Yesssss!!! Love midnight club LA . I also pluged in my DFGT wheel an it worked :) I never was much into racing ppl online , It's fun just to drive around , burning rubber . I like how the cops pull you over , you can't stop ( get ticket ) or run away from the cops :)

Absolutely! I have a reasonable PC spec, and rFactor, LFS and RACE 07 run great on my system, while iRacing runs and looks like a bag of shite. Add to that the EXTORTIONATE prices that iRacing charge, I don't understand why anybody bothers with it! The physics are certainly no better than rFactor or LFS, and the sheer number of tracks available FOR FREE for the latter two, make iRacing a pointless waste of money!

iRacing is a complete rip-off when compared to rFactor and GTR2 or Race 07. Multiplayer racing on anything other than a LAN is just pointless.

@HeavyMechanics I'm guessing you got an Apple IIe with a 900 baud modem? I agree, with that rig it's almost impossible to get consistent gameplay online. But for those of us who moved on into the 21st century there's quite a lot of goodness going on. If you believe the LAN latency of 1-3ish ms is that much better than racing on a server with about 30-40ms latency you're just dumb.

Warping and stuff on the other hand IS bad, but that's down to you if you have a lot going on. Change you ISP.

Playing racing games online, you are actually dependent on not just your own connection speed, but those of all the others in the race as well. Perhaps a basic course in IT would help you understand this better. There's really no way to get around rubber banding and latency issues when racing online, unless you're racing with friends that all also have high speed internet and core2's or i7's. Anyway, it's a bit pointless to discuss with someone who has such an immature attitude. Good day.

Many complained about the logitech momo aswell , most people got troubles with potmeters.But i have used mine for years and it's still working properly..besides of 8% deadzone on the brakepedal

After that i've bought the g25 offcourse, and i must say , it's defenitely worth the money !

As soon as rfactor 2 is out i'll probably go for the g27 :)

MS Wheel mini-review Pros: -rumble along with FFB -can be played on lap -wireless Cons: -bad clamp design -most wheels aren't centered properly -large deadzone -270 degree movement only -wheel not connected to base very well, shakes It's pretty cheap now ($50 some places)...so some think it's priced for what it's worth. I paid a lot for mine ($100) so I'm not too happy with it. It made games more frustrating to play for me, rather than making it more enjoyable.

thanks man. that helped a lot. their always seem to be handling problems when i play with steering wheels. my driving is thrown off a bit and it feels like ythe wheel makes the car have less handling than it actually does. i tend to play better with controllers. this is why im looking for the best wheel. maybe i will give the microsoft wheel a try since its only 50 bucks. thanks again.

I loved rfactor with the mods and i'm sure rfactor 2 will do it again.

What i like most , is we will get a total different game with rfactor 2 and not just an updated version of the previous one. It a total new revision of the package , not like other games, which just didn't bring really new stuff to the game.

Physicswise..well you could say iracing or lfs ..but i'm sure rfactor2 won't stay behind and we'll have great fun with this one!

Hey Shaun, if you like online games with a massive map and you set races up there and then on the streets, as you say so, why not do a review on Test Drive Unlimited? Avaiable on PC but unfortunately not any of the next-gen consoles. Availabe for a few dollars down your local game store. I love the ability to raise/lower the windows inside the car and hear the engine note change. Great game. Also another brilliant show.

I think rubber band effect is realistic. When real race drivers get in the lead. They let off until someone is challenging them. In longer races. All the drivers pace themselves; saving their tires and engines and resting themselves; for the last few laps. Why should AI drive full throttle the whole race? That would be very unrealistic, wouldn't it?

What about: Number one car being chased by the second place car just a few seconds behind (let's say 3-5 seconds).

as they are. Just all running wide open all the time. Never happens, except in sprint races.

cool i'll have to check out midnight club because i like games that work well with my logitech wheel on ps3. one game i got to recommend for ps3 even though it has no wheel support is the new motorstorm: pacif rift. the game is just plain fun, it has split screen so you just need one ps3 to play multiplayer and it the best graphics i've seen on the system.
