Michael Gothard was so charismatic as Kai and the chemistry between him and Oliver was unbelievable. Michael was such an underrated actor of great ability......he was my hero. Michael you died so young and we can only guess the depths of depressive despair you experinced before so tragically taking your own life. You rest with Angels in your Saxon burial chamber in the sky RIP.

By the videos 3 stories seem to contradict. In one Kai says that he ahs no loyalty to his Saxon kin as they abandoned him as a child. Then another shows Lud adopting him after Lud loses his own wife and children and Kai's father has been killed. Then again in another episode Kai is being held as hostage by the Saxons as part of a treaty. It suggested that Kai's father was still alive and among the Saxons but unknown Episdoes written without true thought for continuety.
Kai was a Saxon kid found by Lud at the site of Lud losing his own wife and children by Saxon marauders. It seemed from the video that Kai's owm father the Saxon attacker had been killed by Lud's dying wife. Lud felt furious and was about to kill Kai too as fury and revenge took him over. But instead he relented and took Kai in as his son and to bring up in replace of his own family and children. Recent 4 disc Arthur of the Britons very good.
Kai was of Saxon blood,but was committed to the Briton cause of resisting the relentless Saxon invasion,and as such was extremely loyal to Arthur. But people know more than me,and it has been suggested that Kai and Arthur were half brothers. That had not occured to me,even though I'm not an intense student of 'Arthur of the Britons'. The two look completely different to each other. Set me straight on that,one way or another,But there's no way that's Arthur of Camelot-Merlin fame;not in my book.
Abosolutely loved this series. Have got it on DVD - worth every penny - I'd forgotten a lot of the episodes since it was so long since I'd seen it. Great vid!

Michael was a great actor and I feel so sad he had to go.
He's brought joy to me when I was in grief and he still does.

You can't. It was on HTV in 1969 but you can get the DVD released by the British television; it's really worth buying.
