Dude you are really good teacher. I've been playing this song for over 25 years and you've broke this down so well that the novice player can catch it.
Hi again i wrote earlier about the internet not having been invented when i first started playing and volumn on the boogie oogie click track i,ve also been learning this one i didn,t realize this was also you great lesson maybe one other pointer that could be helpful to everyone is to start with a tune up just a quick pluck of each string for a reference point as sometimes our bass could be a semi tone out thus making it even harder to work out which fret is being played just a thought steve
The internet hadn,t even been heard of nevermind youtube when i first started playing bass more than30yrs ago ,i had to buy sheet music to learn a song now thanks to people like you taking the time to record a video on youtube its opened the door to a whole new world of music styles for me i,ve almost got this song licked keep it up steve

@neopandorex .. i mean... you jump a tone up doint index-pinky instead of index-ring... im a guitar player and im contemplating the idea of getting into bass.. im just trying to know if this is unorthodox at some point?? cuz i have mediumlarge hands
@neopandorex neopandorex Hi. On guitar, it's much easier to use a one-finger-per-fret system because of the shorter scale. There is no right or wrong way to do it, I use the upright bass system utilizing the pinky more than the ring finger especially when playing octaves and playing in the lower position. The original bassist who did this song uses this fingering as well, check out his vid. It's just a matter of preference and which feels more comfortable. Good luck and have fun with the bass.
yeah this is sweet... i just picked up a guitar last week after wanting one for years... i have a decent ear but dont read music... so this amount of detail is great... thanks bro keep it up
it was really great..i enjoy playing it with your help..if i may request..can you play in slow tempo the song you are the universe..thanks in advanced.
Hmm,I'll have to re-learn that one first, hehe. I'm VERY forgetful. I won't be able to do it like I did it then 'coz I don't ahve a 5 string anymore but I'll give it a try, maybe de-tune my bass?
That was brilliantly done. Always wanted to learn this tune, but always fell short on it. Didn't give it the time it needed, I guess. Your lesson was spot on, my friend. Cheers.
Thanks for this video! You're a great teacher!
