  • These conversions hardly make good business since these days unless buying used. When you do the math, if you're not flying the high country or very long distances with the possibility of encountering low-level weather on a regular bases, then this conversion is an expensive money pit. Young people love the idea- but business minded folk figure in the replacement of turbine wheels/hot section, etc..

  • SHITE MUSIC

  • Bet that set you back a bundle!!

  • Ahhhhh- the A-36 on steroids, I knew a guy named Van who did this with one, but used a Baron wing without the engine nacelles so that he could have the extra fuel. Hot plane.

  • Great video! song goes with it very well, i love how the A36 does a fly by while the pretty woman song is playing, Great Job!!!

  • That inane, over played song was most effective at covering the sound of this turboprop.

  • Great Video! i like it!

  • Love the A36, did plenty of hours in the nicest version I found VH-XFS. Fantastic plane to fly.

  • That's one sweet ride!

  • holy shit. beautiful

  • Those main gear struts are really flat and need servicing.

  • Ive always loved beachcraft products. Seems you see very few crash.

  • Tell that to Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper! Y'know, the "Day the Music Died." Plenty of Bonanzas and Barons crash - just do a cursory search of the NTSB reports database. Like any GA plane, it is all about the skill of the pilot, his proficiency and judgment, good maintenance of the plane, and some luck.

  • Gipper913;

That crash was inexcusable. The pilot was drunk, and the conditions were definitely no-go.

  • Absolutely. As I said, it is all about the skill of the pilot, his proficiency and judgment, good maintenance of the plane, etc.

In that case the pilot's decision and judgment making was horrid. It was also equipped with a new type of instrumentation, which had a display opposite to what the pilot had trained on.

Just saying plenty Beech planes crash. That said,But I love their products, and fly one! The only plane I'd step up to after my G36 is a Pilatus PC-12NG.

  • that thing is SLIIICKK!!!

  • turbo prop, airconditiond, tiptanks, winglets and probibly a cargo bay. lucky airplane, must be hella loud in the plane too, deffanatly need some bose

  • Actually, the turbines are MUCH quieter inside, and less vibration. They do burn fuel faster and don;t get as much useful load as one might like (less than a D'Shannon tip tank A36 or G36). But, much faster, rocket-like climb capabilities, and higher cruise and longer range with the turbine

  • hmm, when i was in one it was hella loud. idk why, it was an old airplane too.

  • Go to Tradewinds' web site, watch the video. I have been in 3 converted Bonanzas and they are quieter than any A36 and G36 pistons I have been in. The age of the turbo prop you were in may be the issue (bad/old soundproofing and seals, etc). I won't ever do the turbine because my summer home airport (FHR) has no Jet A. But they are nice birds! I'll stick with a G36 with D'Shannon tip tanks to raise the MTOW and VGs.

  • yeaaa. have you heard of oshkosh? EAA airshow is there. have you bene to it?

  • Once, years ago.

  • Sure beats the piston version. Probably more reliable too

  • Sounds sweet.

  • I want one!!! :(
