  • This is beautiful... absolutely gorgeous... Magical.

  • Hearing and watching him live changes your life. <3

  • really good but does anyone else notice his dipthongs...kinda annoying

  • Love him. He looks a lot like Edward Norton.

  • @ShutterBug134 Never going to look at either of them the same way again now hahah.

  • My personal favourite version of this song. An amazing Vajean

  • JOJ's voice is proof that magic exists.

  • I saw him perform this in Edinburgh in May 2010. It was phenomenal. So chilling and beautiful. I think the entire audience was in floods by the end of it! But JOJ is amazing at the more upbeat songs too....what a star!

  • When I first hear him, I thought he was the weakest/least impressive JvJ. These days I think he's the best. There's just something about his voice that never seems in full falsetto like the other performers do with the song. I'd say JOJ has a slightly deeper voice than the others (Colm Wilkinson, Alfie Boe and the other one) and that is the difference that makes this nicer than the others.

  • Definitely the best JvJ I've heard. Listening in the car he always gives me goosebumps! Going in a couple of weeks to see Ramin Karimloo play JvJ. Expecting good things from him!

  • Colm is a god but John Owen Jones is a fox. This is amazing!!!!

  • And here I thought Alfie Boe was the *BEST* Valjean. I stand corrected, it appears.

  • Hey just wondering in how many Les Miserables concerts did John Owen Jones perform as Jean Valjean? Thanks!

  • Just went on wikipedia, apparently JOJ is FORTY years old! I thought he was about 25!

  • just beautiful

  • 22 dislikes ,What the hell? Did your click it by mistake or are you just ignorant?

  • @liamblackere saw him in manchester he is the best val jean. better thatn colm wilkinson

  • Saw him in Phantom this week. He was amazing, by far the best Phantom I've heard. Fantastic singer and performer

  • JOJ is breathtaking.

  • wow

  • I really hate to say so, but he looks like Chuck Norris

  • @nellAynoT rubbish who the hell is chuck norris anyway !!!

  • Amazing.

  • 22 Dislikes, are you mad...!

This is an absolute mater class, no one sings the song as well as he does. Seen him in Les Mis, awasome...!

  • OMG what I wouldn't do for voice lessons from him :O I bet it would cost a pretty penny, but good God almighty I bet it'd be worth it!

  • he's amazing...

  • not as good as colm wilkinson

  • @jingleman1984 Let it stand on its own

  • Beautiful. Best Valjean since Colm :)

  • Jesus, my lungs would be burning! Do you see his breath??? lol It must be freezing there

  • @Wigevil I was at that concert in the audience and it was freezing but he was amazing. I would love him to perform at Faenol again in future

  • Have You heard Giacomo Pinino of Western Australia sing this song (Bring Him Home on youtube )he is amazing. He sand in local amateur production food for thought

  • I'm going to learn to sing like this someday.

    ...someday....

  • 17 people were blinded by their tears and accidentally clicked "dislike"

  • Think I 've actually seen him or Simon Bowman.

Went to London with my English class in high scool (from Denmark) and we saw les mis.It was either in 1999 or 2000 so it has to one of the two...unless of course it was the understudy.

  • I agree, Alfie is brilliant but he just doesn't beat John as JVJ. Have seen him 4 times, he's amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • guess who's downloading the soundtrack?

    <------------ this chick. absolutely amazing!

  • Is it me or can you not get bored of this, ive listened to it for the last 2 days non stop!!! Some one help

  • I"m a huge Alfie fan AND this is just gorgeous. BOTH amazing. BOTH brilliant, for many different and same reasons. How about not comparing anymore, but just absolutely loving that we are fortunate to have these amazing artists in our lives?

  • Jean will always be Colm as far as recall is concerned, but I prefer John's voice over Colm's.

  • 17 people aren't being brought home...

  • I think he is A LOT better than Alfie actually! Alfie sounds very majestetic and has an awesome voice, but there is something about John Owen-Jones that is magical. He is the only person that has made me cry by simply listening to him sing :)

  • @TheVildee Perfectly said!

  • He came to my school and sang this to the cast members like a month ago. He went to college with my chorus teacher and he heard we were doing les mis, so he came and sang like every song, and helped us out with songs!. When he sang this half the girls were balling there eyes out and the rest of the room was in aw. He sounds amazing in person and its like he puts a spell over the room! :) im so glad i got to see him in person!

  • This is a beautiful version of the song, exquisite performance. And if it was the only one I'd heard I'd be tempted to say "the best."

But Alfie does blow him out of the park. Sorry, guys.

  • @hecate235 how on earth you can say 'Alfie does blow him out of the park' .. absolutely ridiculous!! Alfie Boe, yes he has a good operatic voice, but you can't even compare him to JOJ when it comes to Bring Him Home!!!

  • 17 people are deaf. John is fantastic.

  • Fantastic performance of this classic for tenor's. I look forward to seeing Les Mez this summer in London.

  • 17 people couldnt hear the sound xD

  • By the way if you guys are interested, i was gavroche in this with John Owen Jones 5 years ago. He is possibly the most inspirational man i've met. To sing alongside him is none less than an honour.

  • @JGGreyhound lie

  • @JGGreyhound the best jean val jean ever

  • @JGGreyhound U know you are really blessed. First, is because you acted alongside John Owen Jones and second is because you can add Les miserables in your resume! Really envious..............

  • still the best version

  • OMG!!!! THIS IS AMAZING!

  • I love John's interpretation of this song the best - while Colm and Alfie are of course amazing, I just love the sheer amount of emotion John puts into it. Exquisite, and I think just right.

  • His voice sounds so perfect with the violins. Seriously, how can anyone sing better? To me he is the best singer in the world. I love him <3

  • 16 people are fucking dicks

  • i saw him yesterday as the Phantom of the Opera. He is realy amazing!

  • I am I the only one wondering why this song has an "unlike" button?

  • @JGGreyhound: No, you are not. I can't imagine what was going through the minds of those who clicked it.

  • @JGGreyhound More importantly why would someone press that incorrectly placed dislike button!?

  • @JGGreyhound

because all video should have them? why ask an obvious question

  • It's called a hyperbolic. I was over-exaggerating just to see who else thinks that this should't be allowed to be 'disliked'.

  • @JGGreyhound what's more perplexing than that is why there are 17 dislikes....

  • @JGGreyhound What is this unlike button you speak of? i have not heard of such a thing on John Owen Jones videos

  • I got the chance to see him in Les Mis before it closed... OMG. You think this is amazing. Live, he is breath taking. Everytime he opened his mouth, even just breath, I started sobbing.

  • I've created a Facebook Page if you wish to join.. It's for JOJ to play Jean Valjean in the new Les Miserables film. look for the link on my channel

  • I've created a Facebook Page if you wish to join.. It's for JOJ to play Jean Valjean in the new Les Miserables film.. look at my channel

  • CRIKEY!!! That's incredible. Not as good as Boe, but so nearly there!

  • He is a beautiful singer.

  • wow, so beautiful!!

I just saw him this weekend as he performed the role of the Phantom in London. Je has such an amazing voice in which he lays so much emotion...

  • this is the most beautiful thing i have ever heard :')

  • I saw him live in the 25th anniversary tour. He was so amazing, i was blown away completely! And I sat in 2nd row... he was right in front of me, singing at me OMG...

  • Brilliant.... He does this song so much justice... by far the bes JVJ and phantom ever... How the hell has this video got 14 "unlikes"????

  • So inspiring. I absolutely love this song and am auditioning for this part in les miserables this Summer and he sets such a good example

  • Absolutely brilliant!!!!

  • He looks so different when he's the Phantom. Epic voice!!! <3

  • That voice is just... incredible.

  • The Best Version, ever! love it!

  • any thumbs down MUST have been an accident...brilliant!

  • hello, thankyou for putting this online...wow... no words to describe..

is this from a television broadcast or a DVD?

If its a DVD can u tell us the title? Love to hve a copy!

    Cheers from Australia

  • Does anyone know if he's still playing jean valjean in london? I saw the show 3 days ago but i don't know if it was him

  • @brittbouwman no he finished the 25 anniversary tour in october. he's playing the phantom now in london..

  • he gave me goosebumps... wow...

  • wow, Wuch an amazing Voice!!!!

  • my uncle :)

  • @rhysb9 You are so lucky. If I was you I would phone him up every hour and demand he sing for me. Like a personal John-Owen-Jones-juke-box-thingy.

  • I surrender... his voice is just perfect. *speechless* o.O

  • Fantanstische Version dieses beten Songs von Les Miserables

  • i wish i was able to sing with his emotion. I can barely sing it alone. I love this song and i have respect for this man.

  • I love the voice and presence of Colm Wilkinson, but I saw John Owen Jones in the London production of Les Mis and he is without equal. Phenomenal.

  • Damn! It must have been cold! I can see his breath XD

  • saw JOJ as Valjean in Les Mis...best performance ever!!! lucky enough to have front row seats :-)

  • @Muffinman25190: yup, that's definitely Michael Ball!

  • John Owen-Jones is such a fantastic singer! and the perfect Jean Valjean! or I have not seen him in the role, but I have the tour cast recording and his voice is perfect for Valjean! I love his version of Bring Him Home!

  • a guy of this quality - you canunderstand why he is 'The Phantom'. This man is class x

  • is that michael ball for a split second right at the beginning?!

  • @Muffinman25190 I was wondering that too! But I'm pretty sure it is. They sang One Day More together at another point during the same concert, so it would make sense if it was. :)

  • i want to have his voice.. wtf.

  • JOJ. Come to Australia already. Like, now.

  • can i like borrow his voice for, say, 30 seconds...please?

  • He is better than CW technically however JOJ will never match the emotion and passion the Colm brings with each performance!

  • His impecable performance gives me goosebumps and he even made me cry when I listened to him live. He's fantastic!

  • John Owens-Jones is going to kill me because every time I listen to this song I almost forget to breathe. He takes an already beautiful song and refines it to such a purity that it is simply stunning.

  • Lovely voice I rushed out to buy his cd after hearing this-wish there was another cd I could buy.

  • Lovely voice I rushed out to buy his cd after hearing this-wish there was another cd I could buy.Ardderchog!!

  • I've been taking lessons for about 5 years now and getting so much improvement in my own voice. JOJ is such an inspiration and this piece of all my repertoire is the pinnacle. I don't think I'll ever get there as he has - but I continue to strive! Thanks for sharing. This is the gold standard for this song. Light - airy - powerful- natural - classic technique and I can feel the emotion every time.

  • Beautiful singing!

  • Bloody hell. Respect.

  • The best John Valjean... JOJ has an incredible voice and in the context of Les Mis, sings this song with such emotion!

  • Amazing voice in a powerfull song = PERFECTION

but i still prefer the version sing bi Colm Wilkinson

  • 1 of the most incredible thing about joj may be his voice, but theres also 1 more thing...i watched 2 show on the 25th tour, once in paris, once in london, and when i listened to his old videos i was shocked that they were almost exactly the same-amazing consistancy

  • I saw him in the role of Valjean on Broadway. Judy Kuhn was playing Fantine at the time. It was the best theatrical and musical experience of my life.

  • stunning simply stunning

ive seen him twice in the les tour and my god he had me weeping both times during this song

he has such a pure beautiful voice

    x

  • wow, that's all i can say...wow!

  • this is amazing as always, i saw him live when he toured with les mis for the 25th anniversary, for anyone who felt emotional during this MUST see him live, i was in absolute floods of tears by it, so so so amazing i am his number one fan! i love hiM!

  • Il me donne la chair de poule à chaque fois x) Quelle voix incroyable....!!!

  • Best part of the tour, and brought me to tears here yet again.

  • Great Voice has passion WHEN IS HE IN iRELAND

  • OMG! What A Voice . Fantastic

  • We also saw this guy at the Lyric Theatre Salford Quays, fantastic voice, brilliant show

  • Saw him in southampton on thursday - probably the best live singer I have ever heard!

  • I heard and saw him for the first time at the Faenol Festival. It was a very impressive and memorable performance. You could have heard a pin drop while he was singing and the applause was deafening. For me, one of the highlights of the Festival.

  • A god. truly.

  • Just seen JOJ in Southampton, Les Mis absolutely fantastic.

  • He was utterly fantastic, saw him in Southampton on the 25th (Les Mis of course) - Spine tinglingly phenomenal.

  • Great performance!

  • I LOVE John Owen Jones! I have seen him twice, first at Queens Theatre July 2005 and i was lucky enough then to have a ticket that included a drink with some of the cast members afterwards so i actually met him and got him to sign my programme. I recently saw him in the touring version in Southampton, 28th Aug 2010 and i am so glad he played Valjean both times!

He has the sexiest voice ever and he made me cry!

  • @emmastimmo Saw him at the same on the 30th.. was absolutely awesome.

  • Just seen John Owen-Jones playing Jean Valjean in Manchester today he was simply amazing, his voice was electrifying,he was awesome(Les Mis was absolutely brilliant)

  • I never really used to appreciate this song. Then I saw Les Mis in London in 2006, heard John sing it, and--well, my mind was pretty much blown. Beautiful voice and a spectacular (albeit incredibly young) Valjean!

  • ooooh , um

    o.0

    sorry

    i commented the wrong video . . .

  • OMG I Love this man, he is pure s*x

  • Beautiful version! Also look at Stig Rossens version of Bring Him Home, stunning!

  • only 10 people have a brain

  • @teamedward19963d

    Pointless comment

  • @teamedward19963d Are you saying he can't sing, or do you just not like pretty music?

  • awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've seen him live, he's just AMAZING!:') No one plays Jean Valjean better than he does in my opinion.

  • I prefer Colm Wilkinson, but this is a very fine, smooth performance and JOJ has a lovely voice.

He seems a little too clean-cut for a Valjean, though.

  • What a beutiful man, he makes me cry :P

  • fantastic

  • like most musical singers of today,Barrowman,Ball and co. they have not got very good vibrato control or power, and of course you almost always have to be a mincer to get a lead role in the West End.

  • @byronmills I know John, I would pay good money to hear you call him a 'mincer' to his face, like hospital food, do you?!

  • He should have gotten a standing ovation.

  • I saw him at the 25th anniversary of Les Mis in Paris' Theatre du Chatelet on June 20, 2010 and was truly in awe! Wonderful!

  • I got tix to 25th anniversary in Columbus, Oh!!

    WOOOO

  • Crisp delivery, simply awesome. I do prefer Colm's version, but JOJ is also fantastic.

  • A few years back I saw the Phantom of the Opera, and the Phantom was absolutely incredible, but I never found out who the performer was. Now I know... Saw the Mis yesterday in Paris (without even knowing beforehand that JOJ was Valjean)... amazing, I recognized his voice right away. I can't believe how lucky I am to have been able to see him twice without even meaning to XD

  • John Owen Jones has been bringing audiences to tears in Paris, at the Châtelet Theatre for a month now. He's singing in Les Misérables until July 4th. I saw it, and I'm going back tonight and Sunday.

A fantastic show, JOJ being the highlight. A wonderful discovery for me.

  • @wondermig same here: saw him in London some years ago as Valjean, and I have never seen anything like it anywhere else.

  • Very good, but I still prefer Gary Morris' version from his live album...

  • I would do anyhting just to be half as good as him :') <3

  • very confident pitch-perfect head tones doing this punishing piece from 'les miserables'. magnificent!

  • Just saw him in Paris, and hearing him sing this song is just... impossible to describe, no recording can do justice to the mine bogling experience this was live (I think you can hear it in the chearing of the audience tough!!)

  • Remarquable en Jean Valjean!!

Je l'ai vu à Paris. Quelle émotion!!! Quelle voix incroyable!

  • hes my favorite at this song. hands down.

  • I would very like to meet him :) incredible voice!!!! respect !!!!!!

  • @banduracka i have met him :P had an autograph and a picture

  • He is sensational as Jean Valjean...I saw him in birmingham and he brought tears to my eyes.

  • Must have increased the viewing figures over the last 3 weeks...... beautiful voice, beautiful setting & John is very easy on they eye!! ;)

  • beautiful

  • was John Sing this live at Friday Night Is Music Night for BBC Radio 2 & loved it; this is my favourite song from Les Miserable

  • Ive just played the part of Valjean in york id a loved every second of it!! It is such and amazing part to play!! I hope one day i could play it on the west end oh that would be an ultaimte dream! If you can would u mind watching me singing bring him home at my first rehearsal of this song comment and rate!! Colm is an extremley hard act to follow and this rehearsal clip is by far no my best performance of but its the only one i have, Christian x TYPE IN: Christian Lunn Bring Him Home

  • i agree that colm wilkensons voice seems more like what the character of jean valjean would have, but upon seeing owen-jones recently in the role, i think his incredible acting and unbelievable voice amounts to a perfect portrayal of valjean. he is perfect!

  • I saw him recently too, I had tears in my eyes simply from how amazing his voice is in this song. I've never heard anyone with a better voice in my life!

  • this is a fantastic song

  • I recently saw him live at the Edinburgh Playhouse and i fell in love with this guy's voice, he has such a talent. I'd probably go as far to say i have NEVER seen any musical thatre performer with as much talent as this man. It's my hope to be as cool as him when i grow up xD

  • He is so great!!!!

  • saw him last night in edinburgh...he is beyond amazing

  • @Trianeftwtf I saw him in Edinburgh last night and was completely blown away.

  • Best Bring Him Home I've ever heard!

  • I saw JOJ on Wednesday night and he is just the best Jean Valjean ever!
