If you look at benchmarking websites, the 8800 GT outperforms the 9800 GT. Also, when I bought it, Radeon HD and GTX's were not on the market. Those only really existed Oct of 2008 and on.

@TheGameLPer I played fallout 3 and borderlands and it does not rip of fallout 3. Fallout 3 is on Earth and Borderlands is on Pandora. Earth was in a nuclear war while we dont know what happened to Pandora. The story line of Borderlands has a different time line and story line.

Well in every way games copy stuff from the real world. Most things like vaults, people, and mutations where in comic books and movies or in real life before games like fallout.

[borderlands has one big vault where pandoras treasure is (on the world pandora, not earth) I didnt see any deformed creatures yet that i know of, all i seen was alien like creatures and Bandits.

SR2 is poorly optimized, it is more CPU intensive than GPU intensive. What is your CPU? You need at least a 3.0ghz core2duo series to run SR2 well, and even if the game wasn't CPU intensive, you would get low fps anyway, because 9500GT is a weak card.

AMD is just a better choice if you're on a budget, bang for buck

both will be a good choice for gaming, I prefer AMD CPU's, but intel i7 series is presently better >:D

Actually AMD can be overclocked too. My cousin bought an Intel Core i7 920 2.66 GHz (I think that was it) and tried to show me up in World of Warcraft during the last couple of weeks I played before LPing.

He many fewer FPS than me in the same areas (he had a better video card too). So he overclocked each of his cores to 3.9 GHz. Then he was about as fast. Then it nearly overheated and he set it down to 3.7 GHz. I never tried overclocking mine, no need.

That's just one example though.

Oh and mine is a Phenom X4 2.6 GHz not a AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz.

I was told that the gigahertz of an AMD is about the equivalent of 1.5x the same on an Intel. So my 2.6 Gigahertz AMD performing as fast as my cousins overclocked 3.9 Gigahertz Intel seems to agree with that.

So that means that the AMD 965's 3.4 GHz would mean a 5.1 GHz Intel Core i7. If what you said is correct for all situations, and my research is also correct, than one would need a Intel Core i7 965 which is $999.99, on a EVGA X58 Classified motherboard which is overclocked, and that board is about $400 itself as well.

What I was trying to say is that clock speed doesnt mean much compared with different architecture, I know plenty of AMD series can be overclocked well and I've seen some phenom 2's clocked to 4Ghz+ on air. Groudon, you're lookin to spend some serious dough though, huh? You know in 6 months that hardware will be half the price, but that gratification is better sooner than later, and waiting is no fun, we only live once >:D

Since you're a pretty hardcore gamer, as I've found out watching your videos, I would ask you if it's worth getting the following games : Drakensang, Demigod and Fallout 3. My current PC is : Pentium Dual Core E2140 1.6Ghz, 1 GB Ram, ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO 512 MB. And if you could answer if it's worth upgrading to 2GB Ram and what improvements I can expect. Sorry for such a long comment and hope you find the time to answer :)

Its impossible to tell you if a game is worthwhile for you to buy. Only you know that. All I do is show you what it's like.

And if you are going to upgrade to 2 gigs of ram, I would strongly urge you get the fastest memory your motherboard can handle. Like I would recommend upgrading from say, from two dimms 800 2x512meg, to two dimms 1066 2x1gig.

I can imagine you seeing anywhere from a 20% to a 40% boost of speed. Just don't spend more than $40 for it.

Or possibly fill out the other two slots on your motherboard, if they are free, with the same rating of your 512's. That might even get you higher speeds, if they all match.
