@Hectotane I'm sure they got the idea from the movie trilogy from the protoform "clones", and could you please specify the part where you say BEFORE, because that could mean Animated, Beast Wars/Machines, just asking.
I was mainly talking about the time during the G1 era; Starscream, Skywarp, T-crack, Thrust, Dirge, & Ramjet. Also Sunstorm, Acidstorm, and (Yes,) Animated's Slipstream.
I'm not too fond of "personality-less Storm Troopers."
@WaffleAfterHours The Teletraan I Transformers wiki says they are most likely called either but, (This is a fan thought) I think that the car drones are the Vehicons, for Vehicle Decepticons, and the jets to be the Eradicons. I don't know personally.
