only a dollar... thanks for the tip

  • I played GH games for quite some time and now my bro blames me for causing the down strum problem. It worked mostly for me but the problem always existed. So if I'm correct, this might fix that so I can keep playing hard mode without any problems?

  • my Torx thingy is too short ! >,< cant get to those screws ...

  • @kaffeebohne777 you can buy longer ones, if not use a small flat head to get it out a little then use the torx!

  • @wethepeople3 found that out by myself , thanks :)

  • you should show a video of you soldiering just incase some people dont know how.

  • where did you get those tools to pull out the screws? know anyhwere online?

  • @johnkehr95 I got mine from dicksmith electronics. Try eBay?

  • @wethepeople3 lol, dicksmith:)

  • what's the name of this switch?

    Thanks.

  • thanks for the comments guys =]

  • you can just take it off easily from were the stock part comes off

    just saying

  • my strummer is fine its just it starts strumming on its own when i try to play a song

  • @elbarto671 yes omg i got the same problem

  • hey um idk if this will work for u guys, but, i fixed my strummer by instead of replacing the swtches, i pushed really hard on the metal piece(pushing it like it would if you strumed it).

i simply just turned it on while i had it open and tested it and well it worked

but like i said that might not work for everyone, but it might save u a dollar or two

  • Agreeing with this. Pushing hard on the metal can fix it. I spent maybe 2min pushing hard on the metal, worked a charm, no solder no wires no nothing :P

  • my strummer on my guitar hero guitar has stopped working and it wont work anymore what shall i do

  • what kind of switch is it that you got to fix the problem.

  • i got the same switch, you just have to cut down the metal piece on it

  • so you have to just cut it down not buy a new switch ? if you just have to cut it down how far did u cut it to make the strum work better ?

  • i have a weird prolbem , if i strum down sometimes it does a double strum , but i strum single but the game make it strum double...

    please someone help me

  • @knackworsty007

look for a double strum fix

I dont think you need to solder of anything

  • do you know how to solve?

  • where would i get new switches ... ?

  • where do i get the micro swich?

  • on my guitar it says void if removed, will it really stop working or is that just bull

  • that is a sticker, if that sticker is damaged and you try to return the product back to where you brought it from they will not accept it back.. its just a warning.

  • oh ok i guess i can take it apart then

  • soldering is not easy, after 3 hours I still couldn't get the bloody switch out.

  • i have been soldering for years.. its easy.. you need some copper to suck up the old solder to make it easier.

  • true I didn't have any solder wick but no where did it mention that I needed any

  • no sorry i didnt mention it. i didnt need any lol but yes

  • This will help.

  • that guitar the ps3 one??

  • no this was for xbox 360. im sure the insides of the ps3 guitar are the same!

  • thanks reaL HELPFULL BRO

  • Oh thats not bad. id just need the solder.:D thanks

  • Fuck i fixed my guitar hero symbols easy and i thought fixing the guitar was going to be easy...fuck! Id have to get a solder and a switch from ebay?! fuck that shit!

  • you can get switches from any electronics store.... i fixed the drum set to.. i rewired the whole thing

  • you can buy the switches at radioshack for about $3 a piece but yes you would need to solder it in

  • i didn´t see the mistake on the switches, can u tell me?

will it be the same for the wii world tour guitar?

  • wouldnt have a clue.. inside the switches wear out

  • fuck this, my drums were easy to fix but this is to much fucking work. im buying a new one.

  • where do u get new micro switches like where in a local store ?

  • you can get them on ebay for a couple of quid, I got mine from a website selling guitar hero repiar bits

  • lol never mind somehow the guitar got fixed maybe i was just overreacting cuz now it works good

  • but i already put the stickers on it...is dat OK??

  • it should be if not take the stickers off and clean it... the only thing is you wont get stickers with the other one they will just replace the guitar not the game!

  • i hav a guitar....it stums up but doesnt stum down...when i stum up der is a click sound right??but if i strum down der isnt....

how do u fix dis..!!HELP!!its d onli 3rd day of my guitar...

  • if you have only had it for 3 days take it back and get another one. thats what i did with my other one!

  • 3:16 i got lost. how do you unsolder something?

sorry im new to repairing and stuff

  • @Epic0fear0 use a solder sucker u melt the solder and then u suck it with the solder sucker when its melted

  • god damn it who ever had that last post i accidentally deleted your post.. i wanted to reply to it sorry!! feel free to repost thanks

  • FYI the 6 pointed screwdriver is called Torx.

  • Tip to you guys, ply it open at the bottom sides and then at the strap holder areas.

  • You could just pull from where the neck connects to the body. There's a little notch where it's just the faceplate.

  • is there any way of doing that without replacing the switches

  • No. The switches have to be replaced, if they're worn and defective.

  • mine only seem to be intermitent like it gets worse at some points than others and i dont have a soldering thing:(

  • It may be cheaper just to buy a new GH controller, and a lot less trouble than getting a soldering gun, replacement switches and learning to solder. Argos are currently listing XBox GH controllers for 9.99.

  • i dont undrestand...only solder and its old ?

  • i bought everything i needed to fix mine at radioshack (the source) took about 20 mins, but i suggest you replace both the switches at the same time, originally i only replaced the one, but then the strumming felt funny cause the one switch was harder to push down than the other, so its best to have two of the same switches, also you might need to bend up the metal part of the switch so the strum bar reaches the switch, even 1mm lower profile and the strummer misses the switch

  • Hi, umm, where can I buy the replacement switches? I didn't think parts like that were sold separately and I just had this broken guitar laying here for half a year.. Lol, thanks for this. I'm just not sure where and what to search to find these replacements. Thanks.

  • they are called micro switches... can get them from any electronics store. in australia its called jaycar or dicksmith electronics.. take in the part and ask them for some replacement switches

  • Thank you. I got them from virtualvillage(dot)com.

  • what are the details of the switch... i.e voltage etc

  • Voltage is not critical, it's only very low voltages used here.

Take the old switch to an electronics store like Maplin, RadioShack, etc. and see if they have something similar. If you're buying the switches online from RS Components or something, you can check the dimensions with the unsoldered switches from the Guitar Hero controller.

Replace BOTH switches, otherwise things can get uneven with the strummer.

  • how do u solder?

  • soldering iron and some solder

  • where u get it

  • hello where do i get the soldering iron?

  • from any electronics store.. soldering takes some skill you should watch a video on how to solder and practice on something else first! =D

  • what're the screwdrivers?

  • i forgotten what there called but they look like a start with 6 sides

  • good work man i have too this problem with my ps2 guitar :(

i saw you can only do master of puppets on hard me too :D

  • haha yeah, i can play it easy on real guitar!!! its pretty hard on expert eyy

  • i have the same batteries dude xD

btw, you are awesome, what kind of switch i need to do this?

  • well im from australia i just went to a electronics store.. its called jaycar over in australia or even a dick smith. i went in there and looked for the micro swithes i think they where about $2-$3 each and all i ad to do was cut the ends down and solder them back in.. if you know of an electronics store take the switches down there and ask them for some and tell them what it is for and what you are doing they will help you!... and hope this helps you please rate video =D

  • thnks dude ;D
