  • smart ppl on this vid, so KONY 2012

  • grace notes at :51 = : ), love this song!

  • This guy can really get down! I'm impressed. Atta-boy, Craig!

  • definitely thinking outside the box 8 ) love it

  • Beats on 3, like most Craig D'Andrea songs

  • To the people criticizing the consistent percussive slap on the 2nd beat (which is fine, music is subjective) Try to consider it as the constant snare in most 4/4 beats, a background rhythm rather than a showy acoustic trick

  • @TheZiggyMarlon It's on 3rd beat not 2nd bruv

  • Love that note on the fret!

  • great song!!! very inspiring

  • and now the search for 'tannenguitar's comment ¬¬

  • i dont like crazy music, i like good music, i like Craig D'andrea

  • He's looks like 'Peter Bishop'...

  • this guy has the most strangest song titles and the most beautiful melodies on youtube.

  • could anyone tell me what tuning this is in?

  • @sofabed19 D#-G-D-F-A#-F

  • Gimme back the key to my heart,...... !

    ~~awesome~

  • LoL as Craig takes us all to Music 101 xP love all your songs sir.

  • Beautiful guitar! Such a natural flow.

  • Just bought the tabs. Great song. Really hard though. Maybe post a video when I figure it out, next year or something!

  • @tannenguitar Are you trying to give Craig D'Andrea advice? .........oh man who is this dude lol

  • @TurnItUp16 i bet he's asian...

  • @rekcutA What? What relevance does that have? I'm asian.

  • @TurnItUp16 every advice is good , what he probably means (tanneguitar ) is he could probalably use more bass in boom chick style (T.E. alike) and slap the bass notes less often ,,,the crisp sound/harmonics of slapping are interfering with his melody which could be more smooth into my ears for the least.

..Damn i talk too much ..:P GREAT JOB Craig

  • @MichelArd I respectively disagree. If he likes to do that is his songs I wouldn't criticize, I'm just simply saying I wouldn't change a thing about this song and he may not understand why Craig plays it this way. Just don't tell one of my favourite musicians to change things because you don't understand why he uses slapping techniques in that way haha. That's all.

  • @TurnItUp16 the fact is ,,every one has a playing style ...Craig's style is very enjoyable ..

absolutely true that this song is excellent ,,,

but i do get the feeling that the slap every 2 beats tends to get tiring after listening to a few songs ,(maybe cause i use the slap every 2 beats myself :P) , not necessarily Craig 's , but from fingerstyle players overall

this is my opinion ,,and is based on my personal musical taste ...

  • @tannenguitar He uses the slapping technique for accenting and adding a more percussive sound.

  • @z0mgzt0m Thank you lol.

  • @TurnItUp16 No problem dude, I read that comment and I realised he had no idea what he was talking about. And theres nothing worse than someone trying to critique a professional musician when they have no clue about the instrument they are playing.

  • @z0mgzt0m Haha yeah same. Except I didn't even try to explain, I just kind of shook my head haha. Anyways. Good song, good song.

  • @z0mgzt0m Well he knew what was going on to make the sound, so he can't be that bad. Whats wrong with occasionally saying that you prefer something done a different way? He said it without insulting, and all he was saying was his opinion. sure maybe he didnt know wat he was talking about but does that automatically make it so that he can't share any suggestions about this music like the rest of us because hes not knowledgeable of how it's played?

  • @tannenguitar erase that comment stupid!!!

  • @tannenguitar really ? you sound like a beginner who found out the meaning of metronome and is using it like as though u know where it fits. and explain to me clearly what you mean by variations.. no seriously u said Variations of the sound ?? Give me a good explanation or shove a pick up ur ass

  • @tannenguitar ive only got 1 notice.... you dont play enough guitar :p

  • @tannenguitar Metronome has a quite good basic percussive sound. What's wrong with that? Because people use it to practice? So what?

  • Had to favorite one of your videos

  • i wish i had the money for tabs haha

  • I can play this song ... and my girlfriend like it XDDDDDD

  • @mrsister127. Chords are based on triads, so intervals of 3. A-C-E, etc. I mean, conceivably you could play a D and D# in the same chord, but its going to sound muddled and confused. The only way you could pull it off is playing the D# an octave higher where the D# would become a b9 or sharp 8.

  • @xChamomileTx Guys, Guys! The rule is you cannot have two notes of the same pitch (note name in our case) in the same chord. Why? Because a D, or any form of a D whether it be raised or lowered can only exist once. If you wanted a D and a 'D#' in the same chord just make it an Eb instead...It's not so much the pitch but the way we say or spell the chord. D to Eb is a minor second...the smallest interval, not a raised 1st....that term doesn't exist either. no sharp 8's either.

  • @xChamomileTx I saw you mentioned sharp 8 twice. I thought there was only 7 notes in a given scale. The only time I have heard of 8 notes is when like a chromatic is added to make a bebop scale for rhythmic purposes. I thought 2,4,6 were 9,11,13 like 9 is a 2 but an octave up. Whats a sharp 8 or an 8 in general in a scale?

  • Did a cover of this song a few months ago, still playin it every week :) Awesome song!

  • The dislike bar doesn't even have a red pixel in it if you zoom in an check :) (ctrl+scroll)

  • I don't see where one can get "falling for twelve year olds" out of this song title. C'mon now, that's just immaturity; plain and simple.

  • is this regular tuning?

  • @sumblock It almost never is with many fingerstyle guitar songs. Tuning is Eb G D F Bb F. Source: craigdandrea(dot)com/faq.php

  • @SafetyMan911 thanks for letting me know

    cheers

  • @SafetyMan911 That's wrong though. I have the tab its D#GDFA#F.

  • @enemysnemesis

Those are both the same tuning

  • @enemysnemesis I want to to go to a piano and play Eb. Then I want you to play D#. They are the same note. I really hope you're joking and not actually this stupid.

  • @SafetyMan911 not everyones all that familiar with enharmonics..

  • @TheFunkyCriminal That is true, but to accuse someone of being wrong without really understanding the subject at hand is behavior which seems to be all too common, thus my annoyance. I'll be less pissed next time.

  • @SafetyMan911 oh man, i understand you so much :D

  • @SafetyMan911 oh i didnt see the whole thing my bad haha

  • @SafetyMan911 I don't have a piano is there another way to verify this?

  • @SafetyMan911 It must be an Eb because of the fact that there is already a 'D' in the chord. You cannot have a D and a D# or a Db in the same chord. Simple intervals here.

  • @craigd19 That pretty much settles it. By the way, what's your experience with string breaks? I've been playing Don Ross's stuff for a while, and I somewhat cringe when I see the many tunings where you go sharper than standard tuning as Elixers seem to become brittle after a while. Do you just man it out, I suppose?

  • @SafetyMan911 To be honest I haven't broken a string in a loooong loong time. Only get breaks if strings are on for a few days. A new set should not break for two or three days depending on how many times you change tunings. Currently I am using Black Diamond strings. They hold up fine.

  • @craigd19 My problem would be using the same strings for a month, then. Oh well, mo money less broken strings!

  • @craigd19 are you saying that a D# and an Eb are not the same note?

  • @MrSister127 No. What I'm saying is that both of those note NAMES cannot exist in the same chord. So in this tuning it is an Eb and not a D#. Technically, Eb and D# are the same pitch assuming we don't have a key we are sticking to. Get it?

  • @craigd19 what rule says that you can't have a D and a D# in the same chord?

  • @MrSister127 from what I understand (esp if you look at classical work) having and d and then d# indicates that the key center maybe G min esp with the f,d,d# and a#/Bb as its ascending. But you are right there are chords w half steps in em. Jazz type stuff, altered dominant chords and diminished stuff.

  • My favourite song off the album, along with Shut the Window!

  • Hope the title isnt short for falling for twelve year olds.

  • @3245james ahahahah nah its not in one of his videos of craig playing live he tells you what its about :)

  • @3245james lmao

  • Thats how you make love to a guitar.

  • The camera guys are making me dizzy but the song is amazing. Craig D Andrea is such an awesome musician.

  • Who ever disliked this, thought, that the guy craig would be naked while playing his instrument...

  • Not to take away from the AWESOME music. But what kind of mic is that where it has such good quality?

  • @silence6210 A pair of pencil condenser microphones and a direct line from the guitars internal pickup/pickups/microphone blend.

  • @TomDodsonMusic Thanks

  • @silence6210 welcome :)

  • Rpoland never cease to amaze me..i mean they're extremely skilled guitarist..who needs an orchestral band when u have only one awesome guitarist that can fill all parts of the band! :DDD

  • Amazing job...

You truly have a talent for others to envy. Let the music never die.

  • The name sounds like he's falling for a twelve year old.

  • @VotaleX I wondered if someone would have posted this comment. It's what I thought when I read it too :L

  • Amazing jammin craig but i get your secret ewan

    get it :P

watch craig and then ewan dobson with the venecian bird-mask...

the similarity of him and craig is as big as my eyes became THAT big, when i recognised it...

  • This song is so beautiful <3

  • Missed a note at 1:30

  • @yokalyanyo smart ass

  • @yokalyanyo I noticed it too but why be a dick about it? Yours must be a pitiful existence.

  • @AlienAxeSlinger See. I understand you like the song. Even I do. What I don't like is lack of professionalism. Thats about him. As per you, outsmarting is not something you are very good at. You know, one must be an idiot to conclude someone's existence is pitiful from their youtube comment.

  • @yokalyanyo i don´t wanna be rude, but if you are talking about lack of professionalism, then please, feel free to cover this song and upload it to youtube, and demonstrate us you can do it better. If you can´t, then dont whine about lack of professionalism. Iv been playing acoustic for 1 year now and i couldnt even play 1/10th of this song.

My 2 cents. And nice job Craig.

  • This is a total jail bait story isn't it?

  • Okey,, i have To get 8 candoms

  • Could anybody enlighten with the tuning for this song?

  • @kidsbikes The tuning is D#GDFA#F (low to high).

  • Andy McKee is better.

  • @linck135218 Wow, you are a disgrace to the music community. If you rate a music piece by the amount of notes in it, you fail..

  • @Waldord

I dont believe he said anything about the song being hard enough or not have enough notes.

I think your the one that fails here.

  • @KeyOfAm Sure, ok.. I failed. But atleast i don't fail at seeing craig as an good artist and have the need to compare him to someone else.

  • @Waldord

Everyone gets compared, it's what we all do. Just enjoy and ignore what others say, they're missing out.

  • @linck135218 Is this a contest? or is this just a video of some wicked guitar playing like I thought it was?

  • can you see the dislike bar? no.

  • Where does your inspiration come from? Sure sounds like something from Heaven. =D

  • this song is incredible. I recently purchased this album, and in my opinion its the best one Craig's released yet! Every song is amazing

  • Awsome!

  • Where i can find the tabs?

  • @markjobar in the description.

  • @markjobar candyrat.com

  • Ur all dicks reporting my top comment for spam, ur all losers. This video is awesome and i love his music. But u guys are all low lifes and cant respect a good top comment. Ur all jealous trolls piss off u losers come troll me idc. Cmon then u camel shit losers. This guy is awesome but you are all losers

  • @affro05 a good top comment? What's there to respect? You trashing Lady Gaga? Sounds like spam to me.

  • I think this is my fav of all the new Craig Stuff. Sadly, I am not as much of a fan of it as his getting used to Isolation stuff. Seriously though craig, when it comes to your compositions with the the 'dark' feel. You are second to none.

  • Big thumbs up

  • beautiful playing.. the 8 dislikes are foorrrrking morons

  • could walking the scale be that difficult?

  • The best part of waking up is Foldgers in your cup.

  • Whoever disliked this isn't a twelve

  • I'm 4000 of the total views. Just saying.

  • Shadow dude im standing up for talent which people who dislike this have no respect for. any real music fan appreciates any music with effort heart and skill involved.

  • Do you guys reckon i'll be able to learn this song within say a month if i tried? I can roughly play drifting by andy mckee within a week. Check out my cover and tell me if you reckon i'd be able to learn this. If i can i'll buy the tabs. Please. I'd love your opinion. Its just such a beautiful song...

  • @jluvsmetal I think you can learn anything you wanted to, but I wouldn't try to give yourself any goals time-wise, unless you're thinking of performing this (in front of a live audience). I think if you try to meet a schedule it can really mess with how well you develop the piece. Drifting is absolutely nothing like this, especially with regards to technique, so I'm not sure if it would help too much... but good luck on learning this!

  • ha! he needs some lem oil on that fret board. its a tad dry :P

  • love it. those hamer-ons in the pre-chorus lick or whatever that descending lick remind me of some martin sexton shit. good stuff.

  • I picked up the note, I can share them with others? OR I do not have rights to it?

  • @Belarusdds technically, you dont. You shouldn't go posting it on websites though...I shared one or two tabs with a friend who wants to learn the song, but i still recommend that they go buy it. It's so cheap considering the fact you're getting an amazing piece of music.

  • whoever disliked this is a douchebag and i hate them

  • @TheDuncanwilliams that's the most childish thing i've seen all day...

  • @TheDuncanwilliams haha i love how blunt, yet brilliant that was

  • @TheDuncanwilliams Don't hate them, sir. Only pray for their souls.

  • @TheDuncanwilliams sorry...

  • WHEARE I CAN FIND TABS???? PLSSSSS!!!!!

  • @Belarusdds On the candyrat website.

  • 6 persons have thought they were clicking on the download button.

  • @JVDUMI Why even bother posting comments like these anymore

  • 6 REASONS HERE TO USE CONDOMS....

  • This masterpiece is nothing less than lovely. I just love it. Sounds to me like the guitar is singing. So full and rich.

  • what are the mics?

  • They say Music is the voice of God I agree

  • Why is it that candyrat musicians always seem to play songs that you find very familliar, as if you've heard them before, except that you haven't. As if you've always known it even though you're hearing it for the first time ^_^

  • The camera man makes me dizzy.

  • great song but what kinda name is that?

  • @SirBigBrain
