Thank you Salimarakani. Mr Ranninsoe agrees that Rohingya are Arkahaneese but he does not accept that Rohingya is a historically accurate ethnic name. So how can the Rakhine accept an ethnic race which historically has no evidence of living in Arakhn for centuries with the name Rohingya? Mr Rannininsoe accepts your ethnic group as Arakhanese but says the name is not historical accurate or acceptable.

In a book written in Arabic script by the famous Arakanese Muslim poet Shah Alawal in 1650s said, "Roang, Roango, Roshang, Rakkapura Nam" these are the various names of Arakan. Either you call it Roang/Roango/Roshang or call it Rakkapura.

The truth is Arakanese Buddhist people were known historically as "Magh" only, and they were famous as sea pirates and robbers. Rohingya people in Arakan still today refer them as "Magh" only and many does not even know the name "Rakhine".

Why?

Because Rakhine is not a historical name and it was created in 1940s only.

Why created?

Because their original name was shadowed with bad records. So they want to name their community after place name Rakkapura (Rakka and Pura) where pura means Country or Land in Bangali/Hindi. I do not know how they formed the word "Rakhine" where "Khine" means Hold or Hard in their language. After 1960s they even changed the "Arakan" state name to "Rakhine" by the help of Military rulers.

Then, what is wrong to let Arakanese Muslims to be named after the same place name "Roang/Roango/Roshang". Rohingya seems to be composed of two words "Rohang" and "Ya". Here "Ya" means the inhabitant of the land. Though historically recorded as Rohingya we always call ourself as Roangya (i.e. Roang-gya) without "h" sound within the word. Some says "Rwa-háung-gá-kya" which means in Rakhine language "Tiger of the old Village/Kingdom" referring a place in Arakan Kingdom.

Some says the word Rohingya was initiated from the word "Rahám" when Arabs asked for help saying "Rahám...Rahám" (which means mercy in Arabic Language) when their sail Vessels destroyed in Rambri Island. They were given shelter and hence the start of Muslims in Arakan.

No language either it be Rohingya, Rakhine, Burmese, English, Arabic or Urdu can translate the word "Rohingya" into a meaning "Homeless" even not a bit closer.

Rohingya people still today refers the Arakan Acient City as "Ruáng" or "Ruáng Shóor" where Shóor means city. There was a famous saying among Rohingyas, "Ruáng ór Tiañ Boruna Fán" meaning "The money of Roang Land is so big as the size of a dish" denoting it that it was a rich land.

Human History started in Arakan by Hindus of India as Hindus left India by the advent of Buddhism forcing Hinduism to be extinguished.

Islam reached Arakan from Arab traders as early as 7th century while Magh (now known as Rakhine) reached Arakan from Magada of India. So who reached Arakan first Magh or Arabs is a history debate.

Since 1942 half of Rohingyas left the country for Saudi Arabia,UAE,Pakistan, India,Bangladesh,Thailand,Mala­ysia.

According to British who gave independence, all people inside the country must be the citizen of Burma but none who are outside. So who are the 100% citizen of Arakan, Rakhine Magh or Rohingya Muslims.

However, because Rohingyas are Muslims they are unwanted in a Buddhist land and all the allegations are poured down one by one to justify the oppression of extreme nature.

When Arakan was invaded by Burman a number of times many Muslims were killed and many were POW taken to the Burma proper. That is why you can still find a Muslim mosque inside the famous Burmese King Palace located in Mandalay, the 2nd largest city.

Secondly Magh are also the inhabitants of Bangladesh and India and many Maghs migrated to Arakan only after Burma's independent. Moreover, they speaks also Bangali language because many are of recent migrants from neighbouring Bangladesh.

In the otherhand, Muslims have been leaving Burma since 1942 as half of the Muslims of Arakan were massacred cold blooded by Magh in this year.

Arabs married local women and become separate stock of people whose religion is Islam (and its people are called Muslim). Since women of these Muslims were the earliest inhabitant of Arakan, Muslims of Arakan are the earliest inhabitant of Arakan after Hindus. Since Magh are the 2nd migrants they have less rights than the Muslim.

Rohingya is named after ancient Rakkhine capital city and anybody can see the similarity. Yes some Roningya have killed, as have all Burmese ethnic groups and the Junta too. I know many Rohingya and they never attacked me. Within your statement I spot 3 disengenous statements.
