i heard froma professional who grows the best og in the valley: when you pull out your plants leave root mass (wash it with water good so its clean of dirt if you grew in soil) THEN hang it upside down. i'm guessng this encourages final boost of THC production before death.
@laffizzle Thats actually the worst thing you can do if you want it to be decent to smoke.
You want to cut the plant off at the trunk in the dark, if you don't, or if you leave the root ball on, it will pull whatever nutrients, sugars, and chloraphylls in to the plant. This can make it bitter, not stay lit and generally just smell and taste bad.If you flushed right and did not cut down early you can't get anymore THC production. You should be cutting down as the trichromes begin to degrade.
@infamuzblayze my experience is limited, i wasnt personally there to oversee the process but i had some trees hanging to dry in a shed and some of the buds really shriveled up and turned a dark rusty colour :(

id suggest laying it out in a bathroom floor on some newspaper with the fan on - and try not to use the bathroom! heheh
Question... I noticed you took off the larger fan leaves but kept on the smaller ones while drying. is there a benifits to this or could you just trim them all before hangin em? I tried leaving on the smaller ones before and became a pain in the ass to manicure due to so much leaf crispyness.

I am not sure what spraying you speak of for one would run the risk of mold if in flower. This said in certain situations one must spray the plants in flower thus double your fan speed for the washed plants! To clean off bug spray or dead bugs!

Do you, well have you heard of putting the bud in paper bags? or does the jar method just work for you? what i have read is hang up the plant 4-5 days, then cut them off and put it in a non starched or bleached its actually bleached, for a few days and the moisture soaks inthe bottom of the bag and then in a jar for 12 hours at a time

@tpvalley i can't say that i have. anyways my other post is correct, it's the same thing with edibles. you dont want to cook them with too high of a temp otherwise you will lose a lot of thc in the process. my friends vaporizer heats up and stops at 377 degrees and then cools down to around 350 i believe before it kicks back on so yeah..

@cheezy811 it more or less depends on what strain of weed you grow, how well you grew it (that alone has many factors in itself), what stage of the cycle your at and etc. As you cure the ganja...it develops a more smoother and purer taste/smell over time as well. But anyways I had some bomb ass skunk once (about 2 gs of it) and it stunk up my whole room and as well as the nearby one (WHILE IT WAS IN THE CORNER...and sealed). So imagine how one plant would smell, then imagine a whole garden....

Hey I'm growing my first plant it's been flowering for awhile now but the buds aren't even close to the size of your plants and are starting to look like their dying. If anyone could give some advise that would help alot. I have already moved the lights closer. Should I add some new soil
Make sure it has phosphorous during flowering, amongst other important nutrients. How far along in flowering are you? Leaves will yellow towards the end, and in that case you should be flushing them. But that's for the last 1-2 weeks before harvest.

JASON ATTENTION!! Do you, well have you heard of putting the bud in paper bags? or does the jar method just work for you? what i have read is hang up the plant 4-5 days, then cut them off and put it in a non starched or bleached its actually bleached, for a few days and the moisture soaks inthe bottom of the bag and then in a jar for 12 hours at a time

What are the advantages of curing the buds? If you don't cure them would you just let them hang for a little longer, say seven days? Sorry for the simple questions, I'm about to grow my first plant in a closet; we all have to start somewhere haha.

@Jason0930 thc vapourises at 720 degrees so u can dry at highish temperatures but the taste isnt so good due to turenoids.
a warm conservatory of boiler room are ideal.
or a building where nobody else has a sense of smell.....at all!

@tpvalley i can't say that i have. anyways my other post is correct, it's the same thing with edibles. you dont want to cook them with too high of a temp otherwise you will lose a lot of thc in the process. my friends vaporizer heats up and stops at 377 degrees and then cools down to around 350 i believe before it kicks back on so yeah..

@cheezy811 it more or less depends on what strain of weed you grow, how well you grew it (that alone has many factors in itself), what stage of the cycle your at and etc. As you cure the ganja...it develops a more smoother and purer taste/smell over time as well. But anyways I had some bomb ass skunk once (about 2 gs of it) and it stunk up my whole room and as well as the nearby one (WHILE IT WAS IN THE CORNER...and sealed). So imagine how one plant would smell, then imagine a whole garden....

Hey I'm growing my first plant it's been flowering for awhile now but the buds aren't even close to the size of your plants and are starting to look like their dying. If anyone could give some advise that would help alot. I have already moved the lights closer. Should I add some new soil

Make sure it has phosphorous during flowering, amongst other important nutrients. How far along in flowering are you? Leaves will yellow towards the end, and in that case you should be flushing them. But that's for the last 1-2 weeks before harvest.
