To the people criticizing the consistent percussive slap on the 2nd beat (which is fine, music is subjective) Try to consider it as the constant snare in most 4/4 beats, a background rhythm rather than a showy acoustic trick
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
very nice guitar playing! i have only one notice: better to do not clap the bass strings with your tumb if you can't make different variations of the sound, because this way sounds like metronome which is not quite good
@TurnItUp16 every advice is good , what he probably means (tanneguitar ) is he could probalably use more bass in boom chick style (T.E. alike) and slap the bass notes less often ,,,the crisp sound/harmonics of slapping are interfering with his melody which could be more smooth into my ears for the least.
@MichelArd I respectively disagree. If he likes to do that is his songs I wouldn't criticize, I'm just simply saying I wouldn't change a thing about this song and he may not understand why Craig plays it this way. Just don't tell one of my favourite musicians to change things because you don't understand why he uses slapping techniques in that way haha. That's all.
@TurnItUp16 the fact is ,,every one has a playing style ...Craig's style is very enjoyable ..
absolutely true that this song is excellent ,,,
but i do get the feeling that the slap every 2 beats tends to get tiring after listening to a few songs ,(maybe cause i use the slap every 2 beats myself :P) , not necessarily Craig 's , but from fingerstyle players overall
this is my opinion ,,and is based on my personal musical taste ...
@TurnItUp16 No problem dude, I read that comment and I realised he had no idea what he was talking about. And theres nothing worse than someone trying to critique a professional musician when they have no clue about the instrument they are playing.
@z0mgzt0m Well he knew what was going on to make the sound, so he can't be that bad. Whats wrong with occasionally saying that you prefer something done a different way? He said it without insulting, and all he was saying was his opinion. sure maybe he didnt know wat he was talking about but does that automatically make it so that he can't share any suggestions about this music like the rest of us because hes not knowledgeable of how it's played?
@tannenguitar really ? you sound like a beginner who found out the meaning of metronome and is using it like as though u know where it fits. and explain to me clearly what you mean by variations.. no seriously u said Variations of the sound ?? Give me a good explanation or shove a pick up ur ass
@mrsister127. Chords are based on triads, so intervals of 3. A-C-E, etc. I mean, conceivably you could play a D and D# in the same chord, but its going to sound muddled and confused. The only way you could pull it off is playing the D# an octave higher where the D# would become a b9 or sharp 8.
@xChamomileTx Guys, Guys! The rule is you cannot have two notes of the same pitch (note name in our case) in the same chord. Why? Because a D, or any form of a D whether it be raised or lowered can only exist once. If you wanted a D and a 'D#' in the same chord just make it an Eb instead...It's not so much the pitch but the way we say or spell the chord. D to Eb is a minor second...the smallest interval, not a raised 1st....that term doesn't exist either. no sharp 8's either.
@xChamomileTx I saw you mentioned sharp 8 twice. I thought there was only 7 notes in a given scale. The only time I have heard of 8 notes is when like a chromatic is added to make a bebop scale for rhythmic purposes. I thought 2,4,6 were 9,11,13 like 9 is a 2 but an octave up. Whats a sharp 8 or an 8 in general in a scale?
@enemysnemesis I want to to go to a piano and play Eb. Then I want you to play D#. They are the same note. I really hope you're joking and not actually this stupid.
@TheFunkyCriminal That is true, but to accuse someone of being wrong without really understanding the subject at hand is behavior which seems to be all too common, thus my annoyance. I'll be less pissed next time.
@SafetyMan911 It must be an Eb because of the fact that there is already a 'D' in the chord. You cannot have a D and a D# or a Db in the same chord. Simple intervals here.
@craigd19 That pretty much settles it. By the way, what's your experience with string breaks? I've been playing Don Ross's stuff for a while, and I somewhat cringe when I see the many tunings where you go sharper than standard tuning as Elixers seem to become brittle after a while. Do you just man it out, I suppose?
@SafetyMan911 To be honest I haven't broken a string in a loooong loong time. Only get breaks if strings are on for a few days. A new set should not break for two or three days depending on how many times you change tunings. Currently I am using Black Diamond strings. They hold up fine.
@MrSister127 No. What I'm saying is that both of those note NAMES cannot exist in the same chord. So in this tuning it is an Eb and not a D#. Technically, Eb and D# are the same pitch assuming we don't have a key we are sticking to. Get it?

I picked up the note, I can share them with others? OR I do not have rights to it?
Belarusdds 7 months ago
@Belarusdds technically, you dont. You shouldn't go posting it on websites though...I shared one or two tabs with a friend who wants to learn the song, but i still recommend that they go buy it. It's so cheap considering the fact you're getting an amazing piece of music.

This masterpiece is nothing less than lovely. I just love it. Sounds to me like the guitar is singing. So full and rich.

Why is it that candyrat musicians always seem to play songs that you find very familliar, as if you've heard them before, except that you haven't. As if you've always known it even though you're hearing it for the first time ^_^
