@scotnick59 Yes, of course. My understanding is that if you are a new convert they want you to wait some time before entering the religious life. First step would be to contact your local Catholic church. God bless.
I was once in seminary to be a secular priest, I studied at a Benedictine Abbey. I know the life isn't for me, but there are time where I wish I could just go and be a monk. The struggle of life is so much easier when you jut hand things over to God.
I spent many days here...two of my 3 uncles lived there. One was a Abbot.. A better man never was..... I know that is not true...but, I am so proud of him....and I loved him so much... to me he was just my Uncle Jack, the other one was harder to relate to. Both are buried in that cementary. If you are called to be there, you will just know. There is good and bad in every religion. I look at the person, not the religion. As I said, I had 2 uncles here.they were as different as night and day
I tell you my fellow Christians, that all the sins in this world is accountable to the churches, for if they only unite and upheld free giving instead of buying and selling, there could be no robber and thieves among them, nor is there a chance for athiestic view to rise. The Way of God had suffered abusive speech from the enemies of God because the churches are harlot.
I agree man, I was thinking about being a monk but after seeing they are just like the Catholics and modern protestents I've changed my mind. Is there any where that hasnt been touched by satin???
Do not listen to the ddmiller guy. History shows that the Pope himself traditionally faces the people when celebrating Holy Mass and Vatican II is a Council that MUST be adhered to by the faithful.
If you like tradition, you may take a look at the Franciscans of the Immaculate or the Franciscans of the Renewal, or join an oratory.
It's too bad this group has fallen into modernism. I know me saying that makes a lot of peope angry, but for them to be more focused on each other and what the world thinks of them instead of talking about spiritual growth through filial devotion to God is disappointing. It was also disappointing to see a table at the altar and the celebrant facing the other monks. It is just the same old protestant practices that have become prevalant since Vatican II.
It's not a matter of judging their souls. It's their visible actions that are to be judged.
I don't even judge myself whether I'm worthy of Heaven for that is for God to do. It is my desire to follow His Commandments and I really believe the first Commandment is especially important.
The fact is modernism is very deceiving and it makes people angry because they use feelings to dictate their arguments. I'm sure there are well-intentioned monks in this order and there is hope for them.
It's from their vocations video and this is only a small clip of the whole production. I don't think it is accurate to say that this portrays a "world-minded" spirituality.
i was not raised a Catholic. Are we allowed to convert in order to be a monk?

I'm confused, of course they are just like the Catholics -- they *are* Catholics. Do you mean something more specific?
