  • meaning to wear hijab to be recognised as believers?

  • assalam alikum brother.my question is, the prophet(peace be upon him) couldn't be told apart from his companions or nonbelievers. but does this verse support that we should be dressed so people know we are Muslim?“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (Quran 33:59)? does this mean as believers?

  • @ilovejellybeans3 Muhammad (saw) was not ordered to dress as a believing woman.

  • @dawahworks hahaha okie i get you. thanks for your reply =]

  • @ilovejellybeans3 This verse is for our sisters.

  • Bro....Syria had many Arabs living in it....and Yemen is an Arab nation....even back then

  • And thats why u see shcolars all of the world with the propper knowledge wearing thobes, imamah, kufi etc. All of these things are from the sunnah, and if needed I'll come with the evidence of them all.

So muslims should strive to wear the same clothes as the prophe(as), this doesn't mean that wearing jeans etc is haram, of course not. But it is better to wear the clothe our beloved master Muhhamed ibn Abdullah(pbuh) did weare.

Wallahu a3lam, may allah forgive us all.

  • And there are soo many other ahadith wich indicates the clothes of a muslim. But this doesn't mean that the clothe tells us how much the person is GOD-fearing etc...But just to clear it up, wearing any kind o clothe(not haram of course) doesn't mean that is is as good as the clothes the prophet(pbuh) did weare. And imitating the prophet(pbuh) is a usuul of the deen. And u'll get much hassanat insha allah. so wearing a thobe is just not an arab thang, but a sunnah frim the prophet(pbuh).

  • @MaxamedJhadar can you send me some more ahadith on this topic?? jazak allah kheir

  • Asalama alaikum akhi

Masha allah gerat video, may allah reward u for the good u do.

Akhi, just in case this hadn't been said: There are some close considered muslim clothe, wich the prophet use to wear. And wearing that is sunnah, for example the prophet said in a hadith: The distinction between us and the polytheists is the turbans over our caps. Abi daud and Tirmidhi.

UmmeSalamah (Radhiallaahu Ánha) reports that the dress most liked by Rasulullah(SAW) was the long gown (thowb).

  • I presented many evidences that wuld challenge this hadith on "turbans" (these wer clearly worn by kuffar b4 & after Islam).

If Muhammad (s) like wearing a thawb Alhamdulillah! This in no way makes it sunnah for us to follow. Again: (these wer clearly worn by kuffar b4 & after Islam).

From a fiqh point of view this wuld fall under Al Af3al Jabeeliyyah ( Muhammad (s) likes & dislikes in regards His (s) natural dispositions).

  • Asalama alaikum akhi

Actually scholars have talked about this, for example Al-Tabrizi in his Mishkat Al-Masabih on the hadith above(abi daud, tirmithi): he said

"and this clears up the false notion that this was just the way of the Arabs and not a particular practice of Rasulullah (SAW). This shows us that we should wear caps under our Imaamas to differentiate from the sikhs and other Kuffar who wear turbans but without caps under them"

  • Ok Alhamdulillah this is your understanding. If you study the style of clothing worn in that region it was due to climate.

    Also Sikhs didnt exist then...

Nevertheless, wear your turban proud... There is no Dalalah Qat3iyyah (definitive evidence) existing to convince me that turbans & thawbs are sunnah.

  • and in another hadith from Bayhaqi,

"Make a practice of tying Turbans since it is a hallmark of the angels.", so this cant be just from something that the arabs did before islam. that might have been, but just when the prophet(sa) says do that, then there is a hasanat...Cuz imitating the proof in everything he liked, and "ordered" is good, and insha allah there will bee hasanat for it.

    Wallahu a3lam

  • Really educational

  • i dont agree with him since i been wearing sunnah it gives of dawah and it makes me more god fearing and a stronger muslim where as b4 it did not wearing sunnah does have it's purposes

  • To say that wearing a thobe and kufi makes you more God fearing is ridiculous. Be serious. When people see me, they know something is different because of the life I lead and that gives me the opportunity to give dawah and talk about Islam.

  • i am happy to be muslim

  • Sounds personal. Your clothes give you taqwa like new shoes make you jump higher & run faster.

  • was that supposed to be funny well considering allahgave me the taqwa to wear it it is from allah and i feel millions time'smore happier than b4

  • It is called psychosomatics: If you think it to be so then it is... (for you) .

You do realize that all enemies of Islam wore the same style & fashion as the Sahabah (RA) & Muhammad (saw), right?

  • You are definitely on point akhi. Very few scholars have said wearing a thobe or arab clothing is a religious virtue.

As long the trousers are above the ankles according to the strongest opinion and they are not too tight and revealing, you can pretty much wear anything and obviously have the right intention behind wearing the clothes.

  • As Salaamu Alaikum,

I am so glad you brought this topic up. Awesome info. People often confuse culture with religion. Being Muslim isn't about a look, or a style of dress. It's about submission to the one true God, Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Great topic!

  • yes true but most of the time u can tell a person is practiceing deen when he is wearing a sunnah and hat the a person who aint

  • No you can't tell that a person is practicing the deen solely based on dress. You know a person is practicing and living according to Al-Islam when you see the life they lead. It has little do do with dress outside modesty. I don't wear arabic cloths. Why? Because I'm American. I live as a Muslim and that's what matters.

  • if u have one spec of pride u wont enter jannah and dont immitate the kuffar wearing sunnah wards of women and fitnah they dont look at u cos they know your muslim

  • AsalaamuAlaikumwaRahmatulahiwaBarakatahu, May Allah increase the intensity of your ease when it is time for your ease, because you have helped to make Islam easy for people; Thank you for helping to beautify Islam; May Allah accept your service and endeavors in His Cause, and bless us to die as Muslims.

  • asalaam alikum good video, im impressed with the topic, jazak allah for sharing i really enjoyed it

  • Assalamu Alaikum! Yes! Yes! Yes! I love it you proved a point and whoever this video was made for, If they dont get Your Not!! Keep bringing the videos brother Alhamdillilah! Alexandria

  • Masha'ALLAH great job brother!!!

  • Ameen.

  • It is sad that Muslims from the same area can't even come together. Instead of this we bicker and try to get something up on the other one. That is what I meant by Fitnah. I was trying to back away but you have to play the superior card. Attitudes like this (myself included) is the reason that I am trying to establish my programs with no help and you are still begging for a mere $50,000 for a masjid repair. We can't seem to come together in San Antonio.

  • I dont have to "beg" true believers. Many offer money if you believe in more than Islam as a solution. Been there, rejected that.

Allah (swt) makes a way & the haters will bite at their fingers in rage that Allah's House was remodel without their help & despite their du3as to their lessor gods.

  • This makes absolutely no sense. I tried to offer an olive branch to you but you continue with your rantings. I had quite a bit of respect for you. Good Luck with your endeavors.

  • Du'aa to thier lessor gods? Du'a to other than to Allah is Shirk ul-Akbar and removes a person from the religion. The Kufr that one pases on another muslim returns to him if it is not true about the other person. Check the narrations in Bukhari and Muslim. I'd think twice before passing takfir on someone because of anger.

  • Rubamaa

  • ربما؟ إعلم دينك ولا تتكلم عن الشيء إلا بالعلم. أتق الله.

  • Wa anta ayda. insha Allah

  • You have no idea what my methods are because you too wrapped up in your own agenda.

  • Lol! May Allah (swt) guide us...

  • We are working on solutions. You received a personal email regarding one of them having to deal with health care for Muslims that you didn't even have the decency to respond to. It is my fault. I have given you too much credit.

  • Solutions or alternatives to Muhammad's (saw) way? I too am striving for Islamic health care... but my method is from what Muhammad (saw) lived & taught. Piece meal solutions will not suffice for those who know.

I need no credit. Whatever I do is for or against my own soul. Shukran for your dedication.

  • I have no idea what you are addressing as a change of opinions. I asked her how she felt about hijab & then I encouraged her to cover. Afterward the public reacted.

Other than this I dont have a clue what you are referring to.

  • Comment removed

  • Yea & some of us are working on solutions & others are part of the problem.

Please research the term fitnah so it wont be misused.

  • one word ALHAMDILLILAH

  • This video focused on misconceptions amongst men as to what sunnah clothes are. Didnt really touch upon womens clothing... Im guessing I should huh?

  • Comment removed

  • If that is your understanding it is fine. Like I said in this video; 'Islam regular the manner of what you wear not the fashion.'

I personally dont count the bros that wear "high-waters" nor do I consider that as significant dress unless they are prideful as Rasoolullah (saw) indicated.

  • Comment removed

  • Huh?

  • What is Sunnah clothing exactly for women? From your video I am not exactly sure and am quite confused since this was not your stance in earlier videos. Please explain.

  • mashaallah...thanx bro

    may allah bless u..ameen

  • haha from 6:08 - 6:30 is so true brother.

  • great video mash allah

  • Excellent.

  • Bro i love the video. I love your point brother

but you went too far on the comment about voting, because remember this is an issue of ikhtilaf. and you should respect people who disagree with you. Even the best scholars have debated that issue of voting for a kafer. So just be more considerate

  • i learned that you only vote if one of the kaffirs wants good. like stopping the war in iraq. but...if both kaffirs want bad, dnt vote. if both kaffirs want good, dnt vote. only if one wants good and one wants bad, and you of course vote for the good one.

if you want more info on that and where i got that from jus send me a pm saying so insha'allah!

    : D

  • Whoever taught you this has no bases in Islam for what they say.

We follow the Prophet Muhammad (saw) & those who followed him . When we open ourselves up to interpretations that have no Islamic bases (only deductive logic) then we are easily lead astray.

  • hmmmm. well i learned that from my islamic teacher. insha'allah i will ask her once more tonight to see if maybe i heard her wrong. I will also ask her for the daleel.

insha'allah i will comment back to let you know, because i could have just heard it wrong.

  • As Muslim we only know good or bad from what Allah (swt) revealed.

Allah says: "It may be that u hate something wen it is good for u and it may be that u love something when it is bad for u. God knows and you do not know." 2:216

Also, have we gained the ability to look into a kafir's heart &to know their intention for good or evil? Or do we have the ability to tell the future when knowledge of the unseen belongs solely to Allah (swt)? Or do we distrust Allah (swt) who warned us against them???

  • Just some questions to ask your teacher...

  • There is only ikhtilaf when we open ourselves to out-of-Islam interpretations.

    4:59

If we take this affair back to Allah (swt) & His Messenger (saw), we find no bases for support of kufr systems or leaders.

Also it is well-known that kafirs lie in order to get votes. So which of these "new-jack" shaykhs are looking into their hearts to know they intend "less harm" ?

Astaghfirullah! May Allah (swt) guide us all... but me 1st.

  • As Salaam u Alaikum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Baraka'tuhu how are you & how are is your family?

Jazaka'Allaahu Khairun for posting this video & Jazaka'Allaahu Khairun for accepting my request on Facebook akhi, Akhi have you heard of Apple Mecca a cube shaped building in NY & it is a bar? and is it permissible to petition in Islaam akhi? Can you give me Daleel from Al Qur'aan wa Sunnah?

Insha'Allaah May Allaah Subhanahu Wa Ta'Ala reward you & make Dawah to Islaam for you & Muslims Easy Ameen

    Waqar,UK

  • Wa alaykum As Salaam,

Point blank: Any energy we expend that is not toward the solution is wasted energy.

Let use a more troubling incident to make the point.

Umm Yasir (the 1st martyr of Islam) was being tortured by the kuffar in her soft parts while Muhmmad (saw) & the Sahabah (r) were passing by. She cried out, "O Prophet help me!" His reply was, "Right now I cannot do anything for you. But I can promise you Jannah." She answered, "Yaa Rasoolullah I smell it."

  • My point is simple: If we worked toward solving problems instead of addressing symptoms we would arrive at solution quicker instead of allowing these minor disrespects to multiply. فَلْيَضْحَكُواْ قَلِيلاً وَلْيَبْكُواْ كَثِيرًا جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ

    # 9:82Let them laugh a little: much will they weep: a recompense for the (evil) that they do.

  • As Salaam u Alaikum

    Jazaka'Allaahu Kahirun

    Brother Waqar,UK

  • Masha Allah excellent point

  • i wear liek completley full hijab abbaya and lonf khamar, and im a single mom,and i cant function like that all the time, and im tired of society seeing me as some immigrant(no offense to immigrants)its just soemtimes is tough.i feel like ive been arabanized and im tired of it!

  • No matter how hard it is absorbing public criticism, your main focus has to remain Allah's pleasure.

Just to mention: The niqab (face veil) is a very controversial issue that even I have avoided addressing thus far. But if this is not your issue, then know that the kuffar have no standard of judgment.

Al Muhajiroon (The Immigrants) are very favored & admired in our history.

  • Its not an issue of fitting in. Its an issue of distinguishing obligations from mere opinions that have little or no evidence backing them.

  • Comment removed

  • Very well stated akhi keep up the good work, and may Allah(swt) always bless and reward you for all of the good that you do Ameen!

  • ok i have a question, this is easy for brothers, what about the sisters?we have to wear clothes that are loose fitting and dont show the shape of the body!but if even we wear long shirt with a skirt or a jacket it still shows our shape!so then what?me too im tired of being called a arab. :(

  • Well thats just it... The clothes should not show the shape of your body "except what must ordinarily appear". This is said to be the face & hands or what will be apparent due to normal human interaction.

Other opinions are that because Al-Quran mentions the jilbab specifically, only the jilbab is sufficient for public wear.

  • ok im sorry my mind is mush,so are you saying its ok,to wear lets say long loose fitted pants, and a long long shirt type thing(say down to the knees or soemthing liek that)cuz i dont even know anymore..

  • Im sure you know way more about fashion than I do. Just stick to the rule in whatever you wear but know that the jilbab is best.

  • As salaam alaykum wa rahmatullah,

Jazakallah khayr for the clarification of hadarah and madaniyya akhi.

  • Thank You Thank You I Get So Tired Of Saying Clothes Dont Make You A Muslim Only Your Faith In Allah(SWT) Makes You Muslim Al-Islam Is In The Heart And Mind Not The Appearance. Great Video. Salaam.

  • Excellent!!

  • Do you have any anything specific to mention about the dress code of men too ?

that too is kinda talked about too much..

  • great video brother........good approach 5*****

  • 4:25 -- You're right brother, it was the Battle of Badr. Ma sha Allah :D

  • Now that you mentioned it's funny how some of these Muslims who advocate Arab fashion stance almost make takfeer on Syed Qutb r.h. because he wore suit. On the other hand, they are wearing hanes underwear and fruit-of-the-loom socks. Real 'ajeeb. I think this video is quite clear between the distinction. Barak Allah feekum.

  • Masha Allah, brother i realy enjoy ur videos , i learned something new .. May allah guide you.......Ameen

  • Asalaamu alaykum, excellent video, brother, as always!

  • ALLAH AKBAR ! VERY BEAUTIFUL !!!!

  • Great video! BarakAllahu feek.

  • Salaam alaykom,

May allah reward you and the brothers behind these videos.

    Abu Mus'ab

  • Masha Allah, that was an excellent video.. well explained bro !!

There are many such issues which are not talked about just coz they fear of being politically incorrect..

hope to see more from you :)

  • As you know this new one you "dropped" is quite superb! This is quite informative and articulates things in a manner not many can do. The Dalil you provide is quite moving. Honestly, such an excellent job I will give this the highest rating of five stars. May Allah bless you to keep the productions moving! Ameen!

  • Shukran!

  • masha-Allah

May Allah Ta'ala guide you, protect you from all problems and make you a means of guidance for people..May Allah reward you with multiple blessings, and ease your path towards its bounties Ameen

May Allah(swt) give you, your family, and friends the shade of his throne on the day when the only shade will be the shade of his throne. Ameen.
