I've had 4 ju jitsu training sessions now and I have to say from watching the higher ranked fighters I train with this is a lot like jujitsu! But its not....weird!
@Ozarka0 although G'cachter is right to a degree if they had a gun there not going to get close to you with it simply put you would just get shot, if it was a knife attacker or some drunk prick then yes you win handsdown but its not practical the reality is would get arrested for excessive force after planting someone face down into the pavement it maybe self defense but it still inflicts injury to immobilize you opponent.
@GrenadeCatch if that's the case then you of all people should know that these techniques are effect, iv only been doing hapkido for 3yrs and have already had 2 torn tendons, a dislocated shoulder and a broken wrist that's just sparring not in a contest?! If it's crap then you seem to have wasted many years of your life doing something you don't believe?
for all doubters watch?v=GOCgfuajpJs this is traditional Hapkido taught in Korea by a Grand Master there is no fancy flowery form these are single strike full contact demonstrations that will show what the thousands of years of tradition have developed. Ignore the terrible bon jovi song they ruined this vid with :S
All martial arts are base on one own personal flow 'aikido' is a Japanese adaption of the Korean 'hapikido' which translates as 'flow of harmony' regardless of skill level all these techniques do work but not as taught combat. The discipline is what they teach you but it is your own unique essence that will work. If you stick to the basic moves taught you will fail, strike from your subconscious mind using your own natural flow is the key never with anger but with clarity and focus.
@GrenadeCatcher Nah doy? But I hope that you do at least realize that these techniques are shown to help you protect yourself if ever you are in a fight you can't get out of. These aren't used to start a fight, they're used to end them as fast as possible. Now how about you learn real martial arts, stop bashing it, and get used to the simpler facts of life.
@Ozarka0 bashing it? lol kid i was in aikido for 5 years, tae kwon do for 8 and im pretty sure i have a grasp on how martial arts work. Thanks for the unnecessary letcture though it was a good laugh.
@GrenadeCatcher Oh, and before you try and say anything, take note of how all the guys pulling off the moves have been "threatened" before launching their counter.
I will say that a person who learns to fight on the street only has 1 advantage....the are unpredictable with the way they fight. That very same thing is an MMA fighter, try yourself against someone like that and see how far you get. For your sake I hope they don't have Judo or BJJ added to their skills because most fights end up on the floor.
@NARUTOADSAGE, sorry dude you think martial arts is rubbish and wont save you, I think you are wrong I study martial arts myself and I have used it to defend myself and others. Learning martial arts is only step 1, step 2 is to become fluent with the style you learn, the 3rd step is to adapt the style by learning another art so you do not become predictable in a in hand to hand combat. There is so much to martial arts you do not understand & your just being ignorant and arrogant.
If anyone's doubting this because they think that the other people are just falling or flipping to go with the guy retaliating...you're right. If they didn't then it wouldn't look as pretty and the attacker would be beat to hell and land on his butt/back everytime...and take a while getting up...but it sure works, no doubt
@NARUTOADSAGE I have done just that many times proving my point you stupid retard, maybe you'd like to grow some balls and come face me in the battlefield istead of talking shit out of your fat ass
@NARUTOADSAGE bullshit, they win in a room, and when u are not expeting it,but when u are ready to jump aside or to shoot with gun, goodbye martial arts than
@rgam711 I'd say anyone without huge preparation is pretty much a goner there. But having a point-blank knifer unconscious in two seconds flat is still pretty awesome IMO. :)
y gays from israel you tolk about self defanse , fuck all of you , you poeple busy killin babys with F16 in gazza , y you here in the video actin lik a hero , if you smel just the fight you run away , fuck israel
@wally52212 I believe Japanese Ju-Jitsu is far better for fighting in the real world, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seems to concentrate on submissions (or the club I went to did) but the Japanese Ju-jitsu displayed realistic takedowns (that would work) submissions and Stand up fighting.
I took Tang Soo Do (Korean Martial Arts) for 3 years and have learned to escape about 50 different grabs and learned how to defend myself in many different ways. I definetly recommend Martial Arts to anyone of any age.
@datsyuk134life This stuff is cool to watch and I'm sure it's fun to do, but I would love to see him fight a real fighter who isn't going to "assist" him in completing the moves. The participants do just what he tells them to do.
WOW that guy has some great moves! I love watching martial arts and can’t get enough of all the great Kung Fu movies that are coming out these days. “Films of Fury” just came out on demand and it had some really great action sequences and movie clips from some of the best Kung Fu movies! bitly .com/uBGPir
Nice compilation! I don't agree with some of the comments on here. Skill will always give you the upper hand, if you think martial arts are sloppy then maybe you need to pick something else up for a pass time. Practice and discipline make perfect! You don't learn stairway to heaven on a guitar one month and then expect to play it backwards note for note the next month do you?
I know I'm gonna get flack for this, but this is not "real" fighting. These moves only look fluid because the attacker knows what's coming and moves with it.
The real world application of every martial art is the same; it looks sloppy and the winner, 9 times outta 10, was lucky.
Yes, skill can increase chances of winning a fight, but it doesn't guarantee it. Plus, use those disarm techniques in real life, instead of a safe dojo and fake weapons, and you'll find yourself injured or worse.
The Most beautiful Martial Artform. Using the attacker's power to disable him. To bend like a reed in the wind. Always a pleasure to watch. Many thanx.
Its not real if the person he's fighting is obviously submissive. As soon as he touch's the person, they just go with the flow. I'm not saying it can't be done in real life, but its not going to go so smoothly when the other person will be fighting for there life also.
@goastdoggg Yes, but that is why one learns so many techniques so that way one can flow from one to the next to get the upper hand against his attacker. That's why we marital artists learn so many things, so that way we know how to counter correctly, when they fight back and our first try didn't work, we can use their counter to counter with another technique. Aikido is one of the most effective forms of self-defense

@ElliottDaux pain is an emotion try ingoring that. doesnt make how hard to train people have differant pain thresholds.it all starts from birth and you childhood an your up bring. i train and do MARTIAL ARTS after being stabbed 3 time outside a club their was noway for me to fight back. this guy that stabbed me i never had any trouble with before. he knew i fight and had somthing to prove i didnt even see it coming.so you saying Be prepared for any situation, any event in was out having fun.
One last thing, the hardest thing is to fight against various subjects in a closed space surrounded by people who do not participate in the fight. The atmosphere of a pub, disco or bar and I think that remains to be seen in self-defense academy.
@Saiga, you are just an angry person aren't you? The other guy is is right about the similarities, but you don't have to go all "I know everything about martial arts" and become a child about it. From what you are saying, you probably haven't been in a real fight either. Oh and before you go all "I can beat you in a fight" on me, let me say I train with an ISF CQC CT instructor (Israeli Special Forces Counter- Terrorism).
Your budo is shit.
